In my house the decision to use syrup has gone away until now. I feel that my kids don’t need syrup, they are only two and one. I never wanted my kids to have a whole lot of extra sugar or additives that they can live without, and although I still feel that way; yet, there is another option I might consider when they get older.
Log Cabin has reformulated their syrup. It no longer has high fructose corn syrup. Log Cabin sent me the syrup to try and I like it. I love the Maple flavor in my syrup. I don’t have the best taste buds but I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in this syrup and another syrup full of sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
What do you think about sugar? Natural sugar, high fructose corn syrup or fake sugar? I think I’m a fan of natural sugars found in fruit.
Reformulated Log Cabin syrup can be found on store shelves across the country in Log Cabin Original Flavor Log Cabin Sugar Free and Log Cabin Lite flavors. Read more about Log Cabin. Log Cabin has been making syrup since 1887 and named after Abraham Lincoln (he grew up in a log cabin).
From the bottle: in a 1/4 cup:
105 mg Sodium
52 Total Carbs (that’s a lot right?)
33 Sugars (that’s a lot too?)
I’m not sure how it compares to other syrups because it’s the only syrup I have in the house right now.
