I don’t often write about my faith and that was one of my new years resolutions that I never worked very hard on. I do believe in God and in the possibilities of miracles. If it is in God’s will it can happen.
My aunt was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. It was stage four and she was given six months to live. She began asking her friends to be prayer warriors for her and she has been in and out of remission and fighting it step by step.
I have been so impressed with her faith and her unwavering ability to live and enjoy life in her condition. She’s one of the most amazing people in my life.
Last Summer and last Winter she came up to Washington to visit a very good friend of hers and both times she did everything in her power to visit with me too. Which meant so much to me.
Through out all of her battles with Cancer she has never faltered in her faith. She sends out Christmas cards and e-mails keeping us all updated. Between surgery and drugs I think most people are exhausted by Cancer, but you never can see that in her. You only see strength and determination.
Her latest battle was with a brain tumor that was cancerous. She had it removed surgically and came through the surgery talking. The doctors have given her another six months, but we know that was what she was first given years ago. My uncle has asked that none of us are to give up. The power of prayer and belief in God has kept her alive this long and we should continue to believe in miracles. I ask those of you that believe in God and pray to say a prayer for my aunt. Her will to live is strong and her family loves and needs her still.
Thank You!
Wow Louise! Thank you for sharing this! I too believe in God and the power of prayer. This is proof that God works miracles! I will be praying for your family and your aunt, her faith is really something to admire and strive for!
I will pray for you.
Such a beautiful post and what a heck of a lady you aunt is! If it wasn’t for my faith in God we wouldn’t have made it through everything we went through the past year. Loosing our jobs, lost our home to foreclosure and many sleepless nights waiting for that unforgetable knock on the front door to leave a ome we lived in for 13 years. But through prayer my husband found a job we found a beautfil home to rent. The funny thing was when we went to look at the house to rent, when we pulled out of the driveaway my husband pointed out to me the house across the street, there stood a statute of Mother Mary facing the house we were looking at to rent with her arms held out. God Bless your Aunt and your family are in my prayers!
You know I’ll be praying!
My family will be praying for your Aunt. I admire your Aunt for her unwaivering faith, a person could learn so much from her. May God Bless her and keep her safe, and one day soon, cancer free. I pray that this is his will.
she sounds like an amazing lady!
I will keep her in my prayers!
I admire your aunt’s strength and courage, and will keep her in my prayers.
I am praying for your Aunt and your family. Prayer is a mighty powerful thing. Aren’t we lucky to have such an almighty God?
I will pray for your aunt. I totally believe in the power of prayer. Thank you for sharing. It sounds like your aunt is a strong woman who is touching and inspiring others through what you wrote.
I’m grateful to you for sharing about your aunt. Very few people today that like to share their faith or to ask for prayer. It is encouraging to hear she has such strength and it is an honor to be able to pray for her.
What a great post about the power of prayer. I will definitely pray for your Aunt. God is more powerful than the cancer can ever or will ever be.
Your honesty and being so open is so refreshing and I will definitely pray! The power of prayer is truly truly amazing. Stay strong and have faith! {{hugs}} He will take care!
I will pray for you and I am not sure if you know the song someone is praying you through just know there is so many times in my life i have had challenges and there was someone on their knees praying me through it all
Faith is a beautiful thing.
Even though I’m not religious, I do think thoughts from others (be it prayers, positive thoughts, meditation, whatever you want to call it) really can help others. I am sending lots of positive thoughts for your aunt!
Stopping by from To Be Thode’s Saturday Sound Off and I’m so glad I did. The power of prayer is often underestimated and undervalued. I’ll keep praying that your aunt puts the Lord’s will for her life before the doctor’s prognosis.
I will be praying for your Aunt, her husband, family and doctors. I am glad your Aunt is so strong in her faith that she has given herself to God. In Him, she will live. Because of Him, she will live eternally, with Him. Not until His work is done will she leave this earth and at that time, her legacy of faith and love will continue.
Thank you for linking up on Saturday!
She will definitely be in my thoughts! My Aunt had stage 4 breast cancer as well and they wanted to remove one of her breasts. She said no way. She’s in remission and doing very well and we believe it is through the power of prayer. Your Aunt fought it once, I have faith she can do it again!
