The NFL decided that they wanted to improve Safety and access to games this year. To provide a safer environment that means that you can only take in bags to a certain size and they prefer clear ones. The NFL strongly encourages you to not bring any type of bags, but outlined what is permissible. Beginning with preseason games, fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container at stadium plaza areas, stadium gates, or when approaching queue lines of fans awaiting entry into the stadium.
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12.” (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com/allclear), or
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
You are also allowed to bring:
- Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
My next door neighbor has still been going to games and said that he expected there to be delays in the lines because of the new rule but found that there weren’t any delays, there weren’t any issues getting into the stadium. He also said it’s not really a big deal at all unless you want to take children. Which I agree with. Taking children to the game will be a challenge if you want to have your own snacks, and drinks and toys for them. You could leave snacks out in the car and just not take children that still need to bring their toys or you could just bring a few toys that would fit in the clear plastic freezer bag. I mean it can still be done you just have to get creative and after being a mom for only six years I feel like I’ve gotten pretty good at being creative.
