Nature Made Kids First Vitamins Benefit Make-A-Wish

October 25, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

We received samples

When it comes to getting kids to eat a variety we all know that it can be quite difficult. My son eats anything I cook but hates most veggies and won’t touch fruit unless I tell him that’s all he gets. Most of the time he says he’s not hungry after all which is when I can tell he really is really hungry because then he eats his fruit. Because I don’t want to spend all my time worrying about the nutrition they get I do give them vitamins and always have. image

Nature Made® KIDS FIRST has a whole collection of vitamins for kids. KIDS First is a line of Nature Made vitamins, minerals and supplements designed for children and adolescents ages 4 – 18. Kids can enjoy getting the essential daily nutritional support they may be lacking from their diet, with delicious, easy to chew Nature Made KIDS FIRST Gummies. Nature Made Fish Oil Gummy Vitamins

June 22, 2013 by Momstart 1 Comment

I received a sample of Nature Made Fish Oil because I’m a Nature Made brand ambassador.  I’ve actually tried it before I received this sample from them to review I really don’t like the taste of Fish oil. It’s not in my mouth even that long but I still really dislike the flavor. The nutritional benefits, well I’m not nutritionist and I’ve never had a doctor tell me to take it before but I can list the benefits here that you would imagefind on the Nature Made’s website:

Benefits:

Fish is a rich, natural source of “good fats.” Specifically, two types of Omega-3 fatty acids Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) serve a beneficial role in heart health, cellular function and the body’s normal immune and inflammatory responses.†

EPA and DHA fatty acids are acutely involved in maintaining cellular health. They’re primarily responsible for effective cell function, normal growth and proper development.† Scientifically-supportive yet inconclusive research shows that the consumption of EPA and DHA may also reduce the risk of developing heart disease. Additionally, they can benefit eye function and help maintain healthy triglyceride levels already in the normal range.† Triglycerides are stored fats in the body.

image2 Servings a day:

It’s important to be aware of our Omega-3 EPA/DHA intake because many of us don’t consume enough of these heart-healthy nutrients by eating fish regularly. Due to the importance nutrition experts place on the consumption of EPA and DHA, they have proposed specific intake guidelines.

Current American Heart Association guidelines suggest consuming 2 servings of fatty fish per week, which is equivalent to about 500 mg of EPA and DHA per day for healthy adults, or 1000 mg of EPA and DHA per day for people with documented heart health concerns. Health care professionals may elect to prescribe higher amounts to patients for therapeutic use.

EPA/DHA content varies among commonly-consumed fish. For example, two servings of Rainbow Trout or Sardines provide about 2,000 mg of EPA/DHA, while two servings of Atlantic Salmon provides around 3,500mg. When determining our fish oil dosage of EPA/DHA, Nature Made chose the Omega-3 equivalent of some of the most EPA/DHA-rich fatty fish. Nature Made Fish Oil supplements taken daily for a week provide approximately 3,500 mg of EPA/DHA. This dosage fulfills the amount of EPA/DHA found in the American Heart Association’s recommendation of 2 servings of fatty fish per week.

What to look for in a label:

The label should contain a guarantee of purity and list the specific species of fish used to make the oil. The label should also state the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids not just the “fish oil” amount, and the total daily recommended amount of EPA and DHA should be at least 500 mg.

Nature Made offers pure, concentrated fish oil formulas that taken daily for a week provide the heart-healthy Omega-3 equivalent of 2 servings of fatty fish recommended by the American Heart Association. For optimal absorption, Nature Made recommends taking fish oil supplements with a meal.

Nature Made Fish Oil supplements include: Our Burp-Less varieties are prepared with a special coating to help prevent a fishy aftertaste and odor. Our Fish Oil Pearls are easy-to-swallow and the smallest of our #1 pharmacist-recommended fish oil supplements. Our 100% Vegetarian Omega-3 supplement makes it safe and easy to get the EPA and DHA your body needs if seafood isn’t part of your diet.

My first thoughts were I know it’s supposed to be very good for you but this one I think I will pass on. After reading all of that information, I’m thinking I was wrong and should start taking it every day.

** Based on 2011 Pharmacist Times survey.
†† The ‘Recommended Amount’ equates to approximately 3500mg of omega-3 fatty acids EPA/DHA found in two servings of fatty fish per week, as recommended by leading heart health experts.

Nature Made Vitamin C Adult Gummies

June 22, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

I’m a Nature Made ambassador and they send me samples and ask that I share them with you. This month they sent me a sample of Vitamin C Adult Gummies. I like the gummies and I like using vitamin C. Growing up whenever we started to get sick my step mom would load us up on extra Vitamin C and zinc. I have no idea about either one of them except I’ve heard that Vitamin C is really good for you and I think it’s something you can’t OD on. But I’m no doctor and don’t pretend to be so I can’t offer medical advice of any kind. When it comes to vitamins and exercise please consult your doctor. I do however wish imageto share this information with you from the Nature Made website.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect against cell damage and supports immune systems. By playing an integral part in the creation of collagen (the protein substance that is the basis for the body’s skin, bone, teeth and other connective tissue) Vitamin C helps promotes healthy teeth and gums. Its primary antioxidant partner is vitamin E. It also helps the body absorb plant sources of iron.

Because it’s a water-soluble nutrient, our bodies either use it or lose it. Vitamin C can’t be made by the body or stored for later, therefore, Vitamin C must be consumed and replenished daily. There are plenty of whole foods rich in Vitamin C, and the recommended daily dosage is 200mg – 1000mg. Nature Made softgels, tablets and chewable Vitamin C are a powerful partner for your entire family’s immune health.

From The Makers of Nature Made® and SOYJOY VOOTS Veggie Fruit Tarts Giveaway

October 20, 2012 by Momstart 47 Comments

The makers of Nature Made® and SOYJOY have created Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts.  Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts are a children’s supplement made from 11 real fruits and vegetables, which are dehydrated, crushed, blended with Vitamin C and other ingredients, and made into delicious chewable berry-flavored tarts that kids love. The product even contains the Vitamin C antioxidant power of three full servings of fruits and veggies and my kids think they are candy.

imageVoots Veggie-Fruit Tarts are available as of September 22.

To the kids these are just candy. Zoe has been taking one to school every day and Miles has been having one for a snack. I suppose with it being cold season and that I believe that an extra dose of vitamin C is helpful to the immune system it can’t hurt for them to eat them. Of course, I won’t let them eat them like candy, they only get one package a day, so I spend the rest of the day saying no, you already had some. LOL if only it was that easy to get their vitamins in them when they were babies.

To me they taste really tart, I actually don’t like them but like I said the kids think they are candy.

imageConvenient Single-Serve Packets

Voots supplements are packaged in convenient single serve packets (two tarts per packet) so kids can enjoy them anytime – in the morning, with dinner, or even on-the-go in school lunch boxes or backpacks.

Key Features

  • Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts contain the Vitamin C Antioxidant power of 3 servings of fruits and vegetables in two berry flavored chewable tarts.*
  • Real berries, apples, carrots, zucchinis, and many more fruits and veggies are dried, crushed, blended with other ingredients, and made into Voots.
  • Vitamin C and other compounds naturally occurring in fruits and vegetables have antioxidant activity that may help support the body’s defense systems and may help keep the body healthy.**
  • No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
*Voots contains 60 mg Vitamin C per serving. Voots are not intended to replace your daily intake of fruits and vegetables, which are important sources of fiber and additional nutrients.
