I’m proud to be working with CVS Pharmacy to help spread the word about #BetterHealthMadeEasy and how to #FindYourHealthy. All opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
I know it might be early to you guys to start thinking about New Years Resolutions but for me, I’m already thinking about 2018. I’m thinking about my blogging goals and what I want to concentrate on next year. I’ve had a difficult year emotionally and it really put a strain on my work. At times, I really wanted to quit and just curl up in a ball in my room and stay there. So, my New Year’s Resolutions are to focus on my health and attitude with every new project I take on. I’m going to make a vision board so that I can always remind myself what I have to look forward to and what my goals are short term and long term. I’m also going to make sure that I take that time to keep myself, my health, my habits, and my attitude in check and CVS and MinuteClinic are going to be my go to source for ways to keep that focus on those important needs.
What are Ways TO Keep Your Resolution all year round?
I’m going to be making that vision board so I can see my goals all year long, but there are other ways to keep yourself motivated and many of those ways depend on what your resolution is.
Exercise and Weight Loss motivation:
Of course this one is always on my list, I want to exercise more and get back on my diet. But life gets busy and it’s easy to find excuses or give up on this resolution, but CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic are helping customers stick to their resolutions with some of their health services. For those trying to slim down, MinuteClinic offers weight loss services in partnership with DASH for Health. They also have a nurse practitioner that can help you develop a personalized plan, set goals and keep you on track throughout the journey. In addition to an overall assessment, MinuteClinic nurse practitioners will meet for 1-on-1 consultations to ensure you are effectively improving your health and act as a support system.
Giving Up Smoking:
Luckily I never smoked. But I did live with smoker and have other family members that still smoke. It’s one of the hardest and the most important decisions you can make is to stop smoking. If your resolution is to quit smoking, MinuteClinic’s Start to Stop smoking cessation program aids patients in quitting at their own pace. Again, you can find a trained practitioner that will conduct a nicotine addiction assessment and create a customized cessation plan that could include over-the-counter nicotine replacement or a prescription. In September 2014, CVS Health became the first national retail pharmacy chain to stop selling tobacco products in all of its stores which is a pretty amazing step.
One of the things that is going to be on my vision board is traveling more with the family. Because of my job I already travel a lot but I hate the time away from my family. I really want to find ways to start taking the kids with me or to make more time for family travel. I’m not alone in this goal as many people choose to travel more as their resolution, but may not think about the logistics to do so—CVS Pharmacy can help here as well. To prep for a trip, big or small, MinuteClinic offers Pre-travel consultations and can help with vaccinations for international trips so you’re ready to go.
Another one of my goals is to save some money. We want to eventually buy a new house and get a yard, but we also will need money to travel more so we need to find ways to save money. Saving money is a popular resolution, and although we can’t avoid spending money, CVS is here to help you and I save and spend wisely. In a time of panic, your instinct may tell you a visit to the emergency room is necessary, but MinuteClinic locations can actually tend to a variety of minor illnesses (ear infections, bronchitis, pink eye, and more) and injuries (burns, sprains, bites, etc.) and can save you hundreds of dollars. Another way to save is to sign up for the rewards. Did you know that ExtraCare Rewards members can sign up for ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards and will earn $5 ExtraBucks for every 10 scripts filled?
Plus, if you get your flu shot at a CVS Pharmacy or MinuteClinic location you will receive a $5 off $25 coupon or a $5 target giftcard if you are vaccinated at a CVS inside Target location.
You might try finding a way to keep 2018’s New Years Resolutions alive all year long by creating your own vision board, or just some way to remind yourself of the goals you have. These goals can keep you motivated all year round.
