Behind the Movie: Marvel’s The Avengers Behind the Scenes Photos!

April 2, 2012 by Momstart 29 Comments

INSIDE THE AVENGERS – Behind the Scenes Photos!

By: Ashley

Everyone here knows how excited Louise is about the new Avengers movie coming to theatres on May 4th. Well, I’m pretty excited too! I may not be your typical comic book movie fan, but that’s just it! I know next to nothing about comic book characters, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. What I do know though, is exciting movies! I’m willing to put money on the fact that Avengers is going to live up to that!

When you’re excited about a movie, getting to peek behind the scenes is SO much fun! That’s why I wanted to make sure I shared these behind the scenes photos from The Avengers with you. They definitely make the countdown until the film comes out seem like it will take FOREVER! I guess we’ll just have to make do until then… Anyway, I love being able to see the movie craft in action. Stills of actors taking direction, asking questions, and hard at work is one of my favorite things. Yes, I love the magical movie moments when you get swept away and out of reality… but I love seeing what goes into those magical moments also. “Marvel's The Avengers”

Here are some behind the scenes pictures to help get YOU ready for The Avengers. After looking back through them, it’s also pretty obvious that Joss Whedon is a really hands on director! I did some more research and saw that he even was credited with writing the screenplay. That probably explains why he was in almost every behind the scenes picture! EEEK! Can’t wait to see this movie! How about you?

Sneak Peek Inside the Movie: What To Expect When You’re Expecting

January 27, 2012 by Momstart 12 Comments

A Visit to the Set of What to Expect When You’re Expecting

By: Ashley

I have been hanging onto this information for so long that I can hardly believe I finally get to share it! I went to Atlanta in September. Why Atlanta, you ask? (As if the title didn’t give it away…) I was in Atlanta so that I could go ON THE SET of the soon to be released, Lionsgate Film, What to Expect When You’re Expecting! It was such an amazing experience and I learned so much about how movies are made, how much work it takes, and got some super sneak peeks into the world of what I’m positive is a laugh out loud funny movie! If you haven’t seen the What to Expect trailer yet, then you should definitely do that.

It’s a movie all about the joy, challenges, fears… and just moments of HILARITY that come with the process of becoming a parent. The movie shows the different paths 5 couples take to parenthood… 5 very different paths for 5 very different couples. Here’s a glimpse at the moms of What to Expect to get you ready.

Skyler (Brooklyn Decker) – The young, gorgeous mom who makes pregnancy look like a beautiful breeze. Also the trophy wife for her much older husband (Dennis Quaid).

FIN01_6263_1Sht_Brooklyn_P03_VF

Jules (Cameron Diaz) – A super busy fitness freak who “works out” a surprise pregnancy.

FIN01_6263_1Sht_Cameron_P05_VF

Wendy (Elizabeth Banks) – An author and baby know it all who discovers every side effect known to carrying a child. FIN01_6263_1Sht_Elizabeth_P04_VF

Holly (Jennifer Lopez) – A mom who can’t wait to meet her baby that she’s adopting from across the world. FIN02_6263_1Sht_JLo_P05_VF

Rosie (Anna Kendrick) – A food truck chef who has one of “those nights” and ends up pregnant.

FIN01_6263_1Sht_Anna_P02_VF

When I was on set, a group of bloggers and I were lucky enough to see the action in progress. (By the way, they really do yell “ACTION” when they start filming a scene.) We watched them film a scene based on Wendy (played by Elizabeth Banks), a baby-crazed author who thought she knew everything there was to know about pregnancy. I was amazed by how many times they shot the same scene over and over! There were tons of extras in the scene and everyone had to stay “in character” while they perfected the scene. What was even more amazing was how each take was so different! Watching Elizabeth Banks make small changes to her posture, her tone, and a little ad-libbing on her lines as she rampages on the dark side of pregnancy was HILARIOUS! I have to say that I honestly laughed at almost every take of the same exact scene!

We were even lucky enough to catch a quick word with the producer of What to Expect When You’re Expecting. He said that when he saw the title of the internationally known book, he just knew it would make a great film. I have to say that I could not agree more! I can’t wait until May 11 when What to Expect When You’re Expecting FINALLY comes to the big screen!

Travel and expenses were covered by Lionsgate.

ALPHA & OMEGA in Theaters Friday September 17th Movie Giveaway

September 13, 2010 by Momstart 236 Comments

clip_image001We were invited to a pre-screening of the movie ALPHA & OMEGA this past weekend and were unable to attend because the kiddos were sick. I have been watching the previews and trailers on-line and in the theater for Alpha & Omega and it looks pretty cute. Alpha & Omega will be viewable in the very popular 3-D atmosphere if that’s something you are interested in but it will also be available on a normal screen too. We love movies with talking animals. The kids just enjoy it a great deal. I wish we would have been able to watch it, I guess we’ll just have to go when everyone is feeling better, or watch it when it comes out on DVD.

Trailer:

SYNOPSIS:

clip_image001[4]What makes for the ultimate road trip? Hitchhiking, truck stops, angry bears, prickly porcupines and a golfing goose with a duck caddy. Just ask Kate and Humphrey, two wolves who are trying to get home after being taken by park rangers and shipped halfway across the country. Humphrey is an Omega wolf, whose days are about quick wit, snappy one-liners and hanging with his motley crew of fun-loving wolves and video-gaming squirrels. Kate is an Alpha: duty, discipline and sleek Lara Croft eye-popping moves fuel her fire. Humphrey’s motto – make ’em laugh. Kate’s motto – I’m the boss. And they have a thousand miles to go.

alpha Back home rival wolf packs are on the march and conflict is brewing. Only Kate and Humphrey can restore the peace. But first, they have to survive each other.

Secrets of the Mountain DVD and Soundtrack Giveaway

April 8, 2010 by Momstart 262 Comments

SOTM_poster_24x36Walmart contacted me about a movie they had made with Proctor and Gamble and at first I thought it was a joke. I even watched a few seconds of it and had to wonder, is this really a movie? In the background, you see all this product placement of “Great Value” and that is Walmart’s store brand. So I thought with it being April 1st and all someone was trying to get me. As I got to watching it further I though, this looks like a great film. The character development caught me and I mean, it looks like a family night at the movies kind of film. I want to find out what is going to happen to all of the characters.

Walmart sent me a teaser and a little care package with popcorn in it. You can watch it yourself here:

Plot Summary
Somewhere between the demands of her career, her ex’s wedding and her kids’ busy schedules, Dana James is noticing her tight-knit family starting to unravel.  An unexpected offer to purchase her family’s mountain property sets up a weekend road trip, which she hopes will bring her family back together.  But when they arrive, they quickly learn that the mountain is much more than it seems.  An ancient secret and a treacherous quest will test the family like never before.  It’s an edge-of the-seat thriller that reminds us that when times are tough, families don’t run away from problems – they run back to each other. The Mountain

Excited about Despicable Me

April 8, 2010 by Momstart 1 Comment

Despicable Me is coming out this summer, it’s a cute children’s movie that takes place in a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences. Among this happy setting lies a house black as can be with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of tireless, little yellow minions, we discover Gru (Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon (Yes, the moon!) in Universal’s new 3-D CGI feature, Despicable Me.

Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. One of the world’s greatest super-villains has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

Universal Pictures is releasing to theaters on Christmas Day It’s Complicated starring Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, and Alec Baldwin. Jane is the mother of three grown kids, owns a thriving Santa Barbara bakery/restaurant and a divorce. Suddenly after 10 years of divorce and an amicable relationship with her ex-husband, attorney Jake (Baldwin) they find themselves out of town for their son’s college graduation, things start to get complicated.  An innocent meal together turns into the unimaginable—an affair.  With Jake remarried to the much younger Agness (Lake Bell), Jane is now, of all things, the other woman.
