This week is national shoe week. From May 21-25 it’s National Shoe Week isn’t that like the best week ever, I mean it’s a free pass to go out and go shoe shopping right? Well it should be, and your one stop shop for shoes would be any Simon Mall and our closest one is Northgate Mall. Fore more information on deals and happenings at Northgate check out the Northgate Mall’s Facebook page.

Why Northgate Mall for Shoes?

So many stores have shoes…

The major department stores Macy’s and Nordstrom’s which are right across from each other and Nordstrom’s has all of my favorite brands

The Specialty stores have lots of shoes in them. Claire’s has lots of really cute summer styles, flip flops, and saddles my daughter could spend hours looking around in Claire’s.

DSC00642Even most of the clothing stores have lots of shoes right now, summer sandals are on sale and flip flops line the walls with all the swim suits.

And the kids aren’t left without a selection.

While we were looking around we found a pair of roller skates inside Sketchers I want a pair of roller skates.

What did we end up buying? We got shoes for both Miles and Zoe.

I was compensated with a gift card to share my experience and opinions for National Shoe Week and what you can find at Northgate Mall.

Northgate Mall’s Moms Night Out May 10th

May 7, 2012 by Momstart 15 Comments

Seattle area Simon Malls invite moms to let their hair down at the 3rd Annual National Mom’s Nite Out. It’s going to be a fun filled night out with plenty to do, plenty to eat, and fun all around. I went with my friend Ashley last year and we had a blast. It was such a great night to just hang out and have fun. I hope you get to get out for a night out with the girls every now and then. Every mom deserves some pampering. 1. MomsNightOutLogo2012

Celebrate "National Mom’s Nite Out" at Northgate Mall on Thursday, May 10th from 5pm – 8pm.  Attendees will experience an evening filled with pampering, refreshments, entertainment, beauty services, and a LIVE Fashion Show presented by Macy’s!

Fifteen million moms are expected to take part in this national event. Moms across the United States will unite in celebrating motherhood with each other via local and national events as well as cyber celebrations. Organized by Maria Bailey, CEO of BSM Media, author and Mom Talk Radio host, National Mom’s Nite Out unites social media groups, companies, local playgroups, mom bloggers and networks in giving moms a well-deserved night off. Bailey organized the first National Mom’s Nite Out after watching moms take care of everyone else on Mother’s Day, but never themselves.

Mother Daughter Date: A Northgate Mall Excursion with Zoe

February 17, 2012 by Momstart 16 Comments

Zoe and I had a Mother daughter day last weekend. We spent the morning together at Northgate Mall in North Seattle. My goal was to get her nails done, this girl loves makeup and everything girly much more than I do, so I knew it would be fun for her.

We arrived at Northgate Mall before it opened and walked from one end all the way to the food court. There we found that See’s Candies was open early. Of course it was before Valentine’s Day and they were open extended hours because chocolate is such a popular gift for Valentine’s Day. The good thing about See’s is you can go in for a free sample and that was the beginning of a magical day with my daughter. I had a chocolate caramel and she had a chocolate vanilla truffle. YUM. After the chocolate delights we walked back to the other end of the mall to get our nails done.

image

We went into Nail Art, and they made our nails very beautiful but whatever they did with my daughter’s nails it didn’t last more than 4 hours. Each nail peeled off one by one. It was just polish but I really had hoped it would have lasted longer. Maybe it’s because she’s a busy little girl using her hands all day, who knows?

image

I think the most important part of the day was making great memories with my daughter. We were able to talk to each other without any interruptions, I found out she likes one of the boys in her class more than any of the other kids, he likes to laugh at her jokes. I also found out that she really likes to play Candy Land. We had a great day and enjoyed looking in quite a few stores and had lunch there. She loves going into Claire’s and I love going into Romy’s and Victoria Secret. She also loves the shoe stores and lotion stores. Because we were short on time we ended up having a slice of pizza. Northgate Mall has everything a daughter and mother could want in a mall.

I received a gift card to use for getting myself organized, I ended up using it to get a few clothes I needed for my blogging business trips. I’m a Northgate Mall Blog Ambassador.

Santa Photos at Northgate Mall

December 13, 2011 by Momstart 27 Comments

While I was out of town my family went to Northgate Mall in North Seattle to get Santa photos taken. My husband had to get a sweater for my son and he purchased it at Gymboree who was having a 50% off sale. He’s adorable. My daughter’s dress is from JCPenney.

image

They went on a Saturday to get the photos with Santa and it was surprisingly only a 30 minute wait, which on a Saturday I think is amazing. My son was so hyped up about getting to see Santa. He had been asking me for a week to take him and any time we were near a Santa he wanted to go see him. Saturday was the first time we actually had time to take him, and guess what he did. He freaked out and was quite upset about having to sit next to Santa.

image

It’s a classic photo, tears, upset, and Zoe is as happy as she can be. Daddy did have a little chat with Miles and after the chat we got a smile out of him. But he’s still leaning as far away from Santa as he could.

image

It’s great that they went because the kids told Santa what they want for Christmas. Zoe wants a doll house and Miles wants candy. I have to say he’s not getting candy but she is getting a doll house. I’m sure Miles will love what he’s getting he just doesn’t realize he wants it. Compared to another mall Northgate Mall has a great price on photo packages.

image

Thank you Northgate Mall for this experience taking photos with Santa. Northgate mall covered the cost of the photos as part of the Northgate Mall ambassador program.

Getting Red Carpet Ready at Northgate Simon Mall

November 29, 2011 by Momstart 10 Comments

Yesterday, I should have stayed home and worked all day. I really need to get some posts scheduled for my trips this weekend and the next. But instead I spent the day getting ready for my trip to New York. I’m walking the red carpet again, this time with DreamWorks and the movie War Horse. So instead of buying a dress, I bought a coat, but I found such a good deal, that I ended up getting a dress and a coat. So where did I spend my day, I spent the day walking the halls of Northgate Mall. I had a snack, my hair done and found some fabulous clothing.

If you keep up with me on Facebook, I posted both of these coats and asked you guys for some help in picking out a coat. The one vote I had was for the red one and I didn’t see that vote until after I purchased the black one.

 WP_000319WP_000320

I bought a new coat because my current coat is not a dress coat. I really thought having a nice dress coat would be better, plus ever since I saw my sister had a nice black dress coat I wanted one too. While I was there and enjoying my kid less time I looked at dress too. WP_000322WP_000325

I think the only reason I ended up getting a dress was because I got the coat for $37.00. Amazing I know, you would think that all the sales would be over, but just because black Friday came and went doesn’t mean you won’t find a good deal. You’ll find fantastic deals at Northgate Mall in Seattle.

I got my hair cut at Regis and you know I bought a coffee and the best part was I just enjoyed my experience today in the mall without kids.

This is not a compensated post but I am a Northgate Mall Ambassador.
