The Family Friendly Canyons Grand Summit Hotel

March 25, 2013 by Momstart 1 Comment

Located in Park City, Canyons Resort is Utah’s largest single ski and snowboard resort Canyons Grand Summit Hotel. With 4,000 acres, 182 trails, 19 lifts, three terrain parks, six natural half pipes, nine diverse lodging properties, more than 20 dining venues, and two state-of-the-art spas, Canyons Resort is an easily accessible world-class mountain destination. Canyons has been voted one of the Top 10 ski resorts in North America in the annual SKI Magazine reader survey. And I love staying there. I’ve stayed there during the Summer and the Winter and both times greatly enjoyed myself. Canyons has so many different things to do all year round. Grand Summit Hotel

AAA Four-Diamond Award

From a spectacular arrival to luxurious accommodations, the Grand Summit Hotel provides a guest experience one would expect from one of the North America’s Top Ten ski and snowboard resorts. The 343 rooming options include hotel rooms, studios, one, two and three-bedroom suites as well as extraordinary luxury penthouses, in addition to a full service spa facility, outdoor heated pool and gourmet dining options

When I stayed there in the summertime I had my children with me. I signed them up for one day of summer camp and they had such an amazing time. They went swimming, hiking, rode the gondola and watched a movie. The only thing they weren’t allowed to do was take a nap. LOL, like they really wanted to take a nap anyways right!

When I stayed in the wintertime, I was by myself, learned how to ski, went snow shoeing, and took a sleigh ride to one of their restaurants that is usually only available to skiers.

Cloud Dine At 9,270’ above sea level, this high-mountain ski-in, ski restaurant offers diners an entirely new concept in resort
dining with panoramic views that make each meal “breathtaking”. Located at the top of DreamCatcher and DreamScape lifts, Cloud Dine features hearty and healthy options including custom-made flatbread pizzas, open faced sandwiches and eight varieties of high-protein salads. The white space interior is accented with bold invigorating blues, orange, yellows and gray to maintain the energy of a great day on the slopes. Multi-colored chairs, lively signage, and outdoor lounge seating give skiers and boarders an inviting place to relax.

The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are quite roomy. Staying with my children we did two queen beds and when I stayed by myself I had a King’s size bed. The staff is quite friendly and very helpful, whenever I needed to find something they pointed me in the right direction. My kids loved the pool and enjoyed riding the Red Pine Gondola. I’ll never forget the first time I tried to get on it with both of my children. It was our turn to go up, the doors opened and my daughter jumped right on and my son screamed and ran the other way. I freaked out for a brief second feeling like I needed to be instantly doubled, my daughter was on her way up the mountain and my son was running the opposite direction. Not realizing they could stop the gondola if they needed to, I jumped on grabbed my daughter and jumped back off to find my son. I found him and then next time carried him on so we didn’t have a repeat. I love how family friendly Canyons Resort is and I can’t wait to go again with my whole family.
