I love writing for the Parent Bloggers Network. Every week they give us a topic to write about and there is a contest that goes along with it. This week, the contest is for a Turkey sponsored by Butterball.
I’m sorry but this week I don’t have any cute pictures to share of my first Thanksgiving feast, but I can tell you about it. But I won’t.
What I will tell you about is two years ago. Two years ago I was pregnant with my daughter and a friend of mine was pregnant with her daughter. We planned on having dinner together with our spouses. I bought a Turkey and cooked it. I like to cook them and pull the skin so that I can get my fingers in between the skin and the meat. I put oil and butter all of my fingers and rub the turkey down. This keeps the meat moist. It is really good.
Well, I prepared everything the day before, and had the turkey ready to put in and my friend called me to cancel. Oh, I was disappointed esp since my husband doesn’t even really like Turkey. Well funny thing is, since I was pregnant I ate A lot of it myself. That is the ONLY thing I miss about being pregnant (being able to eat whatever I want without guilt).
This year we’re having dinner with my moms club, but I’m still going to cook a turkey and Freeze the left overs. I’m still teaching my family how to not be wasteful. We are making a lot of progress.
If you need help with your turkey give butterball a call. That’s right you can call Butterball
