This photo was taken during my stay in Myrtle Beach when I visited the Huntington Gardens. It’s a beautiful place to go visit with so much to do. You can’t even possibly get it all done in one day. I love the varieties in the plants they have. I never know there were so many different varieties of the same plants and that they would all grow in one location like this. I wish I could remember what those big pink plants were called. It’s a common plant that’s not usually pink. At least I’ve never seen it pink before.
Flower Quotes: A Beautiful Bouquet Cannot Blossom Without Sunshine…
A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love.
Max Muller
I’ve been inspired by my photography lately to play with features and meanings shared through quotes! I took this photo of this bouquet at Pike Place Market in Seattle.
That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind.
William Wordsworth
Love is like a beautiful flower which I may not touch, but whose fragrance makes the garden a place of delight just the same.
Helen Keller
To see the world in a grain of sand, and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hands, and eternity in an hour.
William Blake
By plucking her petals, you do not gather the beauty of the flower.
Rabindranath Tagore
Happy Mother’s Day Flowers
Happy Mother’s Day!
I took this photo at Pike Place Market and used Photoshop. I added the text and took some color away. I LOVE this photo. I’m very fortunate. My husband bought me a car this year for Mother’s day and my birthday. I feel like a very lucky woman. I hope you had an amazing mother’s day. I sure did!
DisneyNature’s Wings of Life The Nature Video Of the Year
Butterflies, I told you Zoe loves butterflies. I hand painted butterflies on her walls. She loves butterflies and Wings of Life is all about butterflies. We received a sample to preview and watch of DisneyNature’s Wings of Life.
In this closer-than-close, high-definition look at the intricate world of butterflies, hummingbirds, bees and bats, and their life-sustaining collaboration with flowers you’ll be amazed and mesmerized. Directed by Louie Schwartzberg (“America’s Heart & Soul”) and narrated by Academy Award® winner Meryl Streep, “Wings of Life” is now available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, Digital and On Demand .
It’s amazing how they can use the cameras to capture things that are so hard for us to see with our eyes. I love how DisneyNature is so very amazing. I love so many, no all of their movies. It’s such an educational way to show nature to your kids. It’s great to see the bats, humming birds and butterflies in their own not crowded exhibits. Seeing the butterflies at the zoo is always difficult because it’s crowded and a frantic rush because there are so many of them in one place I get a little freaked out. I’d much prefer to watch them this way with frame rates of 1500 rates per second so I can see all the details.
I shared this once but I wanted to make sure you check out this 25-page educational guide, created by Disney’s Animal Kingdom Education Team, which introduces learners in grades 2–4 to the amazing and often unseen world of pollinators through science, math and art! Activity sheets, games and units of inquiry help curious young minds explore the plant and animal worlds as well as the many ways that humans depend on them.
