Last month, I shared my “Witches’ Brew” craft project with you, inspired by the QVC show You’re Home with Jill, hosted by Jill Bauer. This month, I’m participating in another DIY challenge – this time, for Thanksgiving! Here’s a little refresher on what the show is all about:
QVC’s Jill Bauer hosts the network’s popular show, You’re Home with Jill® and provides fans with simple solutions for their busy lives through innovative products, a library of stress-free DIY projects, and crowd-pleasing recipes. Fans can connect with Jill on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram @jillbauerqvc.
For this month’s craft, I selected this Candle Impressions Fillable Glass Log with 5 Flameless Votives in order to create a Thanksgiving centerpiece. There was just one problem: After I got it, I had major crafter’s block. Originally, I was going to cover it with some faux flowers that I thought I had left over from an old Halloween costume – but then I realized I had gotten rid of them. As I mulled over what to do instead, Jai brainstormed an idea for braiding fabric and using it to cover the centerpiece with. I let him take over since I thought it was a good idea, and he created an awesome centerpiece! Here’s how to do it:
How to Make a Braided Thanksgiving Centerpiece
- Step 1: Take an old shirt or sweater and cut it into 3 long strips. Pick an orange or brown shade to fit with the Thanksgiving theme!
- Step 2: Braid the strips together.
- Step 3: Tie the finished braid through and around the candle log. That’s it!
Are you making any crafts for Thanksgiving?
