It’s time to start planning for the 4th of July and summertime BBQs. I find a lot of invitations say BYOB something to share. It’s always my pleasure to do so, but it’s hard to know what tastes good, at a good price, and is simple. Just think flip flops – really, flipflop Wines; simple name so you’ll remember what to pick up on your way to the summertime get-togethers.
Flip flop your thoughts on wine as flipflop Wines isn’t for the elite, but for the everyday buyer; flipflop Wine is just as laid back as their name. This is a great table wine which helps you pick out what you’re looking for at your next meal with their easy to read labels; there is no “build-themselves-up non-sense” on the label just the information you’re looking for – what to expect in the taste, what to pair it with, how to serve it, and dry/sweetness factor.
My husband and I tried and enjoyed the Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Pinot Noir varieties. We had the Pinot Noir on Mother’s Day with a steak and sides my husband and boys prepared. The Riesling and Pinot Grigio were enjoyed during other meals and post dinner for some end of day winding down. We both enjoy wine; we don’t know much about it and don’t care to, we just want to drink something yummy. So, flipflop Wines has us pegged!
But if you do a more about wine then our household, vintner, David Georges graduated with a B.S. in both viticulture (grape growing) and enology (winemaking) from the University of California at Davis. He was mentored under Andy Walker, the world’s foremost vine and rootstock expert. David honed his skills as a viticulture-trained winemaker at Codorníu (now Artesa), Davis Bynum Winery and Raymond Merlo Estate Vineyard. David started his first flipflop vintage in 2009; flipflop Wines was branded under the Underdog Wine Merchants portfolio.
David Georges wants you to know, “People have a personal attachment to their favorite pair of flip flops, their favorite food and to their favorite wine style. We craft seven different varietals that allow each wine lover to discover their favorite. That’s the spirit of our philosophy – ‘to each their own.’ These are just good wines that complement the everyday casual lifestyle. My goal was to stay true to the varietal character, to be expressive and to be well-balanced, and be affordable for people of all economic levels.” Wine experts and commoners (such as me) can all enjoy flipflop Wines.
One of my favorite things about flipflop Wines and David Georges is they both stretch beyond wine making. They are supporters of Friend of the Forest, Netting Nations, Habitat for Humanity and Soles4Souls. In fact, if you buy a bottle of flipflop Wine a pair of flip flop sandals is giving to a person in need through Soles4Souls. flipflop is a great wine that does good.
