Summer in Seattle has finally arrived and who wants to spend time preparing meals over a hot stove? There’s nothing better than a fresh, seasonal salad on a warm summer afternoon or evening. Especially when it’s made with organic greens grown in a neighboring community!
Whole Foods Market recently awarded Monroe, WA’s own Willie Green’s Organic Farm with its second Local Producer Loan. As a result, Willie Green’s is selling washed, ready-to-eat salad mixes in 5 ounce and 1 pound containers, to all 18 Pacific Northwest Whole Foods Market locations. Lose leaf Willie Green’s salad mixes are also available to purchase by the pound and are a featured item at Pacific Northwest-region stores’ salad bars and it’s great for making a quick fresh salad at home.
When it comes to salads I don’t really think you need to measure out the ingredients. I like to just throw things together but I will give you the basic gist of what I threw together.
