Pampers was my sponsor to Blogher 12 and I learned so much about where blogging conferences are going, networking opportunities and about moms and how those of us do it all and how we do it well. We keep our kids close and travel with them as often as we can. Sometimes work takes us away from them but many of the moms I encountered had their children with them. Since holiday travel plans are being made for us I figured others are thinking about the same things. And that’s what made me decide to go ahead and share these tips with you today.
I was tasked with interviewing moms to find out what their tips were about traveling with kids. Here’s what they had to say:
Tips:
Baby Carrier
Packed Toys Wrapped so the child can open them
Snacks that aren’t messy
Leave in the middle of the night
Travel Version of their favorite Game
Baby Wearing
I find that when I travel with my kids I need to be prepared to be stranded so we each have a backpack full of things we need. The kids have one change of clothes and all the toys and activities they can fit in their bags. In my bag I have a change of clothes, my computer, wrapped toys new and old and lots and lots of snacks. (YES I have been stranded in an airport overnight with my children). So we’re always prepared or try to be prepared for the unexpected.
I loved doing this with Pampers and thank them a great deal for sponsoring me to Blogher 12.
Thanks for the tips! I always have a baby carrier with me- I even have one that folds up small for the diaper bag. It’s saved me so many times!
I love these tips! Travel size snacks are a must because like Christine, my kids always seem to be hungry the second we get into the car.
The video is great.
I’ve been fortunate in that my son has always been great to travel with. *knocks wood”
Oh my, I’d freak if I got stranded in an airport overnight!
So glad those days are over.
Love it!!!
I agree with middle of the night or early a.m driving. Saves so many headaches that way unless you include the one you get from the kids snoring lol
Games and snacks always made me happy.
We attempted it once, it went ok, but now that we have two we’ll wait.
I loved having books and food 🙂
Aww, I loved the video, especially seeing Becca (Mama B) and her adorable little Sophia.
My tips for flying with kids would be to do it late at night or early morning. And if you decide not to, then bring tons of snacks to bribe them with. My 2yo screamed on a plane for an entire 15 minutes during descent. It was definitely one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. People were not happy and had no problem voicing their opinions. I was mortified.
Great tips! We just went on our first trip with out son and I didn’t think to bring a few baby proofing items for the hotel.
Apparently all of the moms love the wrap/sling!
We travel during the night anytime we have a roadtrip. It is s o much more pleasant with the kids asleep!
Never thought of wrapping toys but what a neat idea.
These are great tips! We’ve traveled several times with our kids and one thing I will never leave home without is snacks and a portable DVD play.
