I brought along my good friend Nilou, who is a huge fan of Honest Company products, and her 7-month old daughter, Liliana, to check out the Honest Company Pop-Up Event at our neighborhood Whole Foods (Bridgeport Village, in Portland).
What a fun event! Upon arrival, we were greeted with cute grey tote bags by Honest Company representatives and offered our choice of sparkling wine, lemonade, or gourmet soda (I had lemonade). A picnic table was set up with smoked salmon, gourmet cheeses, fruit and dessert platters..YUM.
All products at the event were 30% off, and they even had some of their brand new, and online exclusive items available for purchase as well. Nilou and I both agreed that this was going to be a great opportunity to stock up on some things we were already using, as well as try a few new things.
What we didn’t initially realize until an Honest Co. representative mentioned it, was that each tote bag included a travel-size of their Honest Organic Healing Balm, which is great for dry, irritated, and sensitive skin. Shhhh…I’ve even been told that it is amazing on dry heels, so I may have to use some on my next home mani / pedi night 🙂 As well as.. a $25 Whole Foods Gift Card. Very Cool!
Since Nilou already subscribes to the monthly Diaper & Wipes Bundle, she decided to pick up a couple things she was running low on, like the Honest Sunscreen SPF 30 and Kids Toothpaste, plus try a few new things like the Honest Bug Spray for her upcoming camping trip, which uses only organic essential oils to repel insects, and actually smells amazing too (I personally love the smell of Rosemary, Citronella, and Wintergreen) and the brand new Deodorant in natural Lavender scent.
Since my own little daughter is not due to arrive until October, and I have no real need for diapering or feeding products at the moment (believe me, I know this will change soon enough, and I’m taking advantage of my last few months of being diaper-free..) I took this opportunity to stock up on some of the Honest Co. household products I’ve been hearing so much about. I picked up the Multi-Surface Cleaner in the White Grapefruit scent, which smells ah-mazing, and I’m pretty sure is going to make cleaning a lot more fun…maybe even somewhat aroma-therapeutic!
I stocked up on some of the Hand Soap in the Mandarin scent. I love that this stuff has a creamy lather that cuts through grime without drying out my hands. I’ve used this before, and was excited to snatch up some more.
For my husband, I picked up their brand new Deodorant spray in the Vetiver scent, which is a gorgeous woodsy scent. It can be really tough to find a natural, aluminum-free deodorant that works well, and this one got really good reviews from my husband; long lasting, with a pleasant and not overpowering scent. I think it smells so good that I may be borrowing it… 🙂
The last little item I picked up was one of the Bar Soaps. I have to admit that I initially picked it up because the scent was called Juniper Sage, and Juniper will be my daughter’s name, so I was already a little biased towards it (if one can actually play favorites with a bar soap, that is) however, again, the smell is amazing, and the fact that it’s packed with shea butter and coconut oil means that I can use this without fear of it drying out my already tight, dry, and sometimes itchy skin!
As someone who is concerned about sustainability and the health of our environment, I really appreciate Honest Company’s commitment to “building healthier, safer families” by reducing / not using the toxins found in most household and child care products. This was a great opportunity to learn even more about what makes Honest Company special.
