New Lunchables Combinations Giveaway

October 9, 2010 by Momstart 483 Comments

I’ve always been a big fan of Lunchables, I’ll eat the crackers with the meat and I usually leave the cheese behind because it is so high in calories. That is the one drawback of most of the packages of Lunchables that are out there. However, they have lots of new options compared to when I was a kid. They are now considered to be more wholesome. They contain DOLE® Mandarin Oranges, 100% white meat chicken and bread made with 8g of whole grains. I’m not saying they are the most healthiest things out there to eat and we won’t be getting them all the time but for a quick pinch they are great. The calories are quite representative of the food in them. You feel like you are getting more food than the smaller Lunchables contain for about the same amount of calories. We were sent three of the New Lunchables Combinations to test out and try.

Chicken + American Sub Sandwich

Turkey made with 100% turkey breast, Kraft 2% Cheddar and bread made with whole grain, these tasty subs come with Tree Top® Applesauce, Mini Nilla Wafers, spring water and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Singles.

Chicken Strips with DOLE® Oranges

Every shred of this 100% white meat chicken is good enough to share. Plus, it comes with a full serving of mandarin oranges in 100% fruit juices. This lunch is a good source of protein, iron and an excellent source of Vitamin C.

Deep Dish Cheese Pizza with DOLE® Oranges

deepDishCheesePizza

You won’t have to dig deep for our Deep Dish Pizza, made with Kraft 2% Mozzarella and 2% Cheddar, deep dish crust made with whole grain, Tombstone Pizza Sauce, Tree Top® Applesauce, Mini Nilla Wafers, spring water and Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Singles.

So far, I’ve eaten the chicken strips and I liked them. I had to heat them up and it was easy enough to do, I was telling my husband that I didn’t think that I would like to have them cold but he said kids would. He would. So pack it up for the kids for school or eat it at home with a microwave on hand like I do.

Nominate your school for Lunchables Field Trips For All

April 22, 2010 by Momstart 2 Comments

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Lunchables. All opinions are 100% mine.

Lunchables Project PotentialIt is the time of year when schools are going on Field Trips. I used to look forward to going on field trips every year. The best one I ever went on was when our school went to visit King Tut’s exhibit in Dallas. It was at the Science Museum so there was plenty to do in addition to the exhibit, but I have always had a huge fascination for Egypt and history. Where have you gone with your school?

I was reading that some students get left behind because their parents can’t afford to send them on the field trip the school goes on. For schools that don’t charge the parents, they are eliminating field trips all together.

According to a 2009 report from The American Association of School Administrators, it’s estimated that over the course of the current school year, the number of school districts eliminating field trips will increase by 56 percent. That’s more than 30,000 schools.
That’s why Lunchables has created Project Potential. Project potential’s goal is to send kids on these field trips because it is in these hands on learning experiences where kids grow. Hands on experiences empower kids to reach their potential. They don’t want anyone to feel left out and are letting parents nominate the school of their choice, Field Trips For All. Just look at how much fun your kids could be having with Lunchables.

My husband and I watched this video together and he was dying to know where they were at. So I had to replay it so he could see that they were at the Columbia Memorial Space Center. The Columbia Memorial Space Center looks like a ton of fun and a great learning experience. As a parent of children that will be in school in a few years, I know that I want them to be able to go on field trips. There are so many interesting places in the state of Washington that I know they could learn from. If you want to find out more or nominate a school just visit Field Trips For All. 50 schools will be chosen to go on an exciting learning experience.
