Peppa Pig The Cheeky Little Piggy from the UK US Toy Line

September 15, 2012 by Momstart 6 Comments

PeppaPigLast year, Peppa Pig, the award-winning animated series for preschoolers, leapt across the pond to delight U.S. audiences on Nick Jr. She’s pink cute and ready to have lots of fun.

The charming program follows the daily activities of Peppa, her brother George, Mommy Pig and Daddy Pig as they play games, go to school, take family trips and, best of all, jump in muddy puddles! Parents and kids will enjoy watching the show together; Peppa’s lighthearted, laugh-out-loud approach to storytelling is truly enjoyable for both children and parents. Best of all: the show celebrates the values of family, friendship, fun – and humor!

While I was sitting here writing about the New line of Peppa Pig toy line I realized that Ashley reviewed some Peppa Pig toys and episodes earlier this year.

Peppa Pig does a great job of entertaining children. The animation is simple and moves fairly slowly. I think this is great as it doesn’t over stimulate younger viewers. There seems to be a little something for all younger children. There is clear descriptive language that helps little ones build their vocabulary, there are simple cause and effect situations (great for helping children understand causal relationships), and stories that focus on family, friendship… and FUN!

Peppa Pig airs on Nick Jr from 12-12:20 pm Monday-Friday and 2-2:30 on Saturday and Sunday.  You can also check out Peppa Pig online and on Facebook. Now for the toys??? The new toys that are on the holiday list.

imageThe Peppa Pig Sip and Oink Tea Set includes Peppa House teapot with lid, George sugar bowl, Peppa milk pitcher, two teaspoons, two saucers, and two adorable teacups. If you lift the teacups you will find a funny surprise. You can put them on your nose because they look like a pig’s snout.

imagePeppa Pig Peppa’s Schoolhouse set comes with Peppa and Madame Gazelle figures, bench, desk and easel. Features include peek ‘n surprise desk and easel and swinging bell on top of schoolhouse.

imagePeppa Pig 2-Pack Figures includes Peppa & Suzie Sheep! This figure pack has the 2 fully-articulated figures and also includes a play piece with surprise flip-over feature…Peppa, Suzie Sheep and a bicycle! All figures fit in all Peppa Pig vehicles and playsets (Each Sold Separately). Collect them all!

Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List.

imageIt’s almost Christmas, and Peppa Pig and her little brother, George, are mailing their letters to Santa. All of Peppa’s friends are there, too, and each one tells Peppa the special gift on their list. Peppa is excited to help Daddy Pig and Mummy Pig pick out and decorate their enormous tree, and she can’t wait for the big day to arrive. But little does she know that a surprise is in store on Christmas Eve, and that she may play a part in saving the day! Peppa is the endearing star of Peppa Pig — a BAFTA-winning preschool TV series that has been a long-running success in the U.K. and is now winning devoted fans in the U.S. with daily showings on Nick Jr. Peppa and her little brother, her daddy, her mummy, and her many friends arrive at Candlewick just in time for the holiday season, poised for much muddy puddle jumping and more new adventures to come.

We received samples that we are going to donate to our annual toy drive.

Peppa Pig – A Cute Little Friend with Fun Family and Friends

April 11, 2012 by Momstart 16 Comments

By: Ashley

With all of the cleaning, chaos, and clutter that comes with moving, I have let Atticus watch A LOT more TV than usual. I’ve learned (or maybe “accepted” is the better word) that TV is not the worst thing in the world… it really just matters what is being watched. That said, I have been really happy with Peppa Pig. At first I had never heard of the cute little pig who captivates audience with a perky little British accent. Why a British accent? Peppa Pig has been a favorite in the UK for quite some time. Last year, Peppa and her family made their way onto Nick, Jr. in the US and have been a hit! IMG_6978

I like Peppa Pig because, please forgive my candid comment, it isn’t annoying. Yep, I said it. Many children’s shows can have odd voices, or scenarios that simply don’t make sense.

I have to admit that my FAVORITE thing about Peppa Pig is the humor. I am not kidding when I say that I chuckled more than once or twice over some of the silly situations that come up on Peppa Pig. I actually just finished watching an episode called Cleaning the Car with Atticus and couldn’t help but laugh when Peppa accidentally squirted her mother and little brother (George) with the water hose! It’s great to watch silly things that I can laugh about with Atticus and know that there is also a positive message. No, not squirting your family with a water hose! (Though there is a time and a place… ;)) The Pig family worked together to clean the car… and had a good time doing it. THAT is something that I want him to hold on to. IMG_6980

Great messages and great educational benefits are what make Peppa Pig something that I’m comfortable letting Atticus watch. Thanks to Peppa Pig and her family… they’ve helped our family have fun while working on our own adventure! You should check it out too! Don’t know where? Check your TV listings, order some DVDs online, or even go to Nick Jr. online to meet Peppa and her family. We’ve loved the DVD and goodies that we received for this review. Hopefully we’ll see some more of the Peppa goodies here in the US soon! IMG_6982
