GoodNites* TRU-FIT* launch in Walmart #TRUFITWALMART #AD

August 13, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf GoodNites* TRU-FIT*.

Bedwetting happens and it’s not that big of a deal. According to a GoodNites® brand study, it’s estimated that 1 in 6 children between the ages of 4-12 in the United States suffer from nocturnal enuresis, more commonly known as bedwetting. goodnites

I mean, in the middle of the night having to get up and change the sheets, yeah, honestly that is annoying to have to deal with as a parent, but to the child it’s quite embarrassing. My son was so embarrassed that for the longest time when he had an accident he wouldn’t even tell me. Then I felt bad for him because he was sleeping in a stinking bed. GoodNites® brand is introducing a completely new kind of bedtime protection: GoodNites* TRU-FIT* Underwear. GoodNites* TRU-FIT* is machine-washable, real underwear with disposable, absorbent inserts that help keep sheets and PJs dry all night. They look like underwear and work like something much much more.

image

GoodNites* TRU-FIT* offers a new choice for parents and children looking for a superior bedwetting product to help families have a better night, every night. GoodNites* TRU-FIT* is available in Walmart and Walmart.com as always at a low competitive price for boys and girls in sizes S/M and L/XL with colors and patterns for each size.

image

GoodNites* TRU-FIT* Underwear is accompanied by a disposable, absorbent insert – designed to protect sheets and PJs all night. The disposable, absorbent insert should be discarded after each night’s use. But the underwear can be washed.

image

Research from the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that psychologically, children who wet the bed do not want to participate in fun activities, such as sleepovers, because of their fear and embarrassment. This is something that is really hard for parents and children. A lot of parents have kids that feel like they are too old to need something to keep them dry but withGoodNites* TRU-FIT* Underwear kids can feel more confident.

GoodNites* TRU-FIT* Underwear with GoodNites* TRU-FIT* Absorbent Insert = Outstanding Nighttime Protection.

August 6, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by Lunchbox. All opinions are my own.

I’m so proud of both of my kids, they just got back from a modeling and acting competition. Miles almost sweeped the competition by winning First in child acting and second in child modeling. Zoe placed in the top ten of two of her modeling competitions. I just have to brag and show off how cute they are. So they both insist on wearing what’s currently in fashion. And when it comes to Hello Kitty, it’s always in fashion. Cute dresses, accessories and school supplies just to list a few Hello Kitty Options. And Zoe’s not alone in her love of Hello Kitty.

One of Zoe’s best friends has a dress just like the one pictured below from Walmart.

IMG_2177

It’s easy to send your kids back to school in style. Hello Kitty clothing, jewelry accessories, backpacks, and even bedroom décor, the entire Hello Kitty Line is available at Walmart stores and Walmart.com. Fall fashion and back to school are even fun when you stop by a Walmart store to stock up on the Hello Kitty favorites your family loves like this Hello Kitty necklace. Zoe loves this necklace, she said it’s the perfect accessory to the dress.

IMG_2178

Head to Hello Kitty page on Walmart.com to create your own Hello Kitty avatar! Play dress up by selecting the outfit, bow, extra, adds-on and shoes of your choice. The possibilities are limitless! When you’re done, email or print your Hello Kitty avatar. And check out my son. He didn’t want to be left out of the photo shoot so he took the Hello Kitty back pack this morning and started posing for me.

Saving Money on Baby Items Like Formula at Walmart

February 24, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

I am blogging on behalf of Walmart.com, but the views expressed here are solely mine, not Walmart’s. Shop online and save money to live better at Walmart.com.

My children are 14 months apart. Meaning, my daughter was six months old when I became pregnant with my son. I breastfed my daughter until she was a year old, and two months later when my son was born, I wasn’t able to breastfeed him. So we decided that the best route for him and me was to use formula. Formula is quite expensive, and we soon found out he had a milk allergy. So we had to switch to the even more expensive formula for him. I did everything I could to save money on formula. image

I wrote to the formula companies asking for coupons and I signed up for all the savings programs I could. I even shopped around to find the best place to find a great price on formula. I even found that some stores had different prices even though they were the same store in different cities. Gah! Finally I found that the best price was at Walmart. Walmart’s goal is to save people money so that they can live better, and Walmart.com is no different. It’s a lot like your neighborhood Walmart store with an incredible variety of high-quality products and, of course, Every Day Low Prices.

zoe feeding miles

Between coupons and the low prices at Walmart, we were able to save quite a bit of money. And as my son was on formula for a year, my daughter was onto solid food and baby food. The great thing about Walmart is the large variety in one place at a low price. I could find everything I needed there. So I would stock up on diapers, baby food, and formula all in one place. And if there was something I found online, I could get it delivered to the store for me to pick up that day. Walmart.com offers unique features like in-store pick-up, ratings and reviews, and even lower prices you can’t get anywhere else. To see for yourself, please visit: Walmart.com

What feeding stage are you currently at with your babies?

Cleaning With A Smaller Carbon Footprint: Walmart’s Great Values Naturals Line #WMTGreen

January 21, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This post is brought to you by Walmart’s Great Values Naturals line and The Motherhood. All opinions are – as always – honest and my own.

I’m going to be completely honest with you. Cleaning is not my favorite thing. I hate gloving up for chemicals, I hate getting on my hands and knees and I hate having to tell the kids no they can’t help because I’m using bleach or a strong cleaning product that I just don’t feel safe letting my kids use. My Kids love to help. So when they want to help, I let them use just plain soap and water and sometimes that’s just not enough to get the stains out of the table or floor. I want the children to be able to help me (under supervision of course).

image

I feel using the new Great Values Naturals cleaning line gives me much more ease when allowing my kids to help me clean. I know they are getting older but I’m still really overprotective and these make me feel better.

Clean with confidence.

  • No need to wear gloves or masks while cleaning.
  • No irritating fumes or fragrances.
  • No phosphates, bleach or chlorine: no toxic residue on dishes.

Photo4

The new Great Value Naturals product line includes four products:

· Liquid laundry detergent
· Multi-purpose cleaner
· Glass and window cleaner
· Automatic dishwasher gel

Photo3

Many people think that natural isn’t as effective, well that’s just a myth. Great Value Naturals cleaning products are made from plant-based, all-natural Evolve® cleaning technology making them 100% chemical-free and toxin-free, biodegradable and non-allergenic.. Evolve is the first all-natural cleaning technology that is lab-tested to achieve results at levels of efficacy previously seen only through the use of petroleum-based cleaners, detergents, degreasers and solvents.

Photo2

The best part is that they’re affordable. Most products that are natural are more expensive, well Walmart has kept them at the perfect price points for families.  Check out these prices.

  • Great Value Naturals Liquid Laundry Detergent :: $8.97 for a 100 oz. bottle (64 loads)
  • Great Value Naturals Multi-Surface Cleaner :: $2.47 for a 32 oz. sprayer
  • Great Value Naturals Glass & Window Cleaner :: $1.98 for a 32 oz. sprayer
  • Great Value Naturals Automatic Dishwasher Gel :: $3.97 for a 75 oz. bottle

Those are prices that I can get on board with, especially when I know the products are safer for my family. My kids are into cleaning so I’m all into letting them clean while they think it’s fun!

If you’re interested in learning more about Walmart’s new Great Value Naturals line, you can check them out on Walmart’s The Green Room website or on Facebook or Twitter. You can also use the Great Value Naturals store locator to see if your local Walmart carries the product line.

Back To School Underwear & Socks #fruitoftheloom Deals and #backtoschool Giveaway

August 13, 2013 by Momstart 107 Comments

I received samples and a gift card for my back to school shopping at Walmart to purchase Fruit Of the Loom.

I did some back to school shopping for my kids and had to make room for the new clothing. While we were going through the clothes I found a lot of clothing that no longer fits my children and found that they had NO SOCKS or UNDERWEAR that fit them at all. I felt like the worst mom ever. The kids grew a lot and somehow I never replaced the underwear. And my daughter said her socks just wont stay on, that’s why she didn’t wear socks all summer long. OOPS.

 image

Growing up, back to school shopping always included underwear and for sure for my kids this year it does for them too. In fact, I think we’re going to be starting the same tradition that I had, you get new underwear and socks every time we do back to school shopping. I’m very grateful to Walmart and Fruit of the loom this year because they have mega packages for the same price as their usual size packages, it’s the Fruit of the Loom bonus packs.

image

Fruit of the Loom is kicking off their "Underwear for Overachievers" campaign focused around shopping for Back to School, and picking up all the necessitates for your kids – from notebooks to underwear! Back to School is a fresh start for moms like me Winking smile  and for kids a time to establish who you want to be in the new school year. Help your kids put on positivity and can-do confidence every day, and let their true colors shine!

image

They have such a good price that the stock was very picked over. I had a very hard time finding the right size for Miles. But for Zoe I had lots of fun color options and different styles to choose from. To celebrate this amazing bonus package at Walmart you’re invited to win a Wal-Mart gift card courtesy of Fruit of the Loom here on Momstart.

Shopping Disney Paint For Zoe’s Princess Room with Glidden & Walmart #DisneyPaintMom

April 2, 2013 by Momstart 5 Comments

So you may find this hard to believe but I’ve been promising my daughter that I would paint her room for two years now. Oh yeah, that makes me feel really low. But yes, it’s true. MomTrends offered me the chance to work with Glidden Paint who has partnered with Disney Paint and Walmart to get my daughter’s princess room up. My task was to only paint one wall, shop for my paint at Walmart and get things for our Princess theme.

WP_20130327_001

I headed out to Walmart and found that they have tons of colors and themes, my daughter chose pink and purple and the sparkle paint. She loves all things princesses. and look at these colors available in the Glidden Disney paint available at Walmart.

WP_20130327_002

Glidden Disney also offers these amazing paint specialty options:

  • All that Glitters   provides a glitter shine over any surface
  • Ready, Set, Glow!    makes any surface glow
  • Speck-tacular  provides a speckled shine over any surface
  • Magnificent Metallic comes in gold and is tintable
  • Great Slate is available in ready to use black and in tintable colors.

I only picked up a can of All That Glitters because that’s the type of room we were creating, but I was quite tempted to pick up the Ready, Set, Glow! and the Magnificent Metallic and the Great Slate and the chalk board paint that they have. Oh, once I get started with a decorating project I have a hard time stopping and at Walmart you can find anything and everything you need including drop cloths, paint supplies, brushes, paint cleaner, decals for decorating rooms, bedding, EVERYTHING.

Before you head out shopping, check the Walmart stores that carry the paint by visiting DisneyPaint.com.  On the top, right-hand side, you can enter your zip codes and a list of Walmart stores selling paints will come up.

This is a compensated post written as part of a MomTrends blog campaign with Glidden Disney and Walmart.

Enjoying These Snuggly Moments While They’re Still Here with Better Homes and Gardens and Walmart – Photo Contest for Charity

By: Ashley

This time of year, one of my favorite things to do is snuggle up on a cold night and watch Christmas movies. You can get nice and cozy under a good soft blanket and just relax. I try not to let Atticus watch too much TV, but once or twice a week, I’ve been letting him watch a Christmas movie before bed. I think it’s just as much of a treat for me as it is for him! I know these nights of cuddling and snuggling with my little guy won’t last forever, so I’m going to enjoy them while they’re here!

clip_image002

My love of snuggling was really what got me interested in the Get Cozy and Give Back program that Better Homes and Gardens blankets at Wal-Mart is doing. After liking the BHG Live Better Facebook page, I saw some of the cozy cuddling pictures that other BHG fans are entering into the contest. What kind of picture do you need to enter? Any picture of you snuggling… with your kitty, your dog, your baby… as long as your cozy. Fill out the entry form and upload your photo BEFORE 12/18/2012 and share away.

clip_image004Every photo entered helps make a charitable contribution to Children’s Miracle Network ($500 for every 250 photos submitted, max of $2k). On top of that, each week, Better Homes and Gardens chooses 1 fan to be featured on BHG Live Better Facebook page – that fan gets 15 blankets donated to their local children’s hospital on their behalf!

I’m really excited about this photo contest, and I hope you are too. So, what do you need to do to enter?

1. ‘Like’ BHG Live Better Facebook page

2. Fill out entry form & upload your photo between 11/13 & 12/18

3. Each photo submission helps make charitable contribution to Children’s Miracle Network ($500 for every 250 photos submitted, max of $2k)

4. Share your photo submission to friends & family via FB, Twitter & email

5. You can go back to FB app and search photos or scroll through to vote for favorites

6. Each week BHG chooses 1 fan to be featured on BHG Live Better Facebook page and have blankets donated to their local children’s hospital.

So there you have it. Now it’s time to go get cozy!

I’m a BlueBird Blogger Exploring The Financial Management System by American Express and Walmart

November 27, 2012 by Momstart 8 Comments

I’ve recently been introduced to a new system of banking, a financial management system by American Express and Walmart, Bluebird! And I’m excited to announce that I’m a Bluebird blogger. As a Bluebird blogger I’m going to share with you my experience using the checking and debit system and how it will organize us as we spend our money. Bluebird has been developed for the tens of millions of Americans like me who are looking for advanced capabilities such as deposits by smartphone and mobile bill pay, fee transparency, and no minimum balance, monthly, annual or overdraft fees. Banking is getting expensive and we’re tired of paying fees. I know plenty of banks that charge fees now, fees to see the teller, fees for not having a certain balance, and fees on top of fees. It’s getting a little ridiculous if you ask me.

image

I’m looking forward to a few things myself:

We’ll be able to set up sub accounts for each type of expense we have or if Miles and Zoe were older we could give them their allowance on a sub account.

Bluebird offers Members the ability to easily create, manage and specify subaccounts for their friends, family members or colleagues. Members can set up to four subaccounts. Subaccounts are linked to the master Bluebird account and allow the user to set spending limits, set up text/email alerts, and enable/disable key features like ATM access.

image

We’ll be able to deposit money with our mobile phones.

Once Members register and receive their personalized Bluebird card, funds can be loaded online through a bank account such as a savings or checking account, debit cards, direct deposit, remote check capture via the mobile app and cash loading at Walmart registers.

We’ll receive member benefits.

Members have access to benefits (subject to terms and conditions), including:
– Purchase Protection1 which can provide coverage against accidental damage or theft of eligible items for 90 days from date of purchase, up to $1,000 per occurrence, up to $50,000 per Cardmember account per calendar year.
– Roadside Assistance2 which may arrange for the following services: towing, winching, jump starts, flat tire change when spare is available, lockout service when key is in vehicle and delivery of up to 2 gallons of fuel.
– Global Assist® Services3 provide pre-trip planning assistance as well as emergency assistance when the Cardmember is traveling more than 100 miles from home.
– Exceptional 24-7 customer service Members have come to expect from American Express.

These of course are just a few of the features you can receive from Bluebird. Be sure to keep up with me as I share what I learn and how I like the service.

How TO Become A Member

The first thing on the list was to sign up and create an account at Bluebird.com. You can do everything on-line or you can go into Walmart and buy a Bluebird card then register the account on-line. It was an easy process, I joined on-line and am awaiting my card. Then I’m going to start using my new account.

I am posting on behalf of BlueBird sharing my experience as part of a paid campaign. All opinions are my own.

Grilled Ribeye with Everglades Rub Recipe: Summer Grilling Walmart’s New USDA Choice Steaks

May 28, 2012 by Momstart 20 Comments

By Emily:

If you need to get stocked up for the Memorial Day holiday, or any weekend this summer, a great one stop shopping spot is your local Walmart. Just this past week, I made a trip there to get my picnic supplies, sunscreen, a new pair of sunglasses (yes, there will be sun in the Seattle forecast!), and all the food fixings for an evening BBQ. That means steaks on the grill! Now, just in time for the grilling season, Walmart carries top quality USDA Choice steaks at their stores nationwide.

I’ve never had a steak from Walmart before, but when I was given the opportunity to try out these higher quality cuts of meat and learn more about them from Walmart’s VP of Meat and Seafood, Scott Neal, I couldn’t wait to get started. The opportunity also included an invitation to watch Chef Eric Lackey demonstrate his winning steak recipe using Walmart’s Choice steak on a live webcast.Walmart_logo

At my local Walmart there was a variety of fresh, delicious looking steaks to choose from. Their selection of premium steaks included: T-bone, NY Strip, Filet, Ribeye and Top Sirloin. Walmart is so confident that customers will love the top quality USDA Choice steaks that they will offer a 100% Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee! If customers aren’t fully satisfied, they can just bring back the receipt for a complete refund. Walmart still continues to carry their Select steaks in the white packaging, but if you are looking for a steak with more marbling, just look for the steaks in the black packaging. These are Walmart’s new USDA Choice steaks. I knew exactly what cuts of meat I wanted before I arrived and had no trouble finding the perfect Ribeye and NY Strip for dinner. Both were surprisingly thick cuts full of marbling.On_the_Grill

Back at home, I sat in on the live webcast and picked up some great grilling tips from Chef Lackey. One of the most important rules of cooking a steak is to make sure the meat comes to room temperature. This will assure more even cooking throughout the steak. Another blogger asked if it was necessary to oil their grill before getting started, and Chef Lackey explained that a clean grill is most important and although oil isn’t necessary, it is often used to help create a nice sear. Steaks_Cooked

I’m not exactly a grill master, my husband usually takes the reign over the outdoor cooking, but after watching Chef Lackey prepare his award winning recipes, I felt confident to give it a go on my own. Here’s the steak recipe used:

Grilled Ribeye with Everglades Rub

Recipe created by Chef Eric Lackey of Flamestone American Grill in Oldsmar, Fla. On behalf of the Walmart Choice Steak Challenge presented by Kingsford charcoal and Coca-Cola.

Ingredients:

4 Walmart Choice Premium Ribeye Steaks

1 head roasted garlic (roast in oven until golden and soft to mash)

4 tablespoons Everglades seasoning:

1 teaspoon coffee, ground
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon dry thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preparation:

1. Combine all dry rub ingredients. Set aside.

2. Rub each steak with an equal portion of roasted garlic paste on front and back. To prevent burning, do not get garlic paste on bone.

3. Divide dry rub seasoning for four steaks and thoroughly rub each steak and place in food storage container in refrigerator for 3-4 hours. This can be done up to one day in advance.

4. Preheat grill using charcoal, until briquettes are consistently ashed over.

5. Remove steaks from refrigerator and let come to room temperature.

6. Put steaks on the grill and leave in one position on direct heat for 4-5 minutes, rotating to get nice grill marks and even flavor profile. Follow this timeline for medium rare.

Here’s how my fine steaks turned out:

And let me tell you, both steaks tasted just as wonderful as they looked. I encourage you to stop by your local Walmart to stock up on everything you need for summer fun and don’t forget the steaks!

About Emily:

Emily is also very active in the local MOMS CLUB. She raises chickens and has 2 shih tzus. Her daughter Caitlyn attends Montessori school and she hates housecleaning, loves wine and enjoys dining out. She would love to find a cure for the depression and anxiety she has dealt with on and off over the past 10 years, just like me. She is an amazing mom and friend.

With the new year comes all kinds of resolutions and goals. One of mine is to get this house organized and Better Homes & Gardens is just the place to do it. I’m going to show you a few products in different price ranges that you can afford to get your house organized quickly and easily.

In the $25.00 price range

We throw all of our shoes in a rubber bin. I’d love to replace all of our rubber bins that we use to just throw things in with a fancier bin or basket. Plus these baskets would work great for your office, bathroom or kitchen organization. This timeless Better Homes and Gardens Whole Willow Basket is great for storing items efficiently. It combines function and fashion to add a special touch of charm to any home.

image

In the $20.00 price range

Better Homes and Gardens makes really great picture frames and I think they’re great to use to decorate and organize your office. Maybe you have something sitting on your desk that needs to be framed and I always get more work done when I have pictures of my kids to look at for inspiration. Highlight your cherished memories with the Better Homes and Gardens Henry Photo Frame. A mahogany finish with gold edge beading gives this 10" x 13" frame a timeless look. Multiple mounting options let you display your favorite family photo on a tabletop or wall.

image
