Sony paid for hotel and transportation for my son and I to attend the Peter Rabbit Press Conference and Movie Premiere.
My son and I have been to three press conferences together and each of them were different. One of the conferences was just he, I and my daughter with the actors from a movie. Not really a press conference, that’s more of a one on one interview. Another time, we were in a room of moms, kids and the actors. This time, for the Peter Rabbit Press Conference it was with the entire press, Facebook live, and the actors. My son was a little disappointed because he really liked the round table style he’s done in the past. But he still got a question in and if this picture is any indication, that completely made his day.
He had to wait a very long time because he and I were sitting in the very back of the conference. The conference was in the sun and on a hot day, we picked seats in the shade instead of sitting with the other kids. When the kids section was asked if they had a question to ask, he jumped up out of his seat because he wanted to ask his question. I told him to stand on his chair so they could see him, but he wasn’t sure if we were allowed to do that. I mean it was a nice conference. So he had to wait and wait. In the interview Domhnall Gleeson, mentioned that he was also in Star Wars as General Hux. He also mentioned that yes there were some similarities between his two characters. They were both a little grumpy and he got slammed into walls. That prompted my sons’ question which was, what is it like to be slammed into walls?
You can watch the interview to see his complete answer…
Here are some of the other highlights from the interview
James Corden plays Peter Rabbit in this live action film. He was very excited that day that the Spice Girls are getting back together. He mentioned how monumental that was a few times. Even when he was asked about Blue Jackets, he talked about “monumental day”. Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne were the live action characters so they worked a lot together and mentioned how they were able to respond to the bunnies which are CGI. There were often sticks with blue balls on them that they used as markers. This gave them a place to look and an opportunity for a joke about blue balls. Thankfully the kids were like, mom why is that funny? I later told him, and he said ewe disgusting that’s not funny.
Margot Robbie and Elizabeth Debicki were also voice actors for the movie. Flopsy and Mopsy and after watching the movie, I’m not sure which one is older. 😉 Go see the movie to know what I’m talking about. I also have to give mad props to Elizabeth Debicki because she’s the one that noticed my son had a question!!
