Give the Gift of Pur Green Pur Water Filtration System

December 20, 2010 by Momstart 2 Comments

Pur Water Filtration SystemThinking of ways to give green gifts this year for Christmas, here is another great idea from Summer.

Give a gift of Pur green by giving a water filtration system. There are several things I like about the Pur water filtration system []. I really like that you can purchase a standalone pitcher or a faucet attachment. I also like that Pur has an alliance with the Children’s Safe Drinking Water campaign, so you not only help our receiver with the gift of health through Pur water but you help the environment, and child around the world who need clean, safe drinking water.

To assist in cleaning up our (as a society’s) act you’ll need somewhere to store the water you create with Pur. For this, I would recommend accompanying your present with a Klean Kanteen. Both of these green gifts are a great idea of the person on your list whose New Year resolution is to lose weight or get healthier.

Here on Mom Start, we’ve worked with many different water filtration brands. Using plastic water bottles leaves a carbon footprint, even though they are recycled it uses resources to recycle them. Using plastic water bottles also takes up a lot of space and can be dangerous. If the water bottles are left in the car and they freeze or get too hot then the chemicals from the bottles are released into the water and you are then drinking those harmful chemicals. So reduce your carbon footprint or help a friend lose some of theirs by getting them a Pur Water Filtration System.

Proctor & Gamble Super Savings Every Day Solutions

September 5, 2010 by Momstart 1 Comment

Last Sunday in the newspaper there were tons of coupons. I think we found at least three different inserts, one of them being the P & G coupon insert, but if you missed the insert, you could scour your grocery stores and find a few that might have a week old paper, or you can use the Proctor and Gamble website, Everyday Solutions.

P&G

Another way to save is by looking at product packaging. Procter & Gamble (P&G) is  inserting coupons from various brands inside specially marked products. In time for back-to-school shopping and for just every day, P&G  provides the tools and savings needed to improve and simplify the shopping experience. You can find extra savings when buying trusted brands like Olay®, Pringles®, PUR®, Tampax®, Tide® and Luvs®. These products will present specially marked packages with money-saving coupons (values range from $2 to $55; when combined, it can add up to $90 of savings). Different from traditional coupons offering new items, these offers will provide savings in products that consumers already know and trust. Every three months, additional brands will be offering in-pack coupon savings*, so log on to www.pgeverydaysolutions.com/inpackcoupons for more information.

Save up to $55 in coupons by printing them off, you can also sign up to receive savings and free sample notices from their monthly newsletter when they are available.

I received a few product samples from P&G in exchange for this post.

Provide Clean Water by buying a PUR water filter #giveaway

December 22, 2009 by Momstart 456 Comments

We are lucky in America to have clean water. I never really considered this fact until this year with some controversy that came up. So now that it’s on my mind I feel like maybe I should help. And if the only way I can help is to support companies that are out there making a difference then that’s what I’m going to do.

4,000 children in developing countries die every day from illness and disease related to unsafe drinking water.  PUR along with its not-for-profit partner, the Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW), is committed to alleviating this global crisis by providing clean drinking water to those in need.

In January, which is right around the corner,  PUR is partnering with “Summit on the Summit” (SOTS), a celebrity climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro featuring Jessica Biel, Alexandra Cousteau and others that will raise awareness and funds for clean drinking water efforts. Find out more HERE.

Dr. Greg Allgood, Founder and Director of CSDW, will be joining the climb as the water authority, educating the climbers on the global water crisis and what is being done to help.

PUR is asking for our help:

  • When you buy a PUR, you’re not only helping your family get clean water, but a family across the world.
  • 1 System = 1 Week: For every PUR system purchase, one week of clean drinking water is provided to a child in the developing world through CSDW. To-date, CSDW has already provided 1.8 billion liters of clean water to children and their families around the world.

Can you imagine not having clean water? I can’t, I’m a sad spoiled person that hates drinking the water that comes out of the tap at my dad’s house. Their water comes from the local lake and I can taste the dirt. Shame on me for being so picky. There is water out there that is so foul it makes children sick. So let’s make a difference.

Why Is PUR a Smart Choice for Families?

Click to enlarge· By simply using a PUR water filter, you will remove many of the common contaminants found in drinking water. Including: 94% of atrazine, 98% of lead and other metals, 99.9% of microbial cysts and 96-99% of pharmaceuticals.

· Switching from bottled water to filtered water and a reusable bottle can save one person up to $600 a year and eliminate up to 3,200 plastic bottles.

PUR is offering one of my readers a PUR Pitcher in celebration of this upcoming event!
