Samsung VU7000 Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum with Fully Detachable Handheld

November 17, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Can I just say that I needed a vacuum when this review came along and I’m quite pleased with what we have here. We received a sample from Samsung and our opinions are our own.

We received the Samsung VU7000 Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum with Fully Detachable Handheld. The VU7000 Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum with Fully Detachable Handheld features a removable handheld vac with a long-reach nozzle, making it easy to clean where traditional vacuums can’t. Its hose-free design and separate motor give you greater flexibility when cleaning stairs, curtains, and couch cushions. And because the dusting and crevice accessories are all built into the vacuum handle, you won’t waste time looking for lost tools. And you can do it right away.

Samsung VU7000 Motion Sync Bagless Upright Vacuum with Fully Detachable Handheld

The only drawback to it being attached to the vacuum is that it does make the vacuum heavier than your average vacuum. However, it is awesome to have a two in one. While you are in the middle of vacuuming you can just detach it and clean up one of those harder to reach spots. That’s the kind of cleaner I am anyway. I start cleaning, then I see something else that needs to be done, so I start cleaning that and then go back to what I was doing. I’m usually cleaning 5 different things at once. But if I was vacuuming, I would usually just finish vacuuming and then never go back to that little thing that was bothering me in the middle of vacuuming. I used to think I was crazy, but it’s like this vacuum was built just for me. So I can’t be crazy!

Featuring Samsung’s Motion Sync Design, this upright vacuum glides easily even with the extra weight around furniture and objects in your home. Its large, lightweight back wheels provide smooth motion, while its reverse cambered wheels and swivel steering let you easily pivot on hard floors, rugs, or carpet. It really does run smoothly I didn’t even notice the first time I used it but when I cleaned the house this weekend and vacuumed three different rooms, I really loved how it goes so easily from one angle to another. Plus pulling the handvac off was really remarkable.

Samsung Appliances: What Would YOU Do With 30 Extra Minutes Per Day? #MasterYourHome

August 1, 2014 by Beeb 6 Comments

Chef Collection Dishwasher

This is a partnered post.

I spent last week in San Jose for BlogHer 2014, which was a whirlwind of activity! During my time at the conference, I saw a lot of great booths – and the one featuring Samsung Appliances had me thinking about a serious home upgrade!

On display was a mock-up kitchen featuring the Samsung Food Showcase Refrigerator as well as items from the Kitchen Samsung Chef Collection, which was developed based on the needs of world-class chefs – Oh la la! This line includes the Samsung Chef Collection Over-The Range (OTR) Microwave, the Samsung Chef Collection Slide In Range, the Samsung Chef Collection Dishwasher with WaterWall Technology, and the Samsung Chef Collection 4-Door Refrigerator. I could not believe how much space this fridge has, clocking in at a max capacity of 26.7 cubic feet!

Also big on storage capacity are the WA9000 top-load laundry pair and WF9100 front-load laundry pair, which could be found at the booth as well. The WF9100 set can wash and dry the equivalent of four loads of laundry in one wash – they had large comforters stored inside to show off just how much space these babies have!

And speaking of babies, one of Samsung’s newest innovations is the Baby Care Washer, a small unit perfect for delicate infant clothes and cloth diapers. To keep the cleaning theme going, they also showed off the Motion Sync Canister Vacuum and Motion Sync Upright Vacuum. I’ve always disliked canister vacuums, so I was impressed to see how they had designed this model to move smoothly and not fall over – this is literally not my parents’ vacuum! And, both the canister and upright can work on hardwood floors, which is what I have in most of my house. Hooray!

The amount of innovation that went into these high-tech appliances blew my mind. Every annoyance you’ve ever had with an appliance seems to have been addressed, along with some I’d never thought of before. So with all the time you’d save using more efficient appliances, Samsung wants to know: What would you do with 30 extra minutes a day? I stepped into their video booth to share what I might do:

Learn more about these appliances by visiting Samsung.com and checking out Samsung Home Appliances USA on Facebook.

So tell me, what would you do with 30 extra minutes per day?

Traveling With The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 With Keyboard #ATTSeattle

March 21, 2014 by Momstart 3 Comments

You know I travel a whole lot. I love to travel and lately I’ve been in and out of the airport like crazy. I even had a day trip where I was down to Portland and back in one day. Well, when I travel like that I want to travel light and the Samsung Galaxy Note was perfect for my trip down and back. I had all the computing power I needed for my little day trip. I can easily enter data into my spreadsheets while on the go with Polaris Office. This productivity app lets you view and edit Word, Excel, PDF documents and more–wherever you are. And I have to say the Galaxy Note series is one of my favorite devices out there.

IMG_1478Quick Deets:

  • 1.6GHz Quad Core Processor
  • 8-inch Display
  • 16 GB Memory, 2 GB RAM
  • microSD Card Slot (Up to 64 GB)
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS

One of the things that was really helpful was the stylus. I was able to write down notes as I was touring my top secret location on Monday. I still can’t give out details and I wasn’t allowed to take photos even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has a fantastic camera on it. With the Awesome Note app, you can manage your schedule and to-do lists in one convenient place. Awesome Note allows you to combine notes with To-do priorities, so you’ll always be on top of your life and schedule. You can customize Awesome Note’s appearance with different themes, icons, colors, and fonts. The 5-megapixel rear camera lets you take high-quality photos and videos, and a 1.3-megapixel front camera lets you video chat with your friends. After you’ve taken photos, you can edit them directly on the Note, and you can easily create and send a handwritten postcard. It’s so awesome!IMG_1479

The S Pen also opens up new ways of interacting with your tablet, thanks to built-in gestures. For example, by pressing and holding the S Pen button and drawing a less-than arrow, you’ll go back to the previous page you were on. Drawing different gestures will allow you to take screenshots, open a menu, launch a Popup Note, select text to cut and copy, and more. IMG_1480IMG_1481

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 includes the latest S Note with Web Viewer app, which is a great companion for the S Pen. Take notes on the fly, and then access these notes and edit them from your desktop or another Galaxy device. S Note makes it easy and intuitive for you to digitally publish your experiences. It includes different templates for journals, photos, text, and more, so you can find the perfect template for your needs. By using the S Pen, you can freely handwrite into your tablet, and S Note will automatically convert it to text. You can also draw shapes and formulas, and they’ll be matched and converted by the software as well. S Note is compatible with Evernote and Dropbox, automatically saving and syncing your documents once you’ve finished.IMG_1482

Another thing I really loved was the use of the keyboard. The keyboard acts as a screen protector when it’s not in use and then as I’m sitting at a round table interviewing talent or taking notes it gives me the speed that I have. I’m a very very fast typer so when I’m not standing I prefer to use a keyboard. It came in quite handy. Plus I just get a cool factor by setting myself up at the table in front of everyone!

Quick deets:

  • Compatible Model: SamSung Galaxy Note 8.0 inch Tablet
  • Rechargeable, wireless, bluetooth keyboard is sleek, professional, easy to use, and easy to carry. Comes with USB charger cable
  • Versatile design allows you to prop up your tablet into comfortable typing and viewing position
  • Rubberized back provides extra grip to make sure your device stays put in your hands

Samsung Galaxy Gear It’s LIKE a Spy Watch

November 6, 2013 by Momstart 3 Comments

we received a sample that we have to return.

I’ve been using the Galaxy Gear watch for a few weeks now along with the new Note 3 which I received a few weeks ago. There have been a lot of negative reviews about this product but I don’t think the reviewers fully understand the full potential of this product. This is a well designed and nicely made 1.0 wearable digital device with limited software and application support. As the software matures and the number of apps increase this device will get better an better. The Potential is amazing.

imageThe great features:

S-Memo – ability to make voice notes by talking to your watch and have them transcribed and stored on your device.
Camera – actually takes photos
Mail/SMS notifications – you can read them on the watch including mail accounts from gmail, hotmail, etc.
S-Voice interface to make calls, send texts, etc.
Build quality seems to be very good
Comfortable to wear – not as big and clunky as I thought it would be on my wrist

A few negatives:

Native support for other apps like gmail and Facebook are just notifications – you have to use your phone to read the content.
Battery life is about 24 hours
It Has Limited app support but I expect this to get dramatically better soon

My Overall impressions.

I think it’s really an amazing idea, I’m so happy that Samsung has put this device in the works. Like I said above it can only get better and better. Those of us that are glamorized by the spy world might wish for something much better right away, but for getting a device on the market at an affordable price is really cool. When I say affordable, it’s not the price of a watch, you have to remember that it does a lot, maybe not what you expect but if you did what it expected to then it would probably cost five times as much, so Give Samsung a break and if you are picky wait for a later version, but if you want some fun pretending to be a spy while taking photos from your wrist then you’ll be happy with the Samsung Galaxy Gear.

The Connection In The Palm Of Your Hand: My Samsung Galaxy S4 Story #VZWBuzz

June 29, 2013 by Momstart 3 Comments

Verizon gave me a Samsung Galaxy S4

I have to say, I’m really not going through a very good time emotionally right now. A friend of mine is going through an emotional time and it affected me emotionally and on the morning I was going to finally get to spend some time with her and be there for her I found out some terrible news. I was trying ever so hard to compartmentalize that my husband had told me but I couldn’t. I was in shock at first, then I was numb and then I cried. 20130607_080837_resized

My husband was looking at his phone and he saw on Facebook that my cousin’s grandmother was in the hospital. Well my first thought was it has to be his other grandmother. I couldn’t remember if she was alive or not so I was trying to make myself believe that she was and that it wasn’t my grandmother, even though in my gut I knew what was true. I took my Samsung Galaxy S4 in my hand and looked at the Facebook post that my husband saw and then looked at my cousin’s Facebook page and he hadn’t updated anything for a few days. I looked at my aunt’s Facebook page and she hasn’t updated for a few days. I looked at my other cousin’s page and she hadn’t updated. So, I made a phone call to my mom. As soon as she answered the phone I knew it was my Memaw because my mom was a mess. I could just tell in the sound of her voice. The first words out of my mouth were unkind. I was irritated, upset, in shock, but I should have remained calm. I wanted to know why she hadn’t told me. I should have been more worried about her and her feelings.

She told me what was going on and for the next two days my phone never left my hand except to recharge and you all know that I can go a while because I have the Mophie that Verizon gave me too.  I was texting left and right. Answering my phone left and right and I was looking up webpages, playing candy crush as a distraction. I can work from my phone I was looking at photos and downloading photos from skype. I mean I was trying as much as I could to think of anything other than my grandmother and family. Then I finally decided with my husband that I needed to go to Texas. He bought my ticket, he got my car. I’m here. I checked in on my phone I mean I’m really relying on my Samsung Galaxy S4 to keep me connected. To keep my photos from my kids coming in, to keep my facetime with them from anywhere I am. It’s amazing what you can do on a G4 phone and all the apps at our fingertips. I couldn’t function right now without it. I need to be connected. I need to be able to receive pictures and letters from my children like this one.

letter

Yes I’m writing this post on my laptop because of how fast I type, but I would be lost right now without my phone.

That’s my current connection with the Samsung Galaxy S4

Capture Life: Samsung Galaxy 3G WiFi Camera, Map, and Park Lines #ATTSeattle

June 25, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

AT&T loaned me the Samsung with Wi-Fi capabilities, no I take that back it has even more than Wi-Fi capabilities, it is just like a phone without a microphone, so I can’t make phone calls with it, but I can take photos, edit them and upload them anywhere. The Samsung Galaxy Camera went to Disneyland with my family and I. We used it to take photos, as a map of Disneyland and for the park wait lines. Since the Samsung Galaxy Camera runs on Android OS, we were able to download apps so it became a toy for the whole family to enjoy.

20130426_190519

Let’s start at the beginning though. We took a road trip and shared it on Facebook, Instagram and twitter as we traveled thanks to this Samsung Galaxy Camera that connects to the internet. It has a sim card in it and as long as there is an AT&T wireless connection then we shared our photos.

20130426_191107

Then we finally made it to Disneyland and here is our first photo

20130504_120404

I downloaded apps just like I would have on my phone, but the screen is so much brighter and it’s so much easier to look at out in the sun than your phone is. We checked out the wait lines for all of the rides. We found out where all of the princess were hiding out and took the path choosing the roller coasters that had the shortest wait lines along the way.

20130504_12500620130504_12542120130507_120032

We took a spin in the tea cups, because the line was so short.

20130507_122017

And along the way we ran into peter pan.

 20130507_122502

We shrank and became as little as the flowers then used pixie dust to grow back into our normal sizes.

20130507_14310720130507_143620

My son fell in love with Ariel and asked her to marry him. 20130507_145451

She reminded him that she was already married, so when he met Rapunzel he asked her first if she was married.

20130507_152655

As you can see he was a little defeated. 20130507_145848

Sleeping Beauty told them a story and then we were in tears leaving the park.

 20130509_110044

It was an amazing family trip all captured with the Samsung Galaxy 3G Camera

Product Description

Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 Now In Purple Giveaway

June 5, 2013 by Momstart 99 Comments

Sprint has a new color in the Samsung Galaxy S3, it’s Amethyst Purple and they gave us one to giveaway. Here are a few snippets from my review a few months ago. Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S3 is FANTASTIC. It’s lightweight, shares with a back bump and has a great camera. The camera is so much better than my last phone. The 1.9MP front-facing camera is a great addition. The fact that one could take 720p HD videos from the front camera is very impressive. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a great multimedia player and it played some full 1080p videos. I like the size of the phone and the way it feels in my hand. My husband first said he thought it was really big but I think he’s getting used to this size of phone since his new phone is about the same size and weight. The screen is in HD and it looks fabulous. It’s also enormous. It was very easy for me to adjust to the android software and I was able to easily add all of my social networking apps.

Recognizes Hand and Eye Gestures

Since you can enable each motion gesture individually, you can customize the Galaxy S III to use only the gestures you want. To enable hand gestures and learn how to use them, go to Settings > Motion. Check the Motion activation box to show the available motion gestures. Touch the name of any gesture to view a tutorial. Smart Stay: The phone tracks your eyes, so as long as you’re looking at it, the display won’t dim or turn off. If the “Turn Over to Mute” gesture is enabled, you can turn the phone over to mute the ringer of an incoming call, alarm, or alert tone. Direct Call: If you’ve got a contact on your screen, there’s no need to hit call: simply hold the device up to your face and the number will be dialed automatically. To take a screen shot, place the edge of your palm against one side of the screen and swipe your hand across the screen to the other side. While a video or song is playing, cover the screen with your palm to pause the media. And of course you also have voice. S-Voice: That’s S for Samsung, not Siri. This feature allows you to control your phone through voice, eg to turn up the volume, and to ask it questions. WP_20130605_003

Syncing Across Devices
All Share Play and Cast: Share your S3′s screen to a TV, or use the screen as a remote control. Pop Up Play: Play video in a window on any homescreen. Music Hub automatically syncs with your music library (iTunes or Windows® Media Player), then scans your songs and matches them with the titles in the Music Hub catalog so they play at optimized audio quality and reduces the upload time. Unmatched songs are directly uploaded so that you can access all of your recordings, even personal ones. Any time you edit your playlists or buy new music, your collection is automatically updated across all of your devices.
