I’m Hosting #KodakMoms In Bellevue May 13th With Bartell Drugs

May 8, 2013 by Momstart 3 Comments

I’m a little bit giddy at the fact that Kodak has asked me to host an event in Bellevue. I’ve been asked to invite 25 people that I know to come out and learn all about using the Kodak Kiosks inside of Bartell Drugs. I’m excited to be apart of this event because we’ve recently become very fond of the Kodak Kiosk because it made it very easy for us to help Zoe with one of her homework assignments. We were able to print off 9 photos on one sheet in the small size that we needed. EASY!

imagePlus, Kodak called me a top Seattle blogger! (I’m blushing)

Join Top Seattle Mommy Blogger, Louise Bishop of MomStart, for a special event with Kodak and Bartell Drugs. Discover new ways to create great gift ideas that can be made with the KODAK Picture Kiosks, “KODAK Kiosk Connect” app, and more!

At the event we’re going to show moms and my blogging friends all about Kodak and how Bartell Drugs is a great partner for them. This is the first event I’ve hosted outside of my house. I have hosted events before at my house, so I’m used to being very busy during an event. I think this will be the first time I’m actually able to enjoy myself and really connect with everyone. Hostess duties keep me very busy! If you live in the area and haven’t received an invitation yet, just send me an e-mail and I’ll add you to the list. louise@looksblue.com

At this event, you can learn first hand from Top Seattle Mommy Blogger, me, Louise Bishop of MomStart, how to maximize their “KODAK Kiosk Connect” app and print their favorite photos from a handheld device or Facebook. These photos can be used to make wonderful gifts for the people in their lives such as premium prints, collages, customized cards and photobooks, etc. Participants will receive first hand demonstrations from Kodak representatives, as well as a lovely gift package to get them started on their way to creating thoughtful and imaginative gifts.

To find out more about me, Louise Bishop’s favorite things, visit MomStart. To learn more about the “KODAK Kiosk Connect” app, log onto the Kodak website, or visit your closest Bartell Drugs.

Hope to see you there!

Photos For Father’s Day Kodak Kiosks

June 8, 2011 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Oh my goodness, things are super crazy in my house. I have three trips coming up and I get back from all my travels on Father’s Day. When am I going to shop and what am I going to get him? Are you in the same boat and in need of some ideas for Father’s Day? How about a photo creation? 600KODAK Video Snapshots Module for KODAK Picture Kiosk

600FacebookPicasaNow, don’t get all, he’s a man he needs a power tool on me ok. I know that sometimes the best gift is when you’ve captured a special moment of one of the kids and put it in a frame. In fact, I think that’s the best gift I gave my husband so far. One year we I took the kids and we had photos of them done. I didn’t tell my husband a thing, I printed out a photo and put it in the frame. He still has that gift in his office at work. How often does a gift last over a year?

So put a photo in a frame, or make a photo book. From June 6 until June 19, Kodak Kiosks at participating retailers (Target and CVS) are offering a BOGO promotion on 8×10 photo books. Which makes it easier to get one for the “grand” dads and neither one gets left out.

If you’re anything like me, more than likely you’ll have the plan to make a photo book and then get to Target without your photos. Oh, I’m always forgetting something. Well, Kodak has make life simple, simply log onto your Facebook account directly from the Kodak Kiosk and use any of the images from your account. The Kodak Kiosk also lets you create other great gifts for any occasion, such as a PYNK frame or a Personal Greeting Card. A one-stop personalized gift shop!

Be sure to visit Kodak.com to and use the Kodak Kiosk locator to find a participating retailer near you!

This is part of a sponsored campaign with Mom Bloggers Club on behalf of Kodak.

Are you ready for another Monday Mingle? I sure am, I missed last week. I was behind on reviews, umm, yeah, I’m always behind. So I decided to combine this week’s Monday Mingle with a product review. It is quite fitting. The Kodak PlaySport HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera is a video camera and since this week was freestyle I thought I would have a little bit of fun with it. I’m in the shower!! Oh wait, do you even know what Monday Mingle is? Just in case this is your first time to see it….

Hop into Theaters today. Hop Movie Review. And A Kodak Hop Giveaway

April 1, 2011 by Momstart 2 Comments

hop movie posterBunnies are in! My son received two bunnies and was able to see an early screening of Hop on his birthday. Hop brings state of the art animation to live action, and the combination of the two works quite well. Hop is a comedy definitely geared to children and all that love the Easter Bunny and candy. E.B. (Russell Brand) is the teenage son of none other than the Easter Bunny. He is to carry out the long tradition of carrying the title and responsibilities of generations of bunnies before him. However, all E.B. wants to do is play the drums and be famous and live a life of luxury without any work. Does that sound familiar?

Fred (James Marsden) is the human equivalent. Fred has no idea what responsibility is and is kicked out of his own house (more like his parent’s house) when we runs into, and I mean literally runs into E.B. Fred hit E.B. with a car, and E.B. plays it up like he’s really injured, even though he’s not. E.B. manipulates Fred and Fred falls for it allowing the bunny to provide a window into his own life.

HopWhile Fred is trying to get his life in order, he realizes what it means to actually do something for someone else. At first, he tries to help E.B. just to get rid of E.B. But then he ends up saving all of Easter Island saving Easter as we know it. Somewhere in the middle of the movie is a cameo by David Hasselhoff and I just can’t figure out what the big deal is about this man. It’s the second movie I’ve seen this year with him in it. (just a side note from me)???

Hop really made my kids excited about Easter Coming. They are ready to decorate eggs and get some Easter Candy. We found the movie to be very colorful and laugh out loud funny. Miles and Zoe were smiling and we all laughed a lot. The movie is not to be taken seriously at all. The ending is WAY over the top, there is no way a situation like this would end like that, but like I said, it’s not to be taken seriously, I mean it’s a movie about the Easter Bunny (not what Easter really is about). So go have fun, laugh and don’t’ take the movie seriously just have fun!

I have a Hop Into Theaters April 1st To Meet E.B. #Giveaway going on http://bit.ly/dW18sD and of course, Kodak has a stellar Hop giveaway too!

Hop And Kodak:

This Easter, Kodak is celebrating all things Easter in a partnership with Universal Studios’ blockbuster “Hop”  Bring E.B. and the other characters from Hip into your Easter memories using the KODAK Picture Kiosk and also enter to win the Kodak – Hop Photo Contest on Facebook for the ULTIMATE gift basket worth over $500.00.

To Enter You will be asked to share your picture with family and friends to acquire the most votes. The person with the most votes will win two free movie passes each month for a year as well as a KODAK – Hop Ultimate Gift Basket, which includes KODAK products (including a KODAK EASYSHARE MINI camera), Hop merchandise, Hop movie tickets and fun Easter candy that is provided by The Hershey Company. Twenty other lucky winners with the most votes will also win a Kodak – Hop Ultimate Easter Basket. Kodak’s Hop contest will run from April 4 – 20, 2011.

Disclosure: I was able to attend a free movie screening in order to write this review.

I’m not sure what made me think this would be an easy task, but picking out my favorite photos of the kids was an impossible task. I picked out quite a few here but debated about posting others. The kids take great photos and it has been a wonderful year. WOW, what a great year. I’m glad that I can pick more than 12 photos when making a photo book at Kodak’s Gallery. Kodak Gallery is the very first site I used to make a photo book to give to family. It was the best and most loved Christmas Gift I have ever given to anyone and I think still rate up there even though it was three years ago.

With the new SMARTFIT Technology, you’ll be provided the affordable luxury of quality design and page layout backed by KODAK’s exceptional standards and commitment to preservation and storage of your memories. The new SMARTFIT technology is really simple to use, in fact I’m in the middle of creating my own book right now. You can log into your account at Kodak Gallery that already has photos uploaded, or just upload some photos. After I uploaded my books I saved it, and instead of filling out all the information to create an account, (yes I have an old account, I just wanted to try this out) I signed in with facebook. I love how easy it is to sign into everything over facebook! And it even linked my old Kodak account with my new one! WOW that is SMART!

Adding border and text it also quite easy to do. Your book created with Kodak Smartift technology will be ready in minutes. The biggest challenge you will face will be deciding which Kodak moments will make the cut.

The Kodak Playtouch HD Video Camera Review and Giveaway

December 5, 2010 by Momstart 897 Comments

Kodak makes quite a few fun little products with their Easy Share technology. Of the newest being the Kodak Playtouch HD Video Camera. Kodak sent me the Playtouch to test out. So the first weekend we received it we took it on a trip with us. I went to Great Wolf Lodge with the family and took some video of all of us playing in the water. Now none of us want to be seen in our swimsuits so the video example I have for you is actually just some video of the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park grounds in Grand Mound. Check it out!

The pocket-size KODAK PLAYTOUCH Video Camera features a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen so consumers can easily glide through their HD videos with the swipe of a fingertip. Complementing its unique design, the KODAK PLAYTOUCH Video Camera boasts an array of features to help consumers capture their memories with clarity and precision, including built-in image stabilization, LCD glare shield, and an external microphone jack. To make sharing videos simpler, the PLAYTOUCH Video Camera has a built-in USB arm and Kodak’s Share Button lets consumers tag videos and pictures directly on the camera for automatic upload to popular social networking sites once they connect the camera to the computer.

KODAK PLAYTOUCH Video Camera Features:

* Share Button for easy video upload to YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK sites, and email
* 3-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD optimized for reviewing in landscape mode for the ultimate 1080p HD video sharing experience
* On-camera editing features to trim and extract still pictures from video
* 5 MP HD still pictures
* Sharper videos and less blur with built-in digital image stabilization
* Built-in USB arm for easy sharing, charging, and transferring
* Smart face tracking technology
* LCD glare shield feature
* External stereo microphone jack to add high-quality sound to videos or to plug in headphones for discreet playback*
* 4 capture effects, including B&W, sepia, high saturation, and ’70s film look
* HDMI output (HDMI cable included)
* Up to 10 hours of HD video** with expandable SD/SDHC card slot (up to 32 GB)
* Li-Ion rechargeable battery with in-camera charging
* PC and MAC iLIFE product compatibility

Kodak Playtouch HD Video Camera

So sharing just got easier! I love how you can just plug it into your computer over USB. The video quality is a little grainy in my opinion but I’m sure if you can hold it super still, have excellent lighting, the photos and video will turn out better. Oh yeah, here are a few of the photos from my trip:

Remember Kodak is all about making your life simpler in catching those “Kodak” moments. And with all of us in the Dawn of Social Media and sharing our lives with the world Kodak has made it so easy to SHARE your media.

One-button upload—turn moments into memories

With the Share button and Kodak’s Share button app, sharing your pictures is amazingly simple.

  • Record your video or snap your picture
  • Press the Share button and tag it to KODAK Gallery, YouTube, FACEBOOK, FLICKR, and ORKUT sites, plus e-mail too
  • Connect your PLAYTOUCH to your computer, and with Kodak’s Share button app, your videos and pictures are automatically uploaded
  • Your pictures and videos are also automatically transferred to your computer
