Anyone from this area can tell you that food trucks are a huge deal in Portland. It’s a fun way to discover new dishes and try things that are sometimes off-the-wall – like that time I had a ham sandwich made out of a waffle from a PDX food truck! 😉 So it’s no surprise to me that The Great Food Truck Race is coming back to Food Network for its sixth season on August 23rd. This fun competition takes host Tyler Florence and seven food truck teams on an unforgettable road trip through Route 66, where they compete in a series of challenges to not only create amazing dishes on the fly, but also sell them to customers all across the country!
The show starts in Santa Monica, California, and ends in Chicago, Illinois, where the last truck standing takes home a $50,000 prize. The food trucks vying for the top spot this season are:
- Waffle Love
- Pho Nomenal Dumplings
- Spice It Up
- GD Bro Truck
- The Guava Tree Truck
- Diso’s Italian Sandwich Society
It’s going to be a trip to remember for these teams, that’s for sure! Tune into Food Network on Sunday, 08/23 at 9PM PT/ET for the season premiere of The Great Food Truck Race!
