Lori Loughlin Stars in Garage Sale Mystery: All That Glitters @HallmarkMovie @LoriLoughlin #GarageSaleMystery

August 30, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

The adventures of Jennifer Shannon continue in "Garage Sale Mystery: All That Glitters,” a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Original World Premiere Sunday, October 26 (9p.m. ET/PT, 8C).  Lori Loughlin (“When Calls the Heart,” “90210”) stars in the thrilling contemporary mystery.  Steve Bacic (“When Calls the Heart”), Sarah Strange (“Motive”), Brendan Meyer (“The Christmas Ornament”) also star in the second installment of the “Garage Sale Mystery” movie series with Loughlin as a sleuthing yard sale treasure hunter who uses her keen eye to solve crimes.  The “Garage Sale Mystery” movies are based on the book by author Suzi Weinert.

Garage Sale Mystery - All That Glitters

“A beloved member of the Crown Media family, Lori Loughlin is a fan favorite with our audience and we’re delighted to continue working with her on the next film in the ‘Garage Sale Mystery’ movie series,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming, Crown Media Family Networks. “Her exceptional talent and contagious spirit on screen will keep viewers coming back for more as they tune into to another mystery only Jennifer Shannon can solve.”

Jennifer Shannon (Loughlin) has a gift for finding rare treasures hidden in garage sales that she can resell at her consignment store, Rags to Riches.  But her keen eye for finding valuables also gets her involved in the criminal investigations that happen at the very second-hand sales she frequents.  When Jennifer’s friend and self-storage facility owner Martin (Michael Kopsa) turns up murdered—just hours after auctioning off an abandoned storage unit full of unique items to Jennifer—she is immediately pulled on the case as a key eyewitness.  Working with Detective Lynwood (Kevin O’Grady), Jennifer helps single out a disgruntled customer as the prime suspect, while she and her business partner, Danielle (Strange), sift through boxes from the auction.  As her husband Jason (Bacic) worries about her safety, Jennifer starts to get over her head when there is a break-in at her store, and a run-in with Martin’s angry wife.  Then, Jennifer and Danielle discover their new merchandise contains the sparkly evidence they needed all along to nail the surprising real culprit, and they must race to save a life—and put their own on the line.

“Garage Sale Mystery: All That Glitters” is a Bargain Street Productions II Ltd. Production.  Jonathan Axelrod, Harvey Kahn, Alan Ett and Peter DeLuise are the executive producers.   Peter DeLuise directs from a script by Walter Klenhard based on the novel Garage Sale Stalker by Suzi Weinert.

Recently rebranded from Hallmark Movie Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is a 24-hour digital cable network featuring a unique mix of original movies and acquired series focused on the lighter side of the suspense and mystery genres.

The network is also home to annual holiday programming franchise, the Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas, as well as presentations from the award-winning Hallmark Hall of Fame library. One of television’s leading destinations for compelling family-friendly entertainment, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries can be seen in 54 million homes in SD (Standard Definition) and HD (High Definition) and remains one of the fastest-growing networks in cable. Along with sister network, Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is the second linear channel from Crown Media Holdings, Inc.

December 10, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

imageI am being compensated by Hallmark but the content and opinions are my own.

I’ve already posted on how you can earn rewards with the Hallmark Card Rewards. All you have to do is purchase cards and with every  five Hallmark cards you buy, no matter where you buy them including over 30,000 grocery and drugstores and supercenters across the country. Not only will you accrue points that you can use to wards gift cards but you will also receive exclusive ideas and offers to continue to be the thoughtful person you are (you know because you send people cards and uplift their spirits with them) Now I’m going to post a coupon on saving money when you purchase over $10 or more with each purchase. So yeah I’m going to tell you to break up your purchases into $10 or more purchases. Because with your purchase of $10 or more you will receive a savings of $5.00 on your purchase.  (Please note: this coupon is valid for purchases for full-priced merchandise at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores only. )

image

image

We use Hallmark to keep up our family traditions. We go into a Hallmark Gold Crown store every year to find the most recent photo ornament and we purchase that for our yearly photo ornament. We love the Hallmark Ornaments because they include the year and then the place for us to put our favorite photo from that year. Like here is our favorite photo from 2010 it’s a photo of us making a snow man with boxes. image

Yes we used card board boxes that year, we filled them with snow and made a box snow man. That’s that last time I remember such a wonderful snow so close to Christmas. Now all we’ve had is cold and dry during the holidays but it’s still close enough we can wish for a white Christmas.

So with this post there are two things I want to make sure you remember.

ONE:

you will receive a savings of $5.00 on your purchase

Two:

Save money using the Hallmark Card Rewards.

Rewards Program: Hallmark Card Rewards @Hallmark #hallmarkcardrewards

December 2, 2013 by Momstart 2 Comments

This is a sponsored post with Hallmark. My opinions are my own.

Cards are so much fun to read, give and receive. I love it when someone I know is having a birthday party because it’s so much fun to pick out a greeting card. And really when it comes to greeting cards Hallmark is the best. Christmas Cards are probably one of the most mailed cards just because we all make a long long list of who to send cards to. Now you can earn points for the cards you purchase and send with the Halmark Card Rewards.

I love the idea of earning Starbucks gift cards. I have a coffee addiction like nothing else. And you should know, tracking your rewards is super duper easy!

image

Taking The Get Carded Challenge With Hallmark!

August 6, 2013 by Beeb 17 Comments

Hallmark: Get Carded!

Cards & postage for challenge provided by Hallmark.

I’m one of the few people I know who still really enjoys sending snail mail. I love sending “Real” cards for special occasions! So when Hallmark invited me to participate in their Get Carded Challenge, I thought this would be a great chance to catch up on some card-writing that I had already intended to do. The idea behind this challenge is to send 7 cards in 7 days to 7 people you care about. Challenge accepted!

Day 1 – Friday, July 26th: Jai brought in the mail, and one of the packages was my “Get Carded” collection. This was a surprise selection of Hallmark cards of all varieties and categories. When I looked through the collection of cards, I found one that was written for a long-distance relationship. It was very flowery and talked about the agony of being apart and wishing to be reunited to hold one another again. So I wrote, “It’s been an agonizing 5 minutes since I last saw you!” and walked upstairs to hand the card over to Jai. We got a good laugh out of that! 😉

Day 2 – Saturday, July 27th: One of my great-aunts recently fell and broke her back, so I wanted to send her a “Get well soon” card as well as thank her for a nice letter she sent me recently. I picked out a really pretty card from the pile which featured an embroidered fabric design. It was blank inside, so I was able to write a note wishing her a speedy recovery and say thank you for the lovely letter she sent me.

Day 3 – Monday, July 29th: We have a dear friend who hasn’t been well, so I sent her a pretty friendship card expressing how much I value her; inside, I wrote a personal “Get well soon” message.

Day 4 – Tuesday July 30th: One of my BFFs and I have been cracking jokes about what an insane summer this is for both of us – we’re both so swamped: Me, with my business, and her, with school. So there was one card in my package that immediately cracked me up: It said, “Do NOT freak out” on the outside, and “There’s no problem that you, me and a bottle of wine can’t solve” on the inside. I sent it to my friend because it was just too fitting, and on the inside I drew a coupon good for a girl’s night, since we’re going to get together for her birthday this month. The very next day she sent me an email and said: “Thanks for the card. I needed it!” and that she was looking forward to our night in.

Day 5 – Wednesday July 31st: Another good friend is having a birthday this month, so I sent her a flowery friendship birthday card. She lives several hours away, so cards are nice when you can’t see someone in person often!

Day 6 – Thursday, August 1st: One of the cards I received had a cute elephant on it and was meant to wish kids a fun time at summer camp. I actually scratched out the “Camp” part and gave it to our Grandma to to wish her a happy summer, because I knew she’d get a kick out of it. She enjoyed it and told Jai specifically, “Tell Beeb thank you” for the card!

Day 7 – Friday, August 2nd: One of my relative’s birthdays was coming up – yes, we know a lot of August babies! – so I had sent her a message earlier in the week to get her current address, since she’s in the Navy and moving around. I found out that she was actually going to be in town visiting, so rather than mail it Friday, I hung onto her card until I was able to hand it to her in person with a big hug! She loved the green envelope – when you open the card, it has a disguise mask and says, “This isn’t just a birthday card – it’s a high-five in disguise!” It came with a special “Magic” ink that reveals a different color when you stamp your handprint on it. I had a heck of a time getting the ink out of my hand after making the card, so she got a laugh when I told her my anecdote!

Day 8 – BONUS! Saturday, August 3rd: We were headed to a family reunion, and our great-aunt – the same one who I sent a “Get well” card to at the beginning of the challenge – was also having her 92nd birthday. I took along a cute birthday card with a decorative pennant on it that said “Celebrate”; she really liked the front of the card and appreciated the thought.

Are you up to the challenge? Bloggers who are interested in the Get Carded Challenge can click here to fill out a form to sign up. Blogs that meet the criteria will be provided with cards to take their own 7-day challenge. And all readers can use the coupon code BLOG30 to save 30% on cards from Hallmark.com!

A Love of Hallmark Ornaments

December 18, 2010 by Momstart 10 Comments

Happy Holidays Hallmark Photo OrnamentQuite simply put, I love Hallmark Christmas Ornaments. My husband and I drool over their Star Wars and Star Trek ornaments every Christmas. Me being the tightwad that I am have never been able to stomach the price of the Hallmark Holiday Ornaments, however, somehow having children makes the price, not quite as important.

One of the frames we just love, are the large array of Our Family Hallmark Photo Ornamentphoto ornaments. We have two we purchased last year, and two I received from Hallmark PR this year. The ones we have last year, one has a family picture and the other has a photo of the kids together. So this year, we did the same thing with the photo frames we received for review.

The Happy Holidays photo frame with the photo of Zoe and Miles playing on the couch plays the song, “Happy Holidays”. It was fun putting it on the tree because Miles man pushed the button about 10 times. Christmas makes me so happy! I adore everything about Christmas, the music, the food, the family time. I LOVE IT.

Jessie Hallmark OrnamentThis year when we were searching for the special ornaments for the kids (we get ornaments for the kids every year, it’s a tradition, it’s been a tradition for my husband and I since we were both kids and we wanted to do it for our own children) we waited a tad too long for one of them.

The kids are very much in Love with everything Toy Story. It doesn’t matter which story, 1, 2, or 3 Miles loves them all. Zoe, prefers the episodes with Jessie of course, which is why we Fisher Price Airplane Hallmark Ornamentpurchased the Jessie ornament for her. Which leads me to what we waited too long for. We wanted to get Miles the High-Flyin’ Friends. Apparently Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments are harder to find especially the Toy Story ornaments. We called every Hallmark Store in the area, and my husband decided to pick another ornament for Miles man. He picked out the Play Family Fun Jet. The Family Fun Jet was still a great big hit. Miles Loves it. He loves airplanes, he loves Our Christmas Tree 2010taking me on blogging trips because he knows that means he will get to see another airplane.

So this is our Christmas tree, it’s filled with lots of love, beautiful lights, and plenty of meaningful ornaments.

We received A Hallmark Sample Kit of assorted Hallmark items, including the two photo frames you see in the first pictures. I was in attendance at a party sponsored by Hallmark at Blogher 2010 and connected with their PR firm there. None of this affects the fact that I have and always will love Hallmark. They have excellent products all year round, Precious Moments were always a big tradition growing up, but now, it’s mainly a Christmas store, and of course, I can always find the perfect card in there too. Thank you Hallmark for the samples. Miles and Zoe also love the Recordable Story book Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Brighten Someone’s Day with Hallmark Webcam Greetings Giveaway

May 20, 2010 by Momstart 30 Comments

When I first thought of “Webcam Greetings” I thought, what’s the big deal? Doesn’t everyone already have free greeting cards you can get on-line. Yes, but wait, that’s not what Hallmark’s new Webcam Greetings are at all. No, they are so much more, and have been entertaining my kids since Hallmark sent us a handful of different Webcam Greetings. My favorite one is the you’re the best card shown here. It makes me smile every time I listen to it.
I’m also fond of the You are not old card I received from them, having just turned 30. That’s an age most women aren’t excited to reach, so I thought it was ironic that they chose to send me that card.

Brining Back Rainbow Bright with an Activity CD #giveaway

February 19, 2010 by Momstart 65 Comments

Wow, Rainbow bright has come along way. I still have my collection of Rainbow Bright Dolls. I was obsessed with getting them back and made my parents mail them to me when I moved to WA. Spoiled, yes I probably was. I did share them though with my youngest sister. I loved all the movies, cartoons and real life shows. I lived and breathed Rainbow Bright in the 80’s. She was everything to me. I pretended to be in her world and that I had the key that I could use in my closet that would let me into Rainbow Land. My cousins played with me too.

Now I let my daughter play with them. I noticed that Rainbow Bright is trying to make a comeback, but she looks so different. I think she looks more like Barbie now than the Cabbage Pach style she had going before. Why did she change? Is it because little girls are growing up faster and need to play with a more mature doll?

[RainbowDoll.jpg]

It’s the truth isn’t it. 😉 My little one is getting to be such a big girl already.

[208.jpg]

You can find her and her friends at Target and later at Toys R Us and online at Hallmark.com. I received an activity CD to experience the New Rainbow Bright. I learned about her friends that have changed and stayed the same. Like Puppy Bright, Starlight, and Twink. Then she has new friends, Moonglow (looks a lot like Stormy) and Tickled Pink (looks a lot like Baby Bright) and their horses and sprites.

I have 10 CD’s and I’d love to give two to five winners, then you can have one and give one to a friend.

On the CD, you will find a short movie, games, and all the information about Rainbow Bright you could want. Your child can create coloring pages and colored wall pages that you can print out for even more fun. There are so many activities it should keep your kid busy for a while.

Hallmark The Edge of Motherhood Card Review

August 19, 2009 by Momstart 1 Comment

"This post was written for Family Review Network as part of a program for Hallmark, who supplied the cards for review

The Edge of Motherhood has been around the blogosphere lately. We were asked to review them. They sent me an assortment of cards to look at and I was quite impressed. We, my family in Texas enjoyed looking at them. They were funny and I sent one to my husband.

It was a talking card and I sent it to where he works. He said, Honey, I love you, I don’t want to embarrass you, but I LOVE YOU. In a very gushy annoying voice. Well, something like that but I think it brightened his day.

Product Information:

Hallmark is focused on helping people spread encouragement. They are currently focusing on those of us that are stressed to the max. We have quite a few tasks that we do from day to day. They call us mothers. Well, ok they are going to both to moms and to children (with back to school, team tryouts, and much more coming up). So I wanted to share a couple of their new collections that may be of interest.

Moms experience moments that can only be fully appreciated by other moms. This is something I understand now that I’m a mom. Having kids has really given me an appreciation for my parents.

So, to help encourage moms through the day-to-day challenges of motherhood – and give a few laughs along the way – Hallmark has introduced a new line of humor cards called “Edge of Motherhood.”

There are quite a a few goods ones that I received.

A recent national survey commissioned by Hallmark revealed two-thirds of moms say they handle the imperfect moments of motherhood by sharing funny stories with other moms about their experiences, and that 8 in 10 moms turn to each other for candid, empathetic, and unapologetic support and reassurance that “we are all in this together.” Ideally, these new, edgy humor cards will help moms share a laugh, connect with one another and celebrate motherhood — and they start at just 99 cents.

Let’s not forget about the children here. For kids, Hallmark’s new collection of encouragement cards are designed to help parents provide an extra boost of confidence for kids as they experience “everyday” moments. There are so many crazy every day moments. For me they consist of changing diapers, walking, learning abc, so for you– whether it’s the first day of school, taking a test or trying out for a team. The cards incorporate humor and heartfelt messages to help adults show support, pride and give a special child a boost of confidence. I could have used one of these cards from time to time. My parents weren’t the best at saying good things, they were always better at saying the negative.

(Some of the cards include originally recorded sound clips too, which play when a child opens the card!) These cards start at 99 cents, and the encouragement cards with sound retail for $2.99.

Both collections of cards are available at select Hallmark Gold Crown stores and other retailers where Hallmark cards are sold. And some styles of the “Edge of Motherhood” cards are available online at hallmark.com: http://tinyurl.com/ll8d4m (full collection is only in stores).

I’m going to be loving the cards that I have. It’s nice to have a spare card to just give to someone when they need to be cheered up and Hallmark has always been good at cheering people up.
