Taste the Salt in the Air
The sites of Myrtle Beach, SC.
This week I’m headed out on another amazing trip for MomStart. This trip is a little different though. I’m heading to Myrtle Beach, SC. It’s home to some of the widest, most beautiful beaches in the mid-Atlantic (though I would argue the most beautiful on the East Coast). Fresh seafood, amazing culinary options, and warm Southern hospitality make the Myrtle Beach area unlike any other.
Through the past 20 years, Myrtle Beach has transformed from a summer beach trip spot, to a complete year round travel destination. Things aren’t just open during the “peak season” anymore. There is always something to do whether it is July, or January.
How do I know all of this? Especially since I haven’t even been on the trip yet? The thing that makes Myrtle Beach special to me, is that it’s where I was born! Yep, I was born in Myrtle Beach, SC. My mom grew up there, and even after we moved away when I was a kid, we still went back to visit my grandmother.
This week, I’m hanging out in Myrtle Beach. I’m hanging out as a native, as a tourist, and as a reporter all at the same time! The journeys life can take you on really are funny. I’ll be doing things on this trip that in all my trips to Myrtle, I have never done (at least not since I’ve been old enough to remember!). Crabbing, kayaking, Ferris wheeling, and more! Make sure you follow along all weekend as I tweet, post, and Facebook my way through an exciting Myrtle Beach adventure. I can’t wait!
