Annie is the must see movie in this house. The kids can’t stop talking about it and I just have “Tomorrow” stuck in my head from dawn to dusk. So Why should you take your family to go see the movie this weekend starting on Friday December 19th?
Annie (played by Quvenzhané Wallis) is amazing because she is able to keep happy outlook on life. She was abandoned by her parents at the age of 4; leaving her a child in the foster care system. Living with her alcoholic foster mom, Miss Hannigan (played by Cameron Diaz), was less than ideal. But because Annie is a spunky, self-assured, and assiduously positive, she doesn’t let the hard-knock life with Miss Hannaty dampen her outlook on her future. She is determined to find her parents and spends every Friday at the New York City Restaurant she was dropped off at wearing her locket hoping they will just show up. Even the show owner feels for Annie and gives her a treat before she leaves.
One day her luck changes as she runs right into billionaire Will Stacks (played by Jamie Foxx). Annie spotted a dog and ran after it right into the street with an oncoming car and Will yanks her from the street keeping her from getting hit. This is captured by some bystander who uploads it and it goes viral. This begins the heartwarming relationship between Annie and Stacks. She moves in with him and he starts to become a nice guy as he develops feelings for her.
There is even talk of him adopting her but his campaign advisor pulls an under-handed stunt that puts quite a crinkle in Will’s plan. Does Annie get adopted? You’ll have to go to the movie to find out and I hope you like music because Annie has 12 musical numbers in it. You’ll find yourself singing “It’s a hard knock life” and “Tomorrow” in no time at all.
