I have a friend. She is an incredibly nice, genuine, funny, and intelligent woman. She has a career, and a good head on her shoulders. Her dating life? It’s not exactly how she wishes it could be. When we hang out, she always fills me in on the latest stumbles, near matches, and complete fumbles. She knows some of it is because of her location, but she is just finding it extremely hard to meet people.
A year ago, she decided to try the online dating scene. She met some people, but none that really worked out. She was really looking for opportunities to just hang out and get to know people instead of “talking” online and then meeting up somewhere… alone… just the two of them. No… she wasn’t worried about it in some weird internet scary movie kind of way, but in that “dating is filled with so much pressure” way.
Recently I heard about Table for Six , specifically the one in San Francisco. It sounds like a dating site that takes a lot of the pressure out of the situation. Instead of just a couple meeting up, you fill an entire table! They meet with you and really get to know your profile. Then, they set up a dinner date for a group of people who could potentially make good matches. I checked out some reviews of Table for Six and was impressed at the positive feedback.
Maybe this is the kind of thing my friend needs. I haven’t ever tried it out, but you never know when or where you might find the one. =)
