Pillsbury is hosting a contest looking for your every day family moment, Pillsbury People Celebrate More Photo Contest, and for us that’s baking together. The contest runs from September 21 through November 30, 2011, they are asking us to submit a photo capturing an everyday family celebration, plus a brief description (200 words or less) describing the moment and how the experience made us feel. Ten finalist photos and captions will be chosen and posted on www.pillsburybaking.com for a nationwide online vote to help decide the winner beginning in January 2012. The winner will also be invited to the ultimate hometown celebration for the Pillsbury Doughboy’s birthday this spring. So we got in the kitchen and made these cuties! Or Spooky Spiders you might call them.
We made Mocha Fudge Spiders for Halloween.
Mocha Fudge Spiders Recipe:
Ingredients:
Mocha Fudge or Dark Chocolate Pillsbury Brownie Mixes
1 8 ounce package of cream cheese (room temperature)
3 cups powdered sugar
1 stick of butter (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup cocoa
Tiny colored chocolate Sprinkles
Gummy Leggs
Directions:
Bake the brownies according to the directions on the box
Then we made the icing/cake ball glue. I don’t know exactly what you call it but these spiders are basically cake balls, cake bites, cake pops whatever you want to call them.
Cream the butter
Add the cream cheese
Slowly mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and cocoa
Then you get the kids involved. You attach the legs and eyes.
The kids loved the entire experience as much as I did. It was fun to watch them create their own little spiders.
We received samples from Pillsbury.
