When you hit that mommy moment, that end of the day moment where you just want to scream what do you do? I know I’ve had those moments, because I keep it all in all the time. I hate confrontation and am a very quite person. Whenever anyone meets me they are always shocked because of my blog. Not sure why it’s not like I start anything ?
I get off topic so easily.
If you need to let it out then do it. According to Dr. Arthur Janov (author of the best-selling book The Primal Scream), “the number one killer in the world today is not cancer or heart disease, it is repression”.
And Ram Dass, in his book The Handbook of Higher Consciousness recommends covering your head with a pillow and screaming “no negative thinking” into the pillow over and over again.
I’m guilty! Like I said above, I hold it in and hold it in and one day I’m going to pop. Some co-worker of mine said I was like a postal employee and that she thought I was going to lose it one day. I never have. But, I even had the nickname, Postal Weazey in college. Ahh, the days before children, now I feel like I always have to be in control. Well, not anymore. The Screaming Pillow will let us all let it out.
The creator of the Screaming Pillow is Gabrielle Yetter, and this is her store of the creation of the Screaming Pillow:
The Screaming Pillow was created after my sister, Katy Langaas, and her three-month-old baby, Sven, were killed in a car accident in South Africa.
Our mother, Colette Said, began receiving emotional support from The Compassionate Friends, a worldwide bereavement organization, whose counselors suggested she scream into a pillow to let out her emotions.
Years later, I created The Screaming Pillow as a novelty gift with a therapeutic benefit. The pillow provides an outlet for pent-up emotions – anger, pain, frustration, joy, excitement, fear – and, when not put to therapeutic use, becomes an unusual, decorative accessory.
The Screaming Pillow is a product of The Brightside Group, Inc., a company I created to remind people through our products that there can always be a positive way to see a negative situation and to encourage people to “look on the bright side”.
The name “Brightside” is in memory of Katy who was born in Brighton, England and whose maiden name was Said (pronounced “side”).
