Another Sneak Peek at LeapTV #LeapTV

August 28, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This is a partnered post with MomSelect, all opinions are my own.

I love all the LeapFrog products. We have been using LeapFrog DVD’s since the kids were babies. Then we moved to the LeapFrog devices and there are so many that we have and my kids still love using them. We’ll be working with them and trying out their new children’s activity bracelets next month. I’m super excited, but for now I want to share with you LeapTV.

leaptv

Kids need to get some activity in their lives, even when all they want to do is watch TV. And as parents we hate to use the TV as a baby sitter to get a few things done but sometimes, it has to be done. LeapTV has an answer to get minds and bodies moving it’s called LeapTV!

LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus & Rockin’ Guitar: Educational Toys for Toddlers and Preschoolers

LeapFrog Touch Magic – Hot Educational Toys for Toddlers and Preschoolers

By: Ashley

clip_image002Before the weather got chilly, I was able to host a play date with LeapFrog Touch Magic Toys. We had several kids over to play and everyone enjoyed playing with the Touch Magic gear. After watching our friends have a great time with them, and having seen how much fun Atticus has playing with them, I can truly recommend them as great Christmas gifts for toddlers and preschoolers.

LeapFrog Touch Magic Learning Bus

I love toys that encourage learning. When children can learn some of the fundamental reading skills like letters and sounds while playing, it is a wonderful thing. The Touch Magic Learning Bus does just that. There are actually three different modes that children can play in: learning, letter exploration, and music. All three modes allow kids to explore and learn independently. I especially love how the Learning Bus incorporates both letters and musical instruments. That really helps keep kids engaged and having fun. This is recommended for children ages 2-4.

LeapFrog Touch Magic Rocking Guitar

The touch features on the Rocking Guitar are very cool. The actual music comes from “strumming” the strings of the guitar. This gives young children the experience of playing an actual guitar! I also love how there is an applause button that gives little rockers a nice boost of confidence as they play a concert. One of my favorite things about the Touch Magic Rocking Guitar is the variety of songs. This toy actually has 10 different preschool songs. This really helps the toy stay new and fresh to both the musician, and the audience! This is recommended for children 3 and up.

During our play date, all of the kids had a great time playing with the TouchMagic toys. I have to admit that when all of the kids were playing in the room together, it was a little hard to hear the songs and talking on both toys. With just a few kids, and definitely one playing independently, the sound is perfect. These Touch Magic Toys are a great addition to any Christmas list and you can find them pretty much anywhere toys are sold.

LeapFrog LeapPad Tag Reader “Learn, Create & Share” Holiday Gift Ideas

October 28, 2011 by Momstart 10 Comments

When I was at the Time To Play Holiday Showcase, I had the opportunity to see quite a few toys from LeapFrog and their award winning LeapFrog tablet for kids, the LeapPad Learning Tablet. Plus they were showing off new toys for the LeapFrog Tag system. Check out this LeapFrog Solar System for tag.

image

With the Tag Solar System Adventure pack your little ones can take off on an out-of-this-world adventure with the interactive, two-sided Tag™ solar system map! It’s amazing how much kids love space and this will have them playing more than 40 activities and family-friendly games with this 2-in-1 map that unfolds to over 3 feet! Learn solar system terms and planetary facts, and log your journey with bonus interactive stickers! Appropriate for children ages 4 to 8 years.

LeapFrog sent us everything we need to throw a LeapFrog “Learn, Create & Share” learning party to share part of the Holiday LeapFrog Toy line up with our friends.  Parties are such a great way to let moms explore products and make decisions on buying them. I’m a big fan of try before you buy and electronics are so hard now because you can’t return opened packages.

IMG_5482

Honestly, I’ve been wondering if the LeapFrog Tag reading system would be good for Zoe and Miles. Will it help them recognize words, and yes I have found it will. The Tag™ Reading System is the #1 selling reading system and recommended by 99% of teachers to help kids learn to love reading. Tag brings the stories to life letting the kids read, play games, or just explore the world of reading. Pictured above is the LeapFrog Interactive World Map.

 IMG_5485

They can not only click the words individually but also have the sentences read to them and touch the objects in the books for even more exploration. With a library of 40+ books, maps and more, children can also take the fun beyond reading with fun play patterns that broaden curriculum experiences such as exploring other cultures, building skills in life science or even learning how to write!

IMG_5484

Now the LeapPad Learning Tablet was really cool. My FAVORITE feature is that the stylus pen is attached. The kids won’t lose it. LOVE THAT.  The LeapPad™ learning tablet  is the personalized learning tablet just for kids with a built-in camera and video recorder. The kids have had a little bit of difficulty with the video camera and camera but we are at the low end of the age range. From 4 – 8 and Zoe is only 4. All of the kids that have looked at it have been in the lower age range. We all have kids the same age right now. LeapPad offers limitless learning and endless play through a library of 100+ cartridge games and activities with innovative creativity and reading apps. image

The games were very easy to download onto it. Plus Zoe got a kick out of helping dad pick out the apps to load onto it. It’s a touch screen, so the kids feel like they’re playing with mom and dad’s iPad. But it’s geared towards them, plus it a learning tool. You set it at your kids age/school range and as the kids progress the machine keeps up with their level. It changes as they learn and becomes more challenging. The broad curriculum includes school basics like reading, mathematics and science, plus geography, art, music, language and culture, health and more. LeapPad also hosts a robust suite of creativity apps to nurture kids’ innate curiosity! LeapPad just launched in August and is Is already listed in many HOT TOY lists like Time To Play’s top toy list.

We received samples.

LeapFrog DVD’s The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park and LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy Giveaway

January 20, 2011 by Momstart 333 Comments

LF_AAAP_ocard1.inddI probably let my kids watch way too much TV. I grew up watching TV and so do they. But, we only watch DVD’s which allows me to have a huge amount of control over what they watch. One of my favorites out of all the DVD’s we have are from LeapFrog, so I get quite excited when they launch new DVD’s, games or video games. Earlier last week, two new DVD’s arrived on my doorstep courtesy of Lionsgate: LeapFrog: The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park and LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy. LeapFrog: The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park and LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy were released on January 18, 2011, for the suggested retail price of $14.98 each.  Both titles are also be available on Digital Download.

My kids really do learn from these DVD’s that LeapFrog puts out.

In The Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park the kids were singing little a, big a, little b big b. The other day, I put this on for Miles while Zoe was in preschool and he started singing and he looked at me and said, “Come on, sing with me”.

“Mom, sing!”

So, of course I had to sing with him!

LeapFrog Numbers Ahoy_BoxArtThe Amazing Alphabet Amusement Park (Ages 3-6): When their firefly friend, Edison, takes Tad, Lily and Scout to the place of his childhood dreams, the gang is shocked to discover that Alistair Alphabelly’s Amazing Amusement Park is… closed! To make matters worse, Edison has gotten himself stuck atop the Fantastical Ferris Wheel. The only way to save him is to turn on the rides in the park with the magic of the alphabet. Now the children must learn all of the letters, big and small, to save their friend, save the day and perhaps even meet the rhyme master himself, Alistair Alphabelly!

I actually didn’t watch this one, and Zoe kept saying: there is a bad guy on this one, but he’s not too scary, and I kept telling her she was wrong, then finally I realized he was a bad guy because he captured Scout, but he wasn’t too scary, just like Zoe said!

LeapFrog: Numbers Ahoy SYNOPSIS
Numbers Ahoy (Ages 3-6): Tad and Lily need a little number sense to help them get through a complicated game. So their magical firefly friend, Edison, takes them on a fantastical journey under the sea! When a pirate mistakenly captures their cute puppy pal Scout, they must use their new understanding of counting, grouping and estimating to rescue him. Join them as they navigate the deep and face foes such as sharks, crab henchmen—even Pirate Pythagoras himself—and begin to see numbers in a whole new way!
