My mom lives on the Emerald Coast, I love visiting her because Destin Florida is beautiful with a capital B. The water truly is an Emerald color. My kids love the Emerald Coast too, they ask me almost every day when we can go back and visit grandma mimi. Well, it may be a while for my family to go back to the Emerald Coast, but it might not be so long for you!
Unpretentious, breathtakingly beautiful and named the “No. 1 Beach Town in the South” for 14 consecutive years by the readers of Southern Living, Florida’s Emerald Coast is famous for 24 miles of sugar-white sands and emerald-green waters. Year-round, vacationers indulge in simple pleasures – from the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and spirited seaside celebrations to challenging holes golf and 14,000 affordable, Gulf-edged accommodations.
Want to win a 2011 Buick Enclave? Or what about a one-week stay for six in a luxurious Destin beach house courtesy of Southern Resorts? Or what about round-trip airfare and 1,000 spending money?
The Emerald Coast’s Search for America’s Most Deserving Mom is going on and you don’t have to live there to qualify and if you win you could win BIG. Utilizing the $1.56 million BP grant to fund the marketing campaign, Florida’s Emerald Coast will end the promotion on Mother’s Day, May 8, before announcing ‘America’s Most Deserving Mom’ one week later. One grand-prize winner will be revealed on May 16.
To Enter America’s Most Deserving Mom, you’ll have to create a video about a mom you know and why she deserves the title America’s Most Deserving Mom. The top 10 videos, as voted on by the general population, will go to a committee on Mother’s Day, where the winning video will be selected.

My mom doesn’t like dirty paw prints all over her clean floors, etc. Despite this, she welcomes all of her furry “grandkids” every year and even fills their stockings!

My mom is deserving because she’s a caregiver. She took care of her parents and my dad at home before they died. She sits with an elderly friend of the family every week, and sometimes she’ll stay with her for a few days when the lady’s granddaughter needs to go out of town. She helps out family members when they have hard times. She just naturally gives of herself whenever needed.
