Today is Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. I usually like to hang tight at home and scope out the online deals – and if you, too, would like to avoid some of the holiday rush, then you’ll be excited to hear about the launch of Volvo’s In-Car Delivery Service!
This is the first commercially available service of its kind, where users can select “In-car delivery” at checkout from participating food and gift retailers. This works via a digital key that grants one-time access to your vehicle. Once the goods have been delivered to your car, you’ll receive a notification and can then drive home at your leisure; for example, you could have your Christmas shopping brought to your car while you’re at work and go straight home, rather than hitting a crowded mall right after your shift. It’s currently only available in Gothenburg, Sweden, but will be rolled out to other markets in the future.
