Montefalco Rosso by Arnaldo Caprai. is a blend of Sangiovese (70%), Merlot (15%) and Sagrantino, the indigenous grape that grows just on the hills of Montefalco in Umbria (15%). The suggested retail price of $23 makes it affordable for a fun and quality BBQ.
Last night I popped the cork on my bottle of Montefalco Rosso by Arnaldo Caprai. I had it all by itself to get a real feel for the flavor and tried it a few different ways. Right out of the bottle in my glass without cooling. Not so good. So I put it in the refrigerator like you’re supposed to do right before serving red wine. I liked it more cool than I did hot. It’s not as full as a really full wine, it has a thinner feel but at the same time I would not describe it as a thin cheap wine. It has a medium flavor and pairs well with red meat. So this is the wine I would recommend with the grill. It’s grilling season and we’re all in entertaining mode right? I know I am.
I love having people over and not everyone likes beer. I certainly don’t. My husband keeps trying different types of beer and they all taste like beer to me. I don’t want the taste of beer in my beer which really makes me think I’m more of a wine drinker. I love to sit with friends and just with my husband at night relaxing with a nice glass of wine and this wine is best with food. So snack away, eat away, grill away and enjoy a glass of Montefalco Rosso by Arnaldo Caprai.
