Our Family Night Digiorno Design-A Pizza #DesignAPizza #Digiorno #shop #cbias

June 16, 2014 by Momstart 15 Comments

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

We love family night and pizza is one of our favorite foods. It’s been my favorite food sine I was a teenager. It’s the type of food that I can eat and eat and eat because I love it so much. In my glory days I could eat an entire pizza and never gain an ounce. Well with our family everyone has their own favorite ingredient so it’s usually a compromise of who gets what on their pizza. With DiGiorno Design-A-Pizza available at Walmart at an every day low price, everyone can design their own slice the way they want it. And letting the kids participate in making the pizza is more family time.

DiGiorno Design-A-Pizza
There are three different DiGiorno Design-A-Pizza options to choose from.

WP_20140612_09_26_14_Pro

DIGIORNO® Design-A-Pizza Pepperoni & Sausage with Peppers; Chicken, Green Peppers and Red Onion; or Spinach, Tomato and Red Onion with Pepperoni.

WP_20140610_14_41_22_ProWP_20140610_14_41_04_Pro

We picked out the Digiorno Design a Pizza Kit Pepperoni and Sausage with Peppers and Onions. I picked this one because Miles loves sausage, Zoe loves Pepperoni and I love all of it. These kits are perfect for diverse palates and taste buds since everyone can create their own “perfect slice.

WP_20140614_10_43_40_ProThe pizza comes with just cheese on it already.

WP_20140614_10_44_41_Pro

Then the other ingredients that you get to add are in another bag. These are the options we had to put on our Design A Pizza, pizza.

WP_20140614_10_44_25_Pro

Then you can let the kids design their own pizza slice. I let both kids take a turn.

WP_20140614_10_48_58_Pro

As I thought Zoe put on the pepperoni and some extra cheese.

WP_20140614_10_52_10_Pro

Then Miles took a turn and put on the sausage and some extra cheese. Then we continued with family night by eating our creation and then playing games and watching TV together.

Tyson® Grilled & Ready® Products “Just Add This” Program: Grilled Chicken Flatbread Pizza Recipe

January 21, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

I was compensated by Tyson Foods to produce this post.

By Lindsey

My husband Mack has 3 main food groups: tacos, hamburgers, and most importantly pizza. A picky eater to say the least and one of the only veggies he acknowledges are potatoes. With the new year like most Americans we once again strive to eat better, especially since I ‘let myself go’ after my November wedding into what I ended up referring to as ‘no carb left behind’ December. This year Tyson Foods is helping out too with their “Just Add This” program of clever swaps and tips to help turn your temporary diet into a new healthy lifestyle. Their goal is to just add a better-for-you ingredient, like Tyson® Grilled & Ready® chicken to a favorite salad, or just add a ten minute power walk to your daily routine and be on the way to a better lifestyle. My husband and I have developed some bad habits of going to the grocery store with good healthy intensions, purchasing great fresh products, and after a long day of work and no desire to cook ending up with a delivery pizza and wasted health food. Tyson Foods has solved both of these issues with their Tyson® Grilled & Ready® chicken, and not just for me and my fresh salads with Tyson® Grilled & Ready® chicken breast strips, but now also for Mack with this great recipe Tyson Foods has shared with us for Grilled Chicken Flatbread Pizza.

clip_image002

This isn’t ‘chicken fragments’ like you get with most ready to eat brands-these were nice size chunks of roasted chicken as if you had done all the hard work yourself. As an added bonus, Tyson® Grilled & Ready® products are in space saving bags for the freezer so your freezer isn’t storing more plastic bag than tasty chicken. The bag fit really well in my small veggie section on the side of Mack’s pizza storage area. The recipe came out perfectly and even earned a Mack rating of 4 out of 5 doughnuts on his doughnut tasty scale.

Three Cheese Sausage Fresh Mozzarella Pizza Recipe

June 26, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Last Sunday I was so sick. I was so sick that when I had to get up and walk to the door I got sick before even making it to the door. Luckily, it was my friend at the door and she took my daughter with her. I spent the rest of the day sleeping and wishing I would feel better. My husband picked up my daughter and my amazing friend also gave us something to eat. She made some home made pizza dough and made enough to give to us. My husband split the dough and made one pizza that night. Tonight, I actually felt like cooking and used the other half of the dough and I made this amazing three Cheese Sausage Fresh Mozzarella Pizza.

Domino’s Pizza Dough Making Process

November 7, 2011 by Momstart 8 Comments

I had too many trip requests all come in at the same time and had to find someone to go on the Dominos Mom Blogger Press Junket. I found my friend Connie, from Miscfinds4u.com Here is her experience on Domino’s Pizza Dough Making Process.

By Connie:

I got the chance to visit a Domino’s Pizza Distribution Center in Michigan a few weeks ago and see the dough making process in person. I had no idea that Domino’s makes their own dough.

Dominos Press Trip-grouprev1The dough is made fresh at Distribution Centers across the US and Canada. Each DC makes dough 1 to 6 days a week depending on the number of stores it supports. The DC I visited makes dough 3 days a week and supports 275 stores. They break down and clean the dough making room at the end of every day and anytime the line is shut down for more than 2 hours. It takes about 4 hours to break down and scrub the room and when they start their next production day, they sanitize everything again before production begins.

It doesn’t take very many people to make massive amounts of dough when most of it is mechanized. It’s a pretty impressive process. Check out the video for details on how the dough goes from a silo of flour to finished dough loaded onto refrigerated trucks for next day delivery.

Some things I found interesting about the process:

· Dough is rejected at the quality control/template station if it’s not the correct size/weight. After working the table for some time, the men working there can tell by feel if the dough is even an ounce off. The dough is tossed into a reject bin and then sent back through the system so there’s very little waste.

· It takes 3 hours for the dough to cool from 80 degrees in the mixing room to 30 degrees in the proofing room. The dough is stacked to allow moisture to evaporate so that it stays fresher, longer. Once the dough is chilled, it’s maintained at that temperature until it’s delivered to the walk-in refrigerator at the store.

floursilo· The DC has two flour silos – each holds 55K pounds of flour – and an oil tank that pumps oil into the production room.

· There are no dough extenders or preservatives, so the dough made today is in a store within about 24 hours.

· The workers in the production team are trained to do every function within the Distribution Center and because they work in cold temperatures, they’re rotated every 2 hours so.

· I was also surprised to find out that the Distribution Center stocks everything a store needs to run from ingredients to cleaning supplies.

· Dough trays are returned to the DC and cleaned to be reused time after time.

· Domino’s is in the process of changing to “greener” cleaning chemicals.

My overall impressions were that the center was clean, very noisy, and appeared to run well. I was impressed to find out the dough was made with fresh, natural ingredients and that no dough extenders were used. I feel much bettering eating Domino’s Pizza know that I know more about them.

I’ll share some more of the experience with you over the next week. It was a fabulous look inside the pizza chains operation. Special thanks to Louise from Mom Start for allowing me to guest post.

Pizza Hut you are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. I love Pizza Hut. We try different brands of pizza, I’ve blogged about different brands of pizza. But, I always come back to my favorite. That’s right, it’s yummy Pizza Hut. Now, the last time I ordered pizza from there. I had a heart attack. I mean, did the prize of pizza really get that high. Remember when you can get to large one tipping pizza’s for 15.99? Was it really that long ago? Well, Pizza hut must have read my mind and realized that a price reduction was in order. Not as low as in my dreams but in reality that price was in 1994. So wanna hear the scoop?

So go crazy! Get the largest size with as many toppings as you want. We’ll still only get a very plain pizza because I have a picky family member but, that doesn’t mean you should hold back.

"We are excited to kick off 2010 with a delicious value for our customers," said Scott Bergren, Pizza Hut President and Chief Concept Officer. "Any way you slice it, no other pizza can compare to the satisfaction and taste you get from Pizza Hut. Our customers have known and loved our signature recipes for years, and now they can get their favorite pizzas from Pizza Hut for just $10."

For ten bucks, pizza fans will be able to pick any size pizza they want, select from more than a dozen topping options, and choose from Pizza Hut’s signature crusts – including Pan Pizza, Hand Tossed Style Pizza, and Thin ‘N Crispy® Pizza. All Pizza Hut specialty pizzas, such as Meat Lovers® and Supreme, are also included in the deal. For a dollar more, customers can enjoy Pizza Hut’s signature crust, Stuffed Crust Pizza.

Pizza Hut’s $10 offer will be available for a limited time and no coupon is required.

Those in need of pizza inspiration can go to pizzahut.com where they can build the pizza of their dreams, ask @pizzahut what to order at twitter.com/pizzahut, or request suggestions by writing on our wall at facebook.com/pizzahut. Or you can always ask me. I worked in pizza sales for about seven years.

November 5, 2009 by Momstart 2 Comments

When you order pizza at Dominos it comes in a fun box decorated by Hasbro. It’s a game. One of Hasbro’s games are on 12 inch pizza boxes. Dominos sent me a 12 inch box with Cranium on it. (had no idea that Hasbro purchased Cranium), and a coupon for a free trio item.

Bringing Families back together at the table is important to both Dominos and Hasbro. America needs to be getting back into life. We need to be engaging our families with conversation, smiles, and fun. To help us do this Hasbro and Dominos have come up with many ways to save on entertainment.

First, choose from three different food combinations for 5.55. You can order BreadBowl Pastas, medium one-topping pizzas or oven baked sandwiches.

The Pizza box will have a family game board.

There will be Hasbro coupons for on-line Dominos customers

~ with any order from now until December 21st customers will receive 30.00 in money saving coupons from Hasbro.
