My First #BlogHer Party – Thanks @MomCentral

Pampers is MomStart’s official Blogher Sponsor!

By: Ashley

After a day of traveling and getting settled into the NYC rush (which I should make a special point to say I LOVE), I hit the streets of New York to meet (not just Tweet) some of the ladies that make MomCentral so amazing. I had the chance to meet some great people, and learn about some cool things that 3M, Scotch, and Zulily have going on.

One of my favorite things about the night? I was actually able to meet @MomCentralChat. I do the #MomChat almost every Tuesday (from @Momicles2010). I do it because… well just because it is fun! It’s an hour long Twitter Chat that takes place on Tuesdays and it is just plain out fun. Eilieen (Ms. MomChat herself) knows how much I love those Tuesday time outs, but it was wonderful to actually meet her in real life! It’s so nice to take the online social world we work in and make real connections with it.

I was also able to feed my office supply addiction/obsession. Did you know Scotch makes a fancy, fun, colorful tape? It comes in SO many different bright, vibrant colors and gives me SO many ideas! There is a colored tape that is basically a color version of “Magic Tape” and decorative packaging tape. With back to school season here, I think this would make a GREAT gift for your favorite teacher… or for your child before they head back to school. The ways you could decorate a binder or folder with this stuff? The possibilities are endless! In fact, there is even a Pinterest contest to show just how cool your ideas for this tape are!

There were so many exciting things going on, I learned so much MORE about the blogging industry, and met some amazing people. Again, it was another one of those evenings that leaves me feeling so lucky to be doing what I’m doing. IMG_4415

Loving The Old Navy Best Tees

March 21, 2012 by Momstart 15 Comments

We’re long time fans of Old Navy and we’ve been wearing the Old Navy Tees for years. I remember when I came up Washington, after I married my husband. We were getting ready to celebrate the Fourth of July and he said we have to go to Old Navy to get some festive shirts. Oh ok. We go off to Old Navy to get our Fourth of July Tees and I’m pretty sure they were the part of the Old Navy Tees. We purchased those shirts every year for quite a few years in a row.

Old Navy T-shirts have just gone from great to even greater. I just received a new Old Navy Best Tee to review here and WOW it’s super soft. It’s so much softer than the fourth of July shirts we used to wear and I thought they were soft. Plus I love the new fit. It gently hugs my body instead of making me look like a bag. My daughter took my new shirt and put it on and I had to take a picture of her. She was super cute, of course it was way to big for her but she was still super cute in it. I think with a belt it would work as an adorable dress on her. IMG_8641

After trying the shirt for myself I watched the Old Navy commercial with Mr. T advertising the Old Navy super soft Best Tees. It cracked me up.

Old Navy’s New Improved Best Tee has been improved to be the softest, best fitting t-shirt. You can find them in store only for now but it’s worth the trip. Each shirt is brighter and bolder with new styles, cuts and colors. Old Navy has created long-sleeve, crew neck, V-neck and short sleeved to camisoles ribbed tanks and hoodies out of the Best-Tees product line.

Using Shout Free and Shout Color Catcher with Oxi

December 27, 2011 by Momstart 79 Comments

Having kids means I have to treat over half the clothing before I wash it. Seems like having a boy makes it more than I ever thought it would be. Of course his clothes are covered from head to toe and I feel like I’m treating the entire shirt and not just a few spots. I have to treat my own clothing because they forget to wash their hands some I’m often used as a Kleenex or wash cloth for their face and hands. Sigh, Laundry is such a chore.

imageI just started using Shout Free and the Shout color Catcher. I like Shout Free because it’s fragrance free, dye free, safe on colorfast washables and works in all temperatures. Plus the trigger and spray works better than the other brand I was using, and what I mean by that is that it’s easier to squeeze and sprays a larger area if I choose. Because like I said sometimes I feel like I’m spraying the whole shirt so I like the sprayer. I’m easy to please.

I hate when clothing fades and bleeds onto the rest of the clothing. The Shout® Color Catcher® sheets absorb and trap loose dyes in the washing machine protecting clothes against color bleeds and helping preserve original colors. I was skeptical about it working but actually felt like the colors were brighter after my first use. Maybe it’s all in my head but I did a load of pink and red and used the Shout color catcher and it came out just a tad pink. I actually expected it to be bright. pink but it was only a very pale pink. And I threw in a very light colored shirt and it wasn’t pink either. So far I’m very pleased with the Shout Color Catcher.

Currently Shout is offering downloadable Shout coupons on the Shout Facebook page for Shout Free and Color Catcher with Oxi.

This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to the winner, Andrea D.

All rules can be found under giveaway rules.
