Blogger Interview with James Bobin: Muppets Most Wanted #MuppetsMostWantedEvent

March 24, 2014 by Momstart 1 Comment

James Bobin is so passionate about The Muppets and he has such creative ideas and the two of those together really made a great Muppet Movie. I’ve sat down with him a few times and on this most recent time I was left still feeling that his heart is really in making great movies with The Muppets. One thing I would suggest about The Muppets is to get the sound track, James Bobin gave his vision of each song to the songwriter Bret McKenzie and the songs are hilarious. He’s really great at giving ideas and inspiring greatness. Here is our blogger interview with James Bobin.

image

JAMES BOBIN: Who wants to start? Any questions? Everyone seen the movie?

QUESTION: It’s nice to meet you, James, thanks for meeting with us today. So who is the most difficult Muppet to work with?

JAMES BOBIN: And you. Pleasure. [LAUGHS] I’ll let you guess who the most difficult Muppet is who I work with. None of them, they’re all a total joy to work with. I’m a huge fan, I grew up watching the Muppets as a kid, so working with them for me is like working with my heroes.

QUESTION: So what is the difference between shooting the first movie and then the second movie?

JAMES BOBIN: Oh, for me obviously it was the first movie I’d never worked puppets before, so it was a very big experiential learning curve of how to frame shots, how to make this world feel realistic, that these puppets were alive, breathing people who are interacting with humans and the world’s just, the world we live in, the recognizable world we live in happened to have puppets in it. That idea I love, and that’s a very important part of it.

The training of the first movie was just getting to that level for me was an achievement. I could make a movie that like worked on that level. So, for this one I just wanted to push that a bit further because the last movie is kinda set in the theater for a lot of the final act. So, I thought this time, well, we should just get out and about a bit more and just do some slightly more adventurous, bigger stuff.Obviously, the fact that the movie’s kind of a caper movie with some criminal stuff in it, feels like you can do bigger action sequences.

You never want to put the words “puppet” and “action sequences” in the same sentence [LAUGHS] as a director, ’cause that is very hard, but I like the idea of trying difficult stuff. It’s ambition about the movie I really like. It feels like a very different film to me and the way I love both movies equally, but this film I feel like has slightly more ambition which I love about it and I think that’s when you’re doing a sequel there’s all sorts of things you have to deal with. One of them is you want to try and make a different movie. You don’t want to make the same movie twice, and that’s very important.

muppetsmostwanted531f69f3c9b96

QUESTION: When writing The Muppets did you take any inspiration from your funny show Flight Of The Conchords? And then do you think that adult humor and children’s’ humor are closer than we think?

JAMES BOBIN: [LAUGHS] Good questions. I’ll do them in the reverse order. Adult humor and child humor, yeah they are kind of different, but they can be the same. I mean, we’re all big kids, really, I am, I know for sure. So often I find things like, things falling over, I will find that funny forever. Like Tom and Jerry makes me laugh as much as my kids might laugh. It’s always gonna be the way, but sometimes it’s useful to have a thing that works on two levels, that they like it for some, a reason, and we like it for a different reason.

Often that’s because we’re putting clever words into the mouths of puppets and so they see a blue thing with a funny nose and white hair, which is funny, but we hear them say smart words. I love it, that idea works for both adults and children. Oh from Conchord’s, yeah, yeah of course, yeah I think whenever you make anything you can’t help but put an imprint of yourself in it to a degree. So when you do like a show like Conchords and move into Muppets you can’t help but bring a bit of that, your personality, with you.james bobin

Especially when you have half of the Conchords working on the movie with you, of course, because Brett writes the songs and so Brett and I worked together for a good, you know, years now. So be it set out on the streets of New York and Conchords or set on the streets of London and Muppets, there’s some of it’s Brett in many ways. And then, you know, in many ways the Conchords Muppets aren’t that different, they’re both quite innocent.

QUESTION: Hi. This film had, obviously, a very international flavor. Is there any thought ever to stopping in Sweden for the Swedish Chef?

JAMES BOBIN: [LAUGHS] No because then you’d tell he’s not Swedish. [LAUGHS] What he speaks is not Swedish it’s some weird amalgam of Jim’s kind of rubbishy Swedish, like made-up Swedish so obviously they had him talking real Swedish, and then someone actually speaking real Swedish, they’d go, “Hang on a minute that’s not the same thing,” so no we’re very particular to avoid Sweden. The locations were largely chosen because I’m a fan of those kind of old-style caper movies and they’re always in a place like Monte Carlo and Berlin and Madrid, it’s a very international feel. And so those places had felt to me like of interest and, you know, I like the idea of Muppets going global. That to me is interesting, that it’s not just about U.S. and the U.K. But they have a global interest. And that’s really, a fun thing to me.

QUESTION: How much filming do you actually do?

JAMES BOBIN: A lot, I mean, it’s, the principal photography, which is a good money 95 percent of the film was in London. We shot on the stages at Pinewood, which is just about a half an hour outside London, and then even places like Berlin and Madrid are also shot in or around London. Because going to Berlin with the entire Muppet cast and crew would’ve been a very expensive endeavor in doing it. And London is, as you know, a very ancient historical city, and therefore has lots of different architectural styles in it.

So you can kind of get a rough idea, “this looks a bit like Madrid,” ” this looks a bit like Berlin,” and certainly enough with some, you know, added set dressing and stuff, you could really feel like you’re there. And so most of the movie was shot in London, and in or around London. Which is kinda nice because the Muppet show back in the ’70s was made in London and not many people know that, you know. I mean, it feels like a thing that just, well it felt very much like a homecoming for Muppets.

image

They actually ended up hiring, uh, a lady called [SOUNDS LIKE :] Louise Gold, who is the only female puppeteer and who back in the ’70s worked on The Muppet Show is still puppeteering but, and being back in London now I could hire her again to do the characters that she did in the show in the ’70s. So she–– she reappears in this movie as Annie Sue Pig, which the Muppet fans amongst you will know as Miss Piggy’s great rival from Series 4 and 5 Muppet Show, has this kind of blonde afro. And she’s back in the movie, ’cause Louise Gold was available. That’s a really fun thing.

QUESTION:Do you approach celebrities to do cameos, or do they come to you and say, “I want to appear in the movie?”

JAMES BOBIN:
Generally we write them in for the right specific idea in mind, then we have a person, or a type of person in mind, quite often it’s the actual person who we write in. Like, you know, the Usher is gonna be played by Usher, that’s a good, that’s that joke, you know? Sometimes there are roles which are just like “a guy who’s delivering something,” or “a waiter” or something where by it could really be anybody. Then we start finding out just subtly who are Muppet fans. People who we know, and we hear about who like the Muppets.

And then, for example, of course Christoph Waltz I knew, we heard liked the Muppets, and I thought, “Well if here’s a Muppet show today, obviously what you do with him, his name is Waltz, you are going to do a Waltz with him somewhere, [LAUGHS] and somehow that came about that way. So it’s kind of, it’s mostly us writing people in, but sometimes we hear about people that want to be in the show too, and so…

QUESTION: What was the inspiration for Josh Groban in the Box?

JAMES BOBIN: [LAUGHS] Josh grabbing the box is because I love the idea that he had a, he has a very identifiable voice, and so I thought it’d be funny if he thought, “that voice is very familiar, who is that? It can’t be Josh Groban, there’s no way it’s gonna be Josh Groban,” then again, you see him again and again and again. At the end, it is Josh Groban, and I thought it’d be a funny, That’s a funny reveal at the end that he comes out of the box, and, you know, Josh Groban’s a very innocent guy, he’s the last guy you’d expect to play at a top place, so it was a funny idea. But he did it, he is great, and he–– he really sings very well.

The final number’s called “Together Again, Again,” and he, of all the people who had to sing the song, all the cameos sang that song, he really was just the, as you would expect, just the most incredible rendition of it, it was really fantastic. That was a very cold day, uh, just as this used air base in London, so for us to hear that. [

QUESTION: On the last film you were just the director, on this film you’re the writer and director. How does that transition feel to this…?

JAMES BOBIN: Yes, yes two hats. It’s fine, what you find about it, though, is often your writing brain is writing checks your writing brain can’t cash. In this sense then often as a writer you have like the sky’s the limit, you can do anything. And you really want to try and, you know, be as ambitious as you possibly can. And then your directing head’s going, "Wait a minute, this is gonna be really difficult, and take a longer time and be very expensive."

So you have to be, you know, on both, generally the writing head always wins because you want to try to make the movie the best as you possibly can. At the same time for me it feels slightly more of a personal one because obviously you can’t help but be, you know, when you write it’s really you. So for me this felt slightly more, I guess well it’s more of a comedy so it felt more personal to me ’cause I want a comedy. To be fair, on the last one as a director you also often help out with just a bits of writing here and there.

So I did a bit of writing on the last one. It wasn’t a completely new experience. Also, I have been writing for a long time so it’s not my first go, wasn’t the first movie, this is something I’ve been working on for a while and I knew Nick really well, and he’s our good friend outside of work. He’s just my friend. That’s one of the most important things about writing partnerships is having just a friendship. Because, you know, it’s like your friends, you just get on and you laugh together and we just write stuff down, and that’s the movie.

That really helped a lot. It does make it slightly more personal this time, but it was kind of, it always feels like when you’re directing something you’re kind of very raw anyway so it feels personal.

QUESTION: Do you have a favorite scene?

JAMES BOBIN: Favorite scene? Wow, that’s a good question. I really like Piggy’s song about Constantine and Kermit, that thing "Something’s So Right" song, with Celine. I really felt that that’s gonna, ’cause it’s like, Piggy’s wanted this thing all of her life, and she’s finally got it and it’s not gonna feel the way she thought it would feel, and I think that’s a very common thing to all of us. That’s something we’ve all experienced. And so to sing about that and say, "Why aren’t I feeling the way I would," and "why aren’t I happy that I am about getting married" is really sweet I think.

Also at the same time it’s kind of funny ’cause it’s got [LAUGHS] Celine Dion in it, and it’s like, it’s weird projection of the future and whatever, weird kids sitting there, the pink frog and the green pig, and that sort of stuff. It’s just really fun. So all my favorite scenes tend to have an element of humor to them and emotion, they’re both kinda working at the same time, and that’s pretty much my aim for the whole movie. You should feel emotionally engaged but laugh, be laughing at the same time. That’s a very difficult part of the trip. But that sequence I feel works very successfully like that. [LAUGHS] Yes.

Director James Bobin

QUESTION: Have you started on the next Muppet movie?

JAMES BOBIN: [LAUGHS] No, too tired, sorry, no no no, no no no, I’m exhausted. Ask me again in another year’s time, but no no on, they’re sadly not, but, I mean, maybe, who knows. I love working with these guys, and as you know they’re my heroes, so I really loved it. So I don’t know when in what capacity it would be, I don’t know, but I would love to do more ’cause this is really fun. I mean, I’m incredibly lucky to have this job, it’s like my dream so, you know, I’m so pleased. Really.

Interview with Kermit The Frog: Muppets Most Wanted It’s Easy Being Green #MuppetsMostWanted

January 13, 2014 by Momstart 5 Comments

Ahhh, another one on one with Kermit The Frog. I mean, at least I got a picture with him, but I did share the interview time with a few other bloggers. Kermit is so upbeat about his career right now, I mean the Muppets are back and they are on fire with moves like Mick Jagger. He’s doing so well he’s changed his philosophy on being green.

Q : Has it gotten easier being green?

KERMIT : It has. You know, it’s funny, uh, when I first sung that song all those years ago it was really about being comfortable in one’s own skin, you know. And then it sort of became the battle of choir of the environment movement which is fine. I’m very close to the environment so I have no problem with that but, you know, I went to a be green support group and, uh, I found that it helped enormously.

Q : How many members?

KERMIT : Oh, there were only two of us, me and Yoda and it works very well. There’s motto is, uh, just because you’re green doesn’t mean you’ve gone bad, you know.

MUPPET MOST WANTED

Now as you should know by now the Movie has a Kermit lookalike in it and he’s a bad guy. Kermit started the interview telling us a bit about him.

KERMIT : His name is Constantine and he’s actually played by a friend of mine from the swamp. We are the same species of frog and he looks an awful lot like me only he has a mark right here like a mold and he speaks with a strange, uh, sort of Eastern European accent, yes. Now I will tell you in real life he’s not that evil but in the movie he’s very evil, you know.

image

Q : How’s your relationship with Piggy?

KERMIT : Oh, it’s good, it’s good. We just did a movie together which h is great, you know. Always coming — kind of an up, you know, when we do a film together. Uh, I think she’s around tonight somewhere.

image

Q : Is there a rumor of a wedding gown?

KERMIT : Yes [COUGHS], excuse me I got choked up there. Yes, yes that’s true, but, it may — I’ll just say, I’m not gonna tell you the story of the movie but it may not be what you think.

KERMIT : Yes, yes, there is mystery.

Q : What was it like shooting in London?

KERMIT : Well it was great except that it was incredibly cold. Uh, we did the Muppet Show over there like 35 years ago and, uh, and most of the time I wore clothes. I had to do a many scenes over there all natural and it was very cold. Yeah, but I love London and we have a great bunch of fans over there too and I like it very much.

Q : Have you taken Walter on as a protégé?

KERMIT : Well, you know, Walter is a great guy. He’s a wonderful Muppet fan, you know, so I guess you could say that. He’s got a place with the Muppets now. You know, he has to do more than whistle, you know. I mean he can’t just whistle so we’re finding — he’s finding his Muppet feet, sort of speak, you know, which is hard ‘cause many of the Muppets you really don’t see their feet. So I brought mine along today since you were all here today, but, you know.

image

Q : Which Muppet has changed the most?

KERMIT : Well, you know, I’ve gone through quite a few changes. There was a time in like the early 60s where I had these little club feet that didn’t have my flippers yet, right after my tail fell off, right after my tadpole hood. And then there was a time that, you know, it was like a 70s fashion statement. I had two collars. If you look at some of my pictures I had like a double collar that I wore and, uh, so I’ve changed. Uh, let’s see the most changed? Piggy hasn’t changed at all if you know what I mean. Yeah, I’m gonna say me. I’m gonna say me.

Q : Physically?

KERMIT : Physically and, uh, you know, I mean I’m not a young frog anymore. Uh, you get wiser as you get older. Different things become important like working with the same people all the time which I love, with the Muppets, you know. I cherish that.

Q : Will there be a crossover with Muppets and Star Wars?

KERMIT : That’s very weird isn’t, you know. I, I think speaking of Yoda I tried out for that part years ago and right color, wrong ears. I don’t know. That’d be great, wouldn’t it?

MUPPET MOST WANTED

Q : How many musical numbers does Kermit perform?

KERMIT : I do, uh, you know, I have to tell you the truth. I’m in the opening number in the film. You know, this film — everyone tell you one thing. This film sort of talks up right where our last film left off. The end of that film is kind of the beginning of this film and so the opening number of the next film is a great number that I actually am a part of with all the other guys. Uh, I don’t really have a solo number in this film. Piggy has like six. Some of those might get cut but we have to do that just to get her to come on the set. But the music’s great. Again written by Brett McKenzie and some of these numbers are amazing but my favorite is one called The Big House and during the course of the film I actually get, uh, well I’ll tell you this part, too. I end up in a Russian gulag.

…..Yes. It’s a very dramatic part for me to play, you know, uh, being a prisoner in prison. Of course the warden there, the chief warden is, is Nadia played by Tina Fey and, uh, yeah, I had big fun with her. She sings a great song called The Big House about welcoming me to prison and as Tina said Nadia loves prison so it’s a great song.

Q : Are there other Muppets that we don’t see a lot of?

KERMIT : Well Lou is there. You know, we try to bring the whole crew back again. I don’t know if I Lou has a big part necessarily but you’ll see him. Who else? Link Hogthrob is there. Uh, another character is back and really back is Annie Sue Pig. Any of you know Annie Sue? You have to be a Muppet show fan to be a Annie Sue. She’s actually back. I can’t remember if she had any lines but she was there.

Q : How do the ladies feel about that?

KERMIT : Well, you know, some things never change. You know, you don’t wanna mess with that.

It was really great chatting with Kermit The Frog again. He’s so intelligent and insightful. His movie comes out March 21st.

Inside The Muppets: Kermit Says It’s Much Easier Being Green

November 16, 2011 by Momstart 29 Comments

During that interview with Miss Piggy, I also had the chance to sit down and talk to Kermit the Frog. He’s much more level headed than Miss Piggy and wanted to know about my daughter Zoe, which thrilled me to death when he asked me what her favorite color was. In case you guys don’t know which you should because I talk about Zoe all the time, her favorite color is any shade of purple, lavender just like Miss Piggy is what she would probably say today.

The Muppets

Here are the rest of the highlights from the interview with Kermit.

Q : So what were you doing all these years before you started production on this last movie?

Kermit’s Response:

Oh, lots of stuff. You know, it’s been, it’s been quite a few years since we’ve done a big movie. You know, we haven’t done that in a long time but, uh, we’ve done lots of other stuff that we can talk about. We just thought we were trying to come back to the big screen. We did do the Bohemian Rhapsody so we’ve been together.

Q : Do you find it’s easier to be green, now?

Before I give you his response, you’ve all heard of The Rainbow connection and his song about It isn’t easy being green right. He’s a great singer and one of the best I know at expressing his feelings. So if you hvaen’t seen Being Green, then here it is. It’s not Easy being Green!

Kermit’s Response:

I think so. It’s taken on all these new meanings. When I said that originally, when I sang that song it was about being accepted in the world and these days it’s a lot more about the environment I think, you know. People are kind of taking it to mean that. But, uh, I think it’s just about being comfortable in your own skin. And It can be tough especially in Hollywood so you have to make your place in the film industry.

Q : How did you like your new costars?

Kermit’s Response:

Oh, wonderful. It was wonderful working with Jason. You know, Jason actually wrote this thing to begin with and it went through about 17 thousand rewrites but he’s the guy who wanted to make this movie with us.

The Muppets Are Coming

When asked about children, he said they’re a big responsibility and then Miss Piggy mentioned something about wanting some and well he changed the subject as quickly as he possibly could.

Inside The Muppets: The Commonalities Between Miss Piggy And My Daughter

November 15, 2011 by Momstart 6 Comments

My daughter who is only four is so excited about The Muppets coming out November 23rd. She wants to watch anything and everything we can find on the internet that has Miss Piggy in it. Miss Piggy has suddenly become one of my daughters idols and as I sit here thinking about how interested Zoe is in Miss Piggy it’s no big surprise because they have so much in common.

image

In an interview with Miss Piggy she was asked how she liked working at French Vogue, well, she got right down to the point. She didn’t really work there she was acting for the Movie The Muppets. “I did not really work there. This is a movie we’re talking about. You all know that, right? It was, it was lovely. It was lovely. I wish we’d actually shot on location. Paris, — we shot here in the back lot.” If you haven’t noticed, Miss Piggy is a very direct character, over the top at time direct. So is my daughter!

image

Something else they both have in common is that they are both very fashionable. Zoe has had a fashion sense since she was 15 months old. She just learned how to walk and suddenly she was picking out her own clothes and accessories. And Miss Piggy says fashion is wonderful and loves the clothes she wears in the movie. “Those are real and it’s wonderful, it’s fabulous. I love to do free clothes from, from fashion designers.” And so does my daughter!

image

When I asked Miss Piggy what her favorite color was, she said she wears a lot of lavender and that probably is her favorite color. Lavender matches everything. My daughter must have gotten her coordination directly from Miss Piggy because she’s always wearing some shade of purple even when I think it doesn’t at all match. I just keep my mouth shut because I know she’ll just tell me I’m wrong and have no fashion sense. Not like they do at least.

image

One thing I adore about Miss Piggy  is the great advice she gave about kids playing outside. She said, “Kids need to play. They need to go outside and play and run and jump and skip and have fun.”  This makes me quite happy with Zoe’s new idol choice.

The Muppets

Some other great advice I’ve seen Miss Piggy share is about Facebook. Miss Piggy wants you to like the Muppets on Facebook a Bazillion times because you guys are wasting likes on things like Lima Beans. Zoe agrees! The only green you should like is Kermit! The Muppets comes out in Theaters November 23rd.

The Truth is Out Kermit and Miss Piggy are JUST FRIENDS

September 20, 2011 by Momstart 25 Comments

I’ve been following the story for some time now as I’ve been getting ready for the New Muppets movie to come out since January. You see back in January I had the opportunity to go back stage with Miss Piggy and Kermit and they were very cordial and kind. I was able to see one of their scenes being filmed and was reminded to be quiet on the set.

the muppets movie

Then back in June I asked the question? Did Miss Piggy and Kermit ever get married? No, they haven’t. I knew that would be world breaking news right? Everyone knows that Miss Piggy is madly in love with Kermit but I never really knew how Kermit felt. So how does Kermit feel?

“Miss Piggy and I have a professional relationship. I think we’re professionals; she thinks we’re in a relationship. Actually, Miss Piggy and I are good friends, but just friends. We like each other a great deal, but we are not romantically involved—despite her best efforts.”

clip_image001

There you have it, in a recent interview with the frog he admitted that they are JUST FRIENDS! He goes further to discuss how it was working with her again.

“I have to say: working with Miss Piggy is always a pleasure. I have to say that ‘cause she makes me say it.

This was a different kind of movie for us. Normally, Piggy and I are together right from the start. But in Disney’s “The Muppets,” Miss Piggy is over in Paris and we have to go get her. That was challenging for me. France is tough for frogs… with legs.”

Check out the rest of his interview for his upcoming movie, The Muppets.

What is your role in Disney’s “The Muppets”?

I play me, Kermit the Frog. I’ve played other parts, like Bob Crachit in “A Muppet Christmas Carol” and Captain Smollett in “Muppet Treasure Island,” but I think “me” is my favorite part.

Playing a frog named Kermit might be type casting, but there aren’t a lot of great parts for amphibians, so I was happy to get the part.

In the movie—and in life, really—I’m a humble frog in Hollywood who wants to get back together with his friends and keep entertaining people.

clip_image001[4]

How does your life differ from the characters you play in the films?

Well, on the big screen. I’m 16 feet tall. But in real life, it’s closer to 18 inches. So, I’d have to say the biggest difference is more height—and better lighting.

Seriously, though, my life on screen and off screen is about the same. In real life and on film, I’m surrounded by chaos, craziness, and romantic pigs—just like any other Hollywood star.

Why did you want to take part in this film?

I understand they considered other actors—George Clooney, Tom Hanks. But in the end, when it comes to playing short, green and amphibious, I’m still Hollywood’s go-to guy. According to director James Bobin, when I read for the role of “me,” I nailed it.

Kermit

What is the funniest scene in the film?

I like the scene where everything goes crazy and no one knows what to do. It’s total mad chaos…..Hmm, come to think of it, that describes most of the movie.

I can’t pick JUST one scene—all the other scenes would get jealous. But I really do like the big finale. Lots of singing, dancing, laughing… and, I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s happy, too.

What was it like working opposite Jason Segel?

Jason is not only a great comedian, but as a co-writer of the movie, he’s great to work with. If you forget your lines, he can make up new ones.

Jason’s a swell guy. He really loved the Muppets before we worked together…and he still loves us after. That’s a true fan. And he has such a fantastic sense of humor. He can find funny everywhere… even in Fozzie’s act.

…Chris Cooper?

Chris plays the villain, Tex Richman, yet he’s really the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. That’s an incredible feat: being a good guy and playing a bad guy. When it comes to acting, it’s not that easy being mean.

…Amy Adams?

Amy is incredible. She’s so beautiful and talented and funny. I’d love to make every movie with her…. but Miss Piggy won’t let me.

She’s also a great actress: she can sing and dance, and she has three Academy Award® nominations. I’m hoping she gets an Oscar® for Disney’s “The Muppets.” If not, I’m willing to paint myself gold and stand on her mantle.

Describe director James Bobin.

James has a quirky sense of humor. Just watch his work on “Flight of the Conchords” and you can see this isn’t someone who sees the world like everyone else. Not being normal helps when you work with the Muppets. He’s a consummate professional—and we’re not, so we really needed him.

What is your advice for up-and-coming frogs/actors?

Never say croak.

Meeting The Muppets

June 20, 2011 by Momstart 9 Comments

Back in January I had the chance to sit down with Miss Piggy and Kermit and discuss the upcoming movie bringing the gang back together and how it’s been 11 years since the Muppets’ last big-screen feature film

The Muppets

I also had the chance to meet Walter. Walter is the world’s biggest Muppet fan. He becomes friends with Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) and sets out to get the Muppet gang back together. Kermit and Miss Piggy were living separately as Miss Piggy was perusing a career as a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris. As Kermit, Mary, Walter, and Gary set out to get everyone back together they discover a nefarious plan to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds by an oilman named Tex Richman (Chis Cooper). But first they had to finish finding everyone else. Fozzie was in Reno performing with a casino tribute band called the Moopets. Animal was in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo was a high-powered plumbing magnate.

After chatting with me the Muppets allowed me to watch the filing of their movie. They take acting very seriously (they were constantly reminded to stop making jokes and concentrate on their fabulous acting skills). It was an experience to remember. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, “The Muppets” hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.

Did Miss Piggy and Kermit Ever Get Married?

June 13, 2011 by Momstart 1 Comment

With the new movie The Muppets, I found out that Miss Piggy and Kermit aren’t happily together forever. Walter, who happens to be the world’s biggest Muppet fan is focused on bringing the whole gang back together it. Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Muppets, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate, and Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris.

clip_image001The fact that Kermit was in the states while Miss Piggy was in France made me wonder if Miss Piggy and Kermit ever got married? Miss Piggy has had googly eyes for that cute green frog forever and I couldn’t tell if it was completely one way or not. Seems like Miss Piggy was strong willed enough that if she wanted a marriage it would have happened right?

Maybe they didn’t handle pre marriage counseling very well. And maybe they did get married and they could have used Mort Fertel (marriage counseling) from Marriage Max. Marriage Max specializes in saving marriages. And maybe they never really got married. Perhaps Miss Piggy was just too career oriented and decided she couldn’t have both. All I can picture, is Miss Piggy with her feather boa wrapped around Kermit and how could he resist that? I guess even for muppets there is more to marriage than a feather boa inspired marriage.

I’ll be in Hollywood later this week watching the Muppet movie footage courtesy of Disney. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, “The Muppets” hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.
