I really enjoy writing, yet I’ve never really considered writing a book; until the Motherhood asked if I wanted to contribute to a book. I will be compensated for being one of the contributing authors for the National Wildlife Federation’s (NWF) “Be Out There” summer e-book. Which happens to be something that I’m very passionate about. Getting your children outside!!!
I’ve heard that it’s really easy to get a blog turned into a book, and that a blog is a great way to have an audience that might actually be interested in buying a book, making this the perfect opportunity for me to find out if creating a book might be something I’m interested in doing in the future.
Getting your kids outside is important to me for quite a few reasons. The first, I was forced to play outside whenever it was nice while I was growing up. That kept me active and helped me grow to love being outside. Yeah, I hated it when I was “forced” to do it, but it kept me active and outdoors. You get vitamin D, fresh air and activity by being outside doing things.
Another reason why I’m so passionate about getting my children outside is because it’s so important for them to be active and living where we live there are so many different outdoor activities that can keep us busy. We can go hiking, to the beach, to the mountain, to the forest, and parks galore. I’m really excited to share my tips to getting children outside and to read the tips of other bloggers that I know and love.
The book we’re writing, well like I said it’s for the National Wildlife Federation’s Be Out There initiative. Their goal is to get 10 million kids outside, running, and playing. Their site is a wonderful resource for parents looking for fun outdoor ideas this summer. But you know what I’m interested in? I’m interested in you guys sharing your ideas too. Help me come up with a topic. I’m so far out there with ideas I need help narrowing them down.
