The Indoor Toy Made For Outdoor Snow Toy Line: Shredz

February 10, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

When I first saw the Shredz I thought they were real life size items that you can play with outside. Boy was I wrong about that, these toys are not people ride on toys, these toys are toy ride on toys. It’s actually pretty awesome. They are the first snow-ready action figures for kids,Shredz™! They are perfect for my son Miles because he’s at that age where he combines play into everything he does. If he’s talking up the stairs of course he has a toy in his hand doing the action with him. It’s just perfect for boys with really active imaginations like him.

This line of collectible, pose-able, snowboarding figures from Swimways’ COOP brand actually hit the slopes and perform awesome tricks in snowy terrain! Using Shredz track building tools, kids can create their own tracks and stunt parks so their figures can carve down hand-made mountains and rip through customized courses for the ultimate snow day activity. It’s the ultimate snow toy!

Now I’m kicking myself because it snowed yesterday and I completely forgot I had these toys for Miles to try out. We ended up just sledding down the hill but we could have had these toys going down with us. Check out this video of the toys in action.

Great Toy for Boys: Bows & Arrows: Zing Z-Tek Bow & Whistling Arrows

December 17, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This toy performs really well giving great distance, and has a cool whistling sound as it flies through the air and does not destroy furniture when used indoors. The arrows are foam and one of them is a suction arrow. Says that you need to make sure the bow is not left in the sun as the bungee cord is UV sensitive. Since we haven’t played with ours we can’t make any judgments on how long the toy will last. It’s only 19.99 on Amazon right now.

Get the next big thing in bow technology with the Z-Tek Bow. Check out the sleek new design and shape. Shorter bungees for faster firing. Arrow clips right on the bow for quick reloads and a powerful presence. It’s an all new archery experience with the Z-Tek Bow. Hook in the Zartz Arrow or Zonic Whistling Arrow, position the shot, and watch it fly through the air for an incredible 100 feet!

Includes:

  • 1 Z-Tek Bow
  • 2 Zonic Whistling Arrows
  • 1 Suction-Cup Zartz Arrow

This toy is going under our Christmas tree for Miles this year. His friends all have bows and arrows and gave him a broken one. I’m not sure how my son managed to fix it, and I’m proud of him for fixing it, but knowing what he’s up against I’m arming him with some reinforcements this year. He’s going to FLIP OUT with this Z-Tek Bow!

    My Little Pony Equestria Girls

July 27, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

    we received samples.

My daughter is a huge fan of My Little Pony, and my son actually is too. We recently received a sample doll and the new movie from My Little Pony introducing us to the new My Little Pony Equestria Girls.

About the Movie My Little Pony Equestria Girls

Join Twilight Sparkle And Her New Canterlot High Friends In This Brand-New Animated Feature!
When her crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, Twilight pursues the thief, Sunset Shimmer, into an alternate world where she finds herself turned into…a teenage girl! To regain her crown and return to Equestria, Twilight must learn how to fit into this strange new world and defeat Sunset Shimmer in a competition to become crowned Princess of the Fall Formal at Canterlot High. Luckily, she’ll have the assistance of Spike and five teenage girls who remind her of a certain group of ponies back home. IMG_7508

For fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, there are lots of Easter eggs, such as Scootaloo doing the chicken dance and Fluttershy’s meeting Spike paralleling her original meeting Spike as a pony. (For non-fans, Scootaloo is a young Pegasus type pony who was called a chicken by one of her friends.) Others aren’t as obvious and can only be seen by watching the background characters. Watch to the end of the credits to find all the Easter eggs.

My kids really enjoyed watching the movie, I hate to admit it but it was hard for me to get any work done because I was watching it too. Most children’s programming now doesn’t include learning a lesson, so seeing the kids actually follow that there are consequences to bad behavior and benefits to having and trusting friends are good lessons for kids and it makes me happy to know this is coming through.

    IMG_7509

The doll? my daughter loves the My Little Pony Fluttershy. She’s willing to give away two of her toys to keep it. I like that they are dressed well and have cute boots. Yep, I have a weakness for boots you know.

This Fluttershy doll will be a true friend for all your Equestria Girls adventures! She has a soft, sweet look and loves putting on her flowing dress with a cute purse. She can’t wait to enjoy ""magical"" fun with her very best friend – you! My Little Pony and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

    Product Description

Check out the My Little Pony Equestria Girls Fluttershy Doll! This collectible figure combines the awesome styling of Friendship Is Magic with classic dolls, giving girls a chance to combine their favorite horses. Each figure has hair that matches her pony counterpart, plus a dress that builds on her own unique personality and cutie mark. Don’t miss this one!

    • Fluttershy doll
    • Collect all the Equestria Girls dolls (each sold separately)
    • Includes clip-in ponytail

    The Motorcycle Gang

    May 26, 2011 by Momstart 7 Comments

The kids in our neighborhood are such ruffians. They scream, they shout, they drive too fast! In our neighborhood we call them the Motorcycle Gang. It’s a group of kids that ride motorcycles any time the rain stops, well sometimes they even ride their motorcycles in the rain. It’s a mother’s nightmare.

    image

I know, at first glance they all look way to sweet to be any trouble at all right. Especially that red headed one on the left, that one he’s a charmer, but watch out he’s trouble with a capital “T”. He’ll just bat his eyes at you and smile until you give him what he wants. At first, we only had two motorcycles in the neighborhood. Our Hungarian neighbor across the street brought this trouble with her. The whole lot of them should be banned for starting up the motorcycle gang. She still has family that lives there and that’s where the motorcycles came from. These plastic balance bikes we know and love in our neighborhood spread like wild fire. And honestly, I’m actually to blame for the size of our Motorcycle gang, not my neighbor.

I couldn’t keep my child off of their motorcycle so I had to get one for my children and one turned into two and another neighbor now has one too. So we have five superMopi riders total. Other children in the neighborhood have found other balance bikes so our gang is now up to 8. Finding the plastic balance bike (the SuperMopi) on the internet to purchase for my own children was a pain in the butt. You try typing in Hungarian Balance Bike, or Hungary Plastic Motorcycle, I had to look at pages and pages of balance bikes that were not what I was looking for. Until I finally found SuperMopi on Amazon.

    supermopi

On Amazon you can buy them in two sizes, Large and Extra Large. I recommend just getting the extra large. My neighbor has on that is even larger than the extra large, the difference is like an inch or two but for me I think the larger the better because the kids are just going to grow. Most balance bikes just cost too much for what they are. There are wooden balance bikes and metal balance bikes and in our climate I’m afraid of rust and mildew. So the SuperMOPI was right our my alley plus the price was much better than anyone else’s.

    Final note:

If you’re thinking of visiting our neighborhood, watch out for the Motorcycle Gang!

    IMG_0293

Disclosure: We purchased Two of these balance bikes because we LOVE them!!!
