The Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Series Anti-Aging Collection
Over the last several weeks, I have been lucky enough to get to try out some totally cool beauty products from the “Ultimate Youth Power Series” anti-aging collection from Racinne.
I have to admit that my skin care routine has been somewhat pathetic, especially when it comes to my face. I’m in the habit of sleeping in my make-up. (I know!) I moisturize with whatever lotion I happen to have on hand. Pretty much anything I use to wash my face was purchased at the grocery store. It goes on and on. I’m a total train wreck when it comes to skin care, and I my mom totally taught me better than that.
Recently, I’ve been thinking that it might be getting to be about time for me to start taking more of an interest in that particular area of my personal hygiene and self-care routine. I’m 36 now, and, although I seem to be genetically predisposed to relatively good skin and a generally youthful appearance (people frequently think I’m about 22), I can see the lines that are trying to form and feel the inevitable pull of gravity on my face.
So when the parcel from Racinne arrived at my house, and I pulled out all of these shiny gold boxes, I was excited, but pretty sure I was out of my element. Fortunately, they also sent me instructions. I tried out 5 different products from this series: The Youth Power Serum, Youth Power Eye Serum, Youth Power Lotion (for daytime), Youth Power Cream (for night time), and Youth Power Neck Emulsion.
So I committed to using these products morning and night, removing my make-up at the end of the day, and generally taking better care of my skin.
I really enjoyed using these products. They have a very light scent that is reminiscent of some product my mom used to use when I was a kid.
After just a couple of days, I noticed a definite improvement in the evenness of my skin. Normally, my nose is on the oily side, while my cheeks tend to be a little bit dry. Because of this, in the last couple of years, I have abandoned use of normal foundation make-up, in favor of the ‘tinted moisturizer’ type, which always seems kind of silly to me. But the problem with my regular foundation is that as soon as I put it on, because my cheeks and the area on either side of my nose is drier, the second I smile, wrinkle up my nose, or move my face at all, my foundation shows all of those lines and just makes my skin look dry and wrinkly. It drives me nuts. But when I noticed how soft and moisturized my whole face felt after using the Youth Power Serum and Lotion, I decided to try my regular foundation, and I was quite pleased! No weird, dry-looking lines.
After about a week, I was wishing I had some cleanser and toner, too!
Along with the products and the instructions, I also received a lengthy write up about the products and the science behind the ingredients in them. I would try to reiterate what all of that said, but honestly, I got a little lost with words like “neuropeptides”, “amino acid sequences ”, “fibroblasts”, and “neoendorphins”. I would very likely make a fool of myself attempting to describe any of the scientific aspects, and so I will defer to the Racinne USA website, where you can look under the ‘science’ tab or the ‘ingredients’ tab and find out all you want to know about what makes these lotions and serums work the way they do.
I will say that this line can reduce find lines and wrinkles, increase the skin’s regenerative activities and collagen, and combat environmental pollution.
