At Blogher I tried to step outside of my comfort level and do video opportunities. I let people interview me and I interviewed them. One of the opportunities was with Walmart. They were taking videos of people sharing their “Fresh Idea”. A Fresh Idea is a way that you can be a little more green or environmentally conscience. So I thought of something that I try to do:
What is your Fresh Idea?
You look great Louise! You are very soft spoken. Good tip =)
You did a great job with this video! Also, some coffee places offer a small discount (Like 10 cents or so) for bringing your own cup – I think Starbucks does, and probably others. So you can save both kinds of green! 😀
You did a great job and gave a great tip. 🙂
My Fresh Idea is getting rid of those smelling kicks with Nike’s Reuse-a-Shoe. You just bring your old sports shoes into a participating retail store or mail them into Nike. They take your smellies and turn them into sports courts and athletic fields. What to talk about recycling! And they use the whole shoe! Nike also accepts any brand of sports shoe AND now those rubber wrist bands that were the fad (they take those too). I usually mail mine in, but my MOMS Club is doing a collection and we can turn in up to 200 shoes from our group to a Nike retailer (groups must apply to do this, individuals can bring up to 5 pairs at a time).
Some people call me cheap for doing this 🙂 but…I like to use the non stick aluminum foil for baking, and then when it’s cooled off, I wipe it down and fold it up and store it for the next time. It saves a lot of money and garbage.
