The Nashville Finale & Interview with Producers Callie Khouri & Dee Johnson #ABCTVevent

May 13, 2014 by Momstart 3 Comments

Spending time with ABC Studios is actually hard for me. Why? Because I LOVE TV. I just don’t have time to watch everything that I want to watch and then they go and show me episodes of their TV shoes and then I want to see what’s going to happen next and the Season Finale of Nashville is going to leave you wanting more. So this is for the Nashville fans out there.

With the season finale happening tomorrow night, I can share with you a little about what the Executive Producers Callie Khouri & Dee Johnson, and actor Eric Close (“Teddy Conrad”) shared with the bloggers about the show and what happens in the finale.

image

Good news is Nashville will be returning it was renewed and we will find out who is going to be the bad guy, I mean girl or both and there are choices that need to be made. How does one choose from two great options. Oh do you know what I’m talking about?

In the Nashville Season 2 finale "On the Other Hand," as Will Lexington’s album climbs the chart with the help of Jeff Fordham’s deep pockets, Rayna enlists Teddy’s help to plan a huge, free concert at LP Field to draw attention to her Highway 65 debut. She will perform with Luke Wheeler and duet with Juliette before thousands of fans. Zoey, Avery and Gunnar rock out at a benefit for Deacon’s favorite charity, Sober House, and Avery plans to serenade Juliette with a song he wrote for her. But when he attempts to sing it, he doesn’t understand why she is not present. And Scarlett makes a decision about her future in Music City.

It’s a jaw dropping episode for sure and it’s going to make season 3 that much sweeter!  If you are a fan of the men in particular, they have promised a new season of even hotter guys (is that even possible?) to add to the already steamy storyline.

Callie Khouri, screen writer of Thelma and Louise, prides herself on writing about strong female characters.  Making Nashville to have the Rayna character be a strong female mattered most.

As we discussed characters and story lines we were asked if we’d like meet our surprise guest, and in walks Eric Close!  Yes, Eric Close who plays Teddy Conrad, Rayna Jaymes ex-husband and the current Mayor of Nashville.

That’s all I can share because you have to watch it yourself!

Tune in to Nashville WEDNESDAY, MAY 14th  10|9c.

From Nashville to Gatlinburg In The Toyota Tacoma #LetsGoPlaces @Toyota

April 28, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

My good friend Kas from SouthernBellasWays received a Toyota Tacoma for the week to review and we drove it up to Gatlinburg from Nashville and back. On the way there we had a chance to catch up and just enjoy the ride. The Toyota Tacoma was the first time I’ve been inside a truck in a long time. I forget how high up they are. For the ride I found the Tacoma to be quite comfortable. I was riding while Kas was driving and then all the sudden I just fell asleep. I had a good nap in my passenger seat. The Toyota Tacoma is the ultimate performer whether it’s hauling or towing. With an available 6500-lb. max towing capacity, Tacoma helps you complete feats of strength with a 4.0L V6 engine that’s more than meets the eye

We had no issues making it up the mountain side. In most cars you have to shift down to low speed. I did see Kas messing with the speed but I never noticed the Toyota Tacoma struggle at all. Tacoma meets the most demanding situations head on. With 4WDemand, you can go from 2WD drive to 4WD high and back while Tacoma’s in motion, automatically locking the front hubs at speeds up to 62 mph. A turn and push of a dial and 4WD drive is engaged. Tacoma is one truck that doesn’t need a break to get the job done. Whether it’s Tacoma’s 5-speed manual transmission, available 6-speed manual transmission, or available 4- or 5-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), the one thing you can know for sure is you’ll have the power you need on tap right when you need it.

We had a pretty basic model with no backup camera, special seat material, or heated seats. When I buy a vehicle I have to have the heated seats and love having a backup camera. I’m not sure I could go back to not having that. One of the other bonus features is the steering wheel controls. Steer more than just Tacoma with an available tilt/telescoping steering wheel with built-in controls. Keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road, it’s easy to adjust the audio channels and volume, climate, Bluetooth® 9 hands-free phone and voice-command controls.

We had a great time on the road trip together

On the way back we drove in a downpour of rain. It was raining so hard at time we couldn’t see a thing. So it was nice being up so hight off the ground and the traction was really good. I wasn’t scared at all, well I was a tad bit afraid that a tornado would just come down the highway and get us but that had nothing to do with the safety of the car. Winking smile

4 Cities You’ll Pay a Bundle to Visit

April 14, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This post is brought to you by Annie Davis.

It’s hardly breaking news that New York City is the most expensive place to visit in the United States. TripAdvisor even ranked it fourth in the world for the most expensive night out. While American tourists know what they’re getting into when they visit the Big Apple, there are other cities around the country that can also cost travelers a bundle. Here are a few.

Orlando, Fla.

Two words: Disney tickets. Single park admission for adults is slowly creeping toward $100, meaning a family of four pays almost $400 just to get into one park. That doesn’t include food, souvenirs, water, and other miscellaneous park purchases. Even if a family decides to skip the happiest place on earth in favor of Universal Studios or SeaWorld, tickets will still cost them hundreds of dollars. The flights and hotels might be decently priced, but once families arrive their wallets are in pain.

Nashville, Tenn.

Nashville is considered heaven on Earth for country music lovers, but the music rarely comes cheap. Attending concerts throughout your vacation can quickly add up. For some visitors, standing a few feet from their country music idol is worth every penny, but it’s just going to take a lot of pennies to get there.

In order to spend responsibly when traveling, consider buying VIP tickets to one show while looking for discounts and staying further back at others. All the concerts will be great, but you’ll have one that sticks in your memory forever.

New Orleans, La.

While this city might not be costly all year long, there’s a certain week in the spring where prices skyrocket. Visitors will pay considerably more for flights and hotels during Mardi Gras than during the rest of the year because of the increased demand.

Plus, the costs don’t stop once travelers reach their destination, because that’s when the drinking begins. After a few mixed drinks, it’s easy to forget how much you’ve spent – and that’s usually when you start buying entire rounds. Only the wise can travel to New Orleans without going over budget.

Monterey, Calif.

If you’re looking to skip the bustle of San Francisco or Los Angeles, you might consider finding an Alamo rental car near you and taking a road trip down coast. The Pacific Coast Highway is regularly named one of the top road trips in the United States, and with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, it’s not hard to see why.

However, the journey to Monterey is paved with expenses. California is one of the most expensive states to visit, no matter where you are, and taking a road trip with current gas prices will slowly siphon dollars out of your pocket. Make sure your rental car gets good gas mileage before you hit the road.

Just because a city is expensive doesn’t mean travelers should avoid it. It just means they need to be realistic about their budgets before they leave. An ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure, and that pound of cure translates into cold, hard cash.
