My son leans Spanish really quickly. We were watching Dora and he started singing up and down, in Spanish. I was pretty impressed, so when The Family Review Network offered the review of Sing-A-Lingo I sighed up right away.
"En Mi Casa" features 14 original songs, and 3 traditional songs totaling 17 songs. These 17 songs got us singing right away. I mean, I can hear my little man mumbling the words right now. He’s only two so understanding his English is hard enough, but he loves to sing and I knew this would be a great fit for him. My daughter doesn’t seem to have much interest in it yet but I think over time she will grow to sing the songs too.
Song List:
- En la Mañana-In the Morning
- Hola Amigos-Hello Friends
- Señor Sol-Mr. Sun
- Marcha-March
- Ponte a Bailar-Start Dancing
- Tienes Hambre?-Are you Hungry?
- Lava las Manos-Wash your Hands
- Abre el Refrigerador-Open the Refrigerator
- Pon la Mesa-Set the Table
- Dos Manos-Two Hands
- Burbujas-Bubbles
- Mono Chico-Little Monkey
- And More!
The collection of songs was written to entertain while teaching children Spanish. Sing-A-Lingo’s purpose is to help parents that are trying to raise bilingual children. Introducing kids to words in Spanish they can use throughout their day, these 17 songs are the centerpiece of a rich learning experience.
I love the song, Mr Sun, so listening to Senor Sol was quite a treat. I’m able to sing it and do the motions with my children. I’m finding that I enjoy the CD just as much as my son does. Maybe this will revive the three years of Spanish I took in college. Only if I work at it right. It’s the best way to learn though, through fun repetition, singing, dancing and laughing it doesn’t even feel like learning.
Sing-A-Lingo’s “En Mi Casa” has won 3 national awards:
The National Parenting Center
Parent’s Choice Seals of Approval
iParenting Media Award for Outstanding Product.
