The Tom & Jerry Show Premieres 4/8 on Cartoon Network

March 29, 2014 by Momstart 2 Comments

Premiering Wednesday April 9 at 5:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network, The Tom and Jerry Show is a fresh take on the iconic frenemies that preserves the look, core characters and sensibilities of the original theatrical shorts.

clip_image002

Comprised of two 11-minute elements, each episode will feature Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse plotting against each other—with Tom’s determination matched only by Jerry’s own cleverness in evading capture. But this time the cartoon mayhem will not be limited to only Tom and Jerry’s familiar suburban setting. In The Tom and Jerry Show, the title characters’ nonstop game of cat and mouse will expand to also include more fantastic worlds, from a witch’s cabin to a mad scientist’s lab.

The Tom and Jerry Show kicks-off with the following stories on Wednesday, April 9:

    • "Spike Gets Skooled" – Tom gets Spike sent to obedience school, and Jerry is left without a protector. When Spike returns, Tom tries hard to get Spike to revert to his old ways. Jerry fights back to make sure that Spike keeps his cool.
    • "Cats Ruffled Furniture" – Tom is under strict orders to not wake the Witch sisters, but Jerry is set on getting Tom in trouble. When Tom uses the magic spell wand and makes all of the furniture come alive, he must get the help of Newt to make everything go back as it was.

Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!, The Looney Tunes Show, MAD) serves as executive producer on The Tom and Jerry Show. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation in conjunction with producers Darrell Van Citters and Ashley Postlewaite at Renegade Animation.

Crazy Stupid Love

November 26, 2011 by Momstart 11 Comments

Crazy Stupid Love came out earlier this month to DVD and Blu-ray. Crazy Stupid Love is a romantic comedy that’s warm and tender. It’s a movie you’re husband would probably call a chick flick but one that you’ll want him to watch with you.

1000206289BRDFLTOCrazy Stupid Love Synopsis: At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream—good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart.  But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his “perfect” life quickly unravels.  Worse, in today’s single world, Cal, who hasn’t dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth.  Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling).  In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal’s eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can’t be found at Supercuts or The Gap.  Cal and Emily aren’t the only ones looking for love in what might be all the wrong places: Cal’s 13-year-old son, Robbie (Jonah Bobo), is crazy about his 17-year-old babysitter, Jessica (Analeigh Tipton), who harbors a crush on Cal.  And despite Cal’s makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can’t be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.

This film has been rated PG-13 for coarse humor, sexual content and language. Crazy Stupid Love is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download. Emma Stone is adorable in everything she’s in. She’s an amazing actress and was spot on in Crazy Stupid Love.

ER The Final Season, Season 15 on DVD July 12th

July 7, 2011 by Momstart 1 Comment

ER was my favorite TV show for years. YEARS. I think ER started when I started high school. In 1994, I could google it to make sure I have the year right, but I’m pretty sure it was the same year I started high school. Anyways, I started watching it because my mom watched it all the time. I was quickly addicted and fell in love with Dr. John Carter (Noah Wylie). So I watched him grow, and develop over the years. I watched him get stabbed in the back and was shocked to my core. I saw him recover from a drug addiction and lose a baby with his wife. When he left the show, I debated even continuing on with my ER addiction, because yes by then it was a full fledged addiction. I wasn’t blogging then, so I needed something to do and TV was my THING. So I kept on watching it. I was quite pleased that they brought him back for a few episodes that last season. It just wouldn’t have been right to end the show without him. ER Season 15 the final chapter for the ER family comes to DVD on July 12th.

1000181950DVDLEFSynopsis: With sirens wailing, an ambulance pulls into the bay. Doctors coping with too little sleep and too many patients rush to help, making split-second judgments that can mean the difference between life and death. Gurneys roll. Tensions rise. Medical miracles — or heartbreaks — unfold. And the final season of ER goes out as it came in 15 seasons before — with an electrifying mix of complex characters, rich storylines, brisk pacing and kinetic style. Favorite characters from the past (some you expect, some may surprise you) return in this 22-episode valedictory season of the series that shattered the mold for medical dramas. You’ve come to the right place. Check in one last, momentous time at County General.

Available on DVD:      July 12th

The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones is coming to DVD on June 14

June 11, 2011 by Momstart 3 Comments

Today you might notice that I’ve been spending the day remembering Saturday morning cartoons. Of course, the cartoons as I remember came on Sunday mornings too, and during different days of the week, just depends on whose house I was staying at while I was growing up, mom or dads. I would watch the Flintstones and the Jetsons all the time, and when they combined them in a movie, I was ecstatic, and not disappointed. Now you can relive your memories of watching The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones as Warner Brothers is releasing this cute movie of the future meeting the past on DVD.

Jetsons_FlintstonesIt’s the wackiest animated adventure of all space-time when the world’s favorite Modern Stone Age Family comes face to face with the First Family of the Future in a matchup that only Hanna-Barbera Studios can delightfully make possible! Thanks to Elroy’s malfunctioning tie machine, the Flintstones and Rubbles are zapped into the robot-run future while the Jetsons suddenly find themselves in the dinosaur-filed past. Can our fearless families adapt? And more importantly, will they ever get back home? Find out – in a time-hopping animated feature-length romp packed with all the gags, gadgets and nonstop fun unleashed when The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones.

As I’m sitting here with my husband writing up this review, he got all excited because he too remembers when The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones came out at the movie theater. He actually saw it in the theater. See, I can’t remember if I was watching this at my mom’s house or if we went to see it in the theater. We probably rented it. It’s the perfect combination of two classic cartoons. Picture Fred Flintstone in a flying car with a maid, and George Jetson without his luxury. It’s a really cute movie and it’s quite fun to reminisce.

Own The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones on DVD June 14th.

Who was your favorite Smallville Character?

April 29, 2011 by Momstart 1 Comment

I’m actually a little bit sad that Smallville finally came to an end. I loved the show from the beginning. I was in college when Smallville started and it was one of the shows that I watched without fail. I continued watching it with my husband until the day we turned off our cable. Trying to write an organized post about Smallville is actually really difficult for me because I have so much to say about the series and it was on for 10 seasons but I’m going to try. First, I have to say that Lex was probably my favorite character until Lois came along. My husband and I never really cared for Lana, one, my husband thought she was a bit on the winey side and two, she was always leading Clark on. It was awful. Smallville Complete Box Art

As I was saying, Lex Luthor, anyone familiar with Superman knows who he is right?, was my favorite character because he was so much fun to watch. Lex and Clark had such a great relationship. They were almost friends at times but even from the very beginning Lex knew Clark was hiding something from him. Lex became obsessed with finding the truth about Clark he even ended up marrying Lana, Clark’s true love. Funny thing about Love and teenagers to young adults, things change.  At the end of season five (I told you this was going to be unorganized), Clark has to go to the phantom zone to save millions of people from a deadly virus that Brianiac unleashed. At the same time, Brianiac gave Lex some special powers which of course goes to his head. Then in the beginning of season six, Zod, after being freed from the phantom zone by Clark, takes over Lex’s body. So what happens? Well Clark and Lex battle it out and the city is practically destroyed. SmallvilleCompleteB#1682C5A-2

The battle between Lex and Clark goes on and off until about season 7 where Lex’s part became very small. Which is also about the same time we turned off our cable so I need to get the rest of the series so I can get caught up and fill in the missing holes. I did watch season 8 and feel like I’m missing out on a lot of information because I’m not sure that I watched season 7.

Relive the epic battles and the iconic rivalries with the the ‘Smallville: The Complete Series"! Includes 62 discs, never before seen production art and behind the scenes photos from the set!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

April 23, 2011 by Momstart 2 Comments

Walking around Costco and other stores this past week, all I could think about was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 . Warner Brothers released Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part one on Blu-ray DVD on April 15th 2011. Seeing it on all the shelves made me want to watch it. I LOVE Harry Potter. I read all the books, I even read the last two to my daughter out loud when she was a baby. I didn’t read anything to scary, but reading out loud was the only way that I had time to actually finish the books. You know being a mom you just don’t have time for things like reading. harry potter and the deathly hallows

My husband and I had the opportunity to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on blu-ray and I have to admit that I was actually in suspense in certain moments. I had forgotten how much had happened. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry is about to become of age and will no longer be protected under Dumbledore’s spells. Everyone that knows how important the “Chosen One” is helps to move him to a new secure location. Harry has no plans of staying there though, because he has work to do. He MUST find the remaining Horcruxes and destroy them. Even though he has no idea where they are, what they are or where to begin, he sets off with Ron and Hermione to find them. In the middle of the search Harry becomes aware of the three most powerful items that exist in the magical world; the deathly hallows. If a wizard obtains all three objects then he will be able to defy death.

Now that I’ve seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 I’m ready to watch the finale. I can’t wait until July 15th when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 comes out.

Also soon to come is the final installment of the Harry Potter saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ – Part 2 the videogame the sequel to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 . Based on the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film, and featuring the most epic battles to date, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 the videogame promises an unforgettable interactive finale. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 the videogame, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, will be available for Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3, Wii™, Nintendo DS and PC in July 2011.

Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, & Judy Garland Warner Archive Giveaway

March 15, 2011 by Momstart 235 Comments

Classic movies that make your heart melt, mood swing, and dream big involve those big named actors that we all know and love, and if you don’t know them, you need to know them. Gene Kelly was an American classic if there ever was one. Kelly was known for his energy on screen and his athletic dancing style, of course his good looks and that he played lots of likeable characters.

See Gene Kelly in Invitation to the Dance:GeneKelly

Another very well known leading man with quite the reputation is Fred Astaire. Fred Astaire was known for his Broadway productions, stage dancing, choreography, singing and acting. His career spanned for 76 years during which he was in 31 musical films.

See Fred Astaire in Yolanda and the ThiefFredAstaire

Now, Judy Garland, she makes me cry, her career was way too short for me even though it spanned for 45 of her 47 years, she could have gone one forever. She won many awards and is most well known for her role in The Wizard of Oz.

See Judy Garland in Little Nelly Kelly and Thoroughbreds Don’t Cry.
