Love Traveling with The AT&T Galaxy Note 2 It’s the Phone that Lasts!

March 1, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

My New favorite phone, oh wait, tablet, no it’s a phablet is the Galaxy Note 2. It’s too big for my husband but I LOVE it. It’s too small to be a tablet but if you add a keyboard then you can use it like a tablet and I love having everything in the palm of my hand. PLUS it’s phone. I’ve always wanted a device that can be my computer and my phone. It just makes sense to only carry one device. The camera is amazing, the video quality is amazing. The 8MP camera comes with advanced features that let you choose the best shots and share them quickly on your social networks. Tag, comment, and edit photos before posting to Facebook or store them safely in the cloud with AT&T Locker.  It runs on android and has all the apps I need and I can multi task by having two aps open at once. And I loved how everything is so integrated. I can be doing something and share it with just about any app and all at the same time. I LOVE this phone. It simplified my life on my last press trip and as you can see, I need to finally recharge. The battery seemed to last forever, I could go two and a half days of full usage without charging. Usually on a press trip, I’m out of battery by noon, but I was barely at half a battery left at the end of a full day of full on photos, tweeting, checking e-mail.

The Samsung Galaxy Note® II provides a tablet experience in a smartphone, all with 4G LTE speeds on the nation’s largest 4G network. Key features of the Note II include:

• Super-fast 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM

• Enormous 5.5” color display

• Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system customizable with hundreds of thousands of apps

• Advanced 8MP camera for shooting photos and HD video

• Ultra-high-capacity 3100mAh battery for long life between charges

• Enhanced S Pen™ for improved handwriting experience

I’m always filling out documents so being able to use handwriting helps me sign those documents and do everything on the go without ever printing. The enhanced S Pen lets you personalize emails, highlight calendar appointments, and more, all with your own handwriting. With a better grip and increased sensitivity, it’s easier than ever to add a personal touch to everything you do.

I know that I used this phone a lot and it met my needs and I didn’t even crack the surface of what all this phone is capable of. I let all my friends on the press trip look at the phone too. One of my friends said that she would give up her iPhone for the Galaxy Note 2. She was watching me use it and saw how amazing the camera was. Would you give up your phone for the AT&T Galaxy Note 2?

I borrowed this phone from my AT&T rep, I don’t want to give it back but alas I must.

Travel Safe This Christmas Giveaway

December 20, 2012 by Momstart 797 Comments

The holidays are all about traveling to see loved ones for the holidays. Growing up I was all over the place trying to visit everyone. I would be with my dad and we would have Christmas eve at his house then we would have another Christmas eve at my aunts house with one side of the extended family. Then we would drive back to our town and go to midnight mass and then after church my dad would drive me to my mother’s house who lived in another town. So it was quite a bit of driving for him. Then he would have Christmas morning with my stepmom and sisters and then they would go to my grandmothers house. I of course would have Christmas with my mom and Christmas with another set of extended family.

Traveling in the car just seems like it’s part of Christmas and if you have to go a long distance to see Grandma then we have some safety tips from Shell to share with you.

According to the Shell Mechanics Survey*, the four best tactics to prepare your vehicle for the upcoming holiday travel season are:

Printo Inspect tires for air pressure, tread depth, rotation, etc.

o Check all fluid levels

o Fill up with a high quality fuel

o Check / change engine oil and oil filters

Did you know that Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines contain 20% more active cleaning agents than before, helping protect engine’s intake valves and fuel injectors from performance-robbing gunk. No other gasoline protects better!

I love road trips with my kids so I’m not afraid to take a long drive with them to see family. We usually don’t have enough vacation time to drive all the way to Texas, but we do travel other places for the holiday season and I want you to know you should consider a cost comparison if you do have the time because it’s so much fun.

Many may be surprised to learn that driving can often be more economical, fun and flexible than flying. According to a May 2012 Car Care Council analysis, a family of four travelling 1,000 miles round trip could save $1,000 by driving instead of flying

o The average cost for a family of four to drive 1,000 mile round trip is $350

o The average cost for a family of four to fly 1,000 mile round trip is $1,441

*The Shell Mechanics Survey was a 7-minute online survey conducted by StrategyOne. The survey was fielded from March 30 – April 2, 2012 and sampled 450 automotive mechanics across the United States. The margin of error is +/- 4.62% at 95% confidence.
