Band-Aids have come a long, LONG way since I was a kid. I remember how cool I though “ouchless” BAND-AID® s were. I feel like that should be on one of those “Remember When” lists. Remember when it hurt like a monkey’s uncle to tear off a BAND-AID®? Then came the crazy colors, super cool characters, and I’m not even going to touch on the amazing knuckle BAND-AIDs or BAND-AIDs with Neosporin already on them! I know we’re all amazed by advances in technology… but I am dead serious when I say that advances in BAND-AIDs have impacted my life for the better!
So what happens when you put those two things together – advances in technology and advances in BAND-AID® awesomeness? You get an app designed specifically about BAND-AID® s. If you haven’t seen the BAND-AID® Magic Vision app featuring the Muppets, then you need to check it out ASAP. I’m sure that the thought behind it was to help kids feel better when they get hurt through the wonderful world of distraction, but who are we kidding? This app doesn’t just distract kids when they are working to get past a rough scraped knee or an owie on their finger… it’s also just fun to play with!
The app uses augmented reality to scan a Muppets BAND-AID® or box so that kids can become part of the magical Muppet world. They can swing with Kermit the Frog as he sings Rainbow Connection, or strike a pose with the divine swine, Miss Piggy herself. Gonzo the Great is even available to bring out the giggles in with his one of a kind, daredevil stunts. They coolest part is that you can take pictures (and store them) with the characters. You don’t believe me? The proof is in the pictures. 😉
Johnson and Johnson is always on the cutting edge of first aid care. It’s really no surprise that they found a way to make BAND-AIDs interactive and fun. Check out the Magic Vision app featuring the Muppets (for iPhone/iPad) as soon as you can. Your kids (and YOU) will never think of BAND-AIDs the same way.
