Finding Nemo Blu-ray Combo Pack, 3D Blu-ray and An Alternate Opening

December 5, 2012 by Momstart 7 Comments

FINDING NEMO 3D was released on Blu-ray Hi-Def, Blu-ray 3D, DVD and Digital Platforms! To celebrate this fin-tastic release I have an alternate opening to show you (it’s a sneak peak of some of the great bonus material!) So stop clowning around and take a look at this underwater extra!

The Blu-ray combo packs also feature new content including a short film.  Of course, all of the classic content is available as well.  You can purchase a 3 or 5 disc Collector’s Edition.  The 5 disc features the 3D Blu-ray if your TV has the compatibility.

clip_image001Finding Nemo looks fantastic in 3D and in Blu-ray. We saw finding Nemo in 3D at the movie theater, out TV isn’t equipped to play 3D yet. We love the story of Nemo. The kids have been watching him for years.

The film fully immerses viewers in the stunning underwater world of Finding Nemo! From the creators of Toy Story and Monsters, Inc., Disney•Pixar’s critically acclaimed and heartwarming tale splashes off the screen with brilliant digital picture, high definition sound and breathtaking 3D bonus features that transport you beyond your imagination.

"Finding Nemo," first released in theaters in 2003, earned the Oscar® for Best Animated Feature Film and remains the fifth highest grossing animated film worldwide. In 2008, the American Film Institute named ―Finding Nemo‖ among the top 10 greatest animated films ever made, and it is the second highest grossing Pixar film to date (behind "Toy Story 3").

The Blu-ray 2D and 3D debuts mark the first time ―Finding Nemo‖ has ever been available in these hi-def formats. Featuring pristine high definition picture and sound, the Blu-ray creates an incredible at-home experience with a host of interactive features and bonus features including 3D Virtual Aquariums, 2D Virtual Aquariums, CineExplore, A Filmmakers’ Roundtable and more.

Finding Nemo 3D Snacks Dive Into Delicious Recipe

Finding Nemo 3D Snacks – Dive Into Delicious!

By: Ashley

I absolutely LOVE Finding Nemo. I also love that Disney and Pixar decided to release it in 3D. What better way to celebrate than a Finding Nemo 3D themed snack? A little creativity, some Swedish Fish, and some JELLO and you’re all set! I’ve seen this done with some other snacks and candies, so I figured a Nemo themed snack would make it perfect. J

imageIngredients:

– Clear plastic cups

– Berry Blue JELLO

– Swedish Fish

Directions:

First, separate the package of gelatin mixture into 2 equal parts. Set aside half for later.

Make half of the JELLO (use ½ c. boiling water and ½ c. cold water instead of the full amount). Pour the JELLO equally between the four cups.

image

Allow the JELLO to begin to stiffen. Push one Swedish Fish into the center of each JELLO cup.

Make the second half of the JELLO. Add it to the existing cup of JELLO covering up the Swedish Fish.

image

Allow the JELLO to set completely.

image

Serve and enjoy!

Finding Nemo 3D in Theaters 9/14 Review Coloring Sheets & Activity Pages

September 10, 2012 by Momstart 20 Comments

3D keeps getting better and better and Pixar is amazing. Last weekend I took the family to watch and early screening of Finding Nemo 3D. It was bigger, brighter and a little scarier.

Miles said, “I loved all the funny parts” age four

Zoe said, “I loved the whale” age five

I loved how fantastic it looked in 3D.

While I was watching Finding Nemo I found myself repeating many of the lines as I’ve seen it so many times. I was wondering while I sat there in the audience listening to everyone laugh if there are still people out there that haven’t seen the movie. Just in case you haven’t seen the movie I’ll give you a quick synopsis.

image

Finding Nemo is about Nemo, he was born with a gimpy gill after his mother and all his brothers and sisters were killed by a shark. His father then determined to keep his only family member alive over protected him as a child. The first opportunity Nemo was given to get into trouble he got into BIG MAJOR OH NO HE’s SWIMMING OUT TO SEA kind of trouble. On his way back he was captured by a sea diver. The diver puts him into a fish tank and his goal becomes getting out while his father’s goal is to find him. Marlin (Nemo’s dad) has to cross the ocean suddenly living life again to learn how to let go and let his son grow up naturally. Are they reunited? Go watch Finding Nemo 3D to find out.

image

The 3D isn’t as good as Brave but it’s still really impressive. The fish look so good, all of the scenes come out at you but don’t over do it either. It’s a perfect combination of art in 3D.

Now you can take the fun home with you and your family with these Finding Nemo coloring pages:

or these Finding Nemo activity pages

We were allowed to see an early preview as a family.

Turtle Talk With Crush Finding Nemo California Adventure Duuuude!

September 10, 2012 by Momstart 14 Comments

By: Ashley

clip_image002Finding Nemo is one of my all time favorite Disney movies, so to say I’m excited about the release of Finding Nemo 3D is an understatement. I was lucky enough to travel to LA for an early screening a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it. You can read all about the movie itself from Louise though. Me? I want to tell you about a totally awesome experience I had meeting the one and only Crush…. Dude!

Turtle Talk with Crush isn’t necessarily a new attraction at the California Adventure in Disney; it’s been there since July 2005. The technology behind Turtle Talk is incredibly cutting edge though. Think of Turtle Talk like an interactive 3D movie. That’s, like, totally mind-blowing, dude… for sure!

clip_image003

Guests come in and sit in a theatre style environment looking at a giant window (There is open carpet seating in the front for kids). I could say “screen” but this doesn’t look at all like a normal screen. There is a depth and 3D quality to everything about this experience. Through state of the art 3D technology, Crush appears and thanks to real time computer animations, and an amazing improve actor (who sounds just like Crush), Turtle Talk with Crush comes to life.

clip_image005

Come on, who doesn’t like the Crush-meister? He’s one of the most loved Nemo characters, and this experience is every reminder of why. The quick wisdom and wit delivered in a perfect surfer dude dialect, combined with facial expressions that say it all – Crush can win anyone over.

When I was there in August, I learned a lot about Crush and his totally tubular turtle world. I learned all about his family, how many kids he has, and even why his shell is green! I loved the personal interaction he had with the audience, and how there was a great balance of real science information (i.e. why he is green), and flat out funny (Did you know Crush has kids named Zach, Kelly, Screech, Slater, Lebowski, and Shelly? That of course is in addition to Sheldon, Ro-Shell, Me-Shell… ;))

clip_image007

It really was a one of a kind experience to meet Crush. In fact, I think I might be crushing on Crush just a little bit now! 😉 If you’re heading to Disney anytime soon, Turtle Talk with Crush should definitely be a MUST see. Especially with the release of Finding Nemo 3D, this is sure to amaze a whole new round of Crush lovers far and wide. It’s totally awesome… duuuude!

Sea It: Finding Nemo 3D In Theaters 9/14

June 9, 2012 by Momstart 30 Comments

clip_image001

Dory, Marlin, Nemo, and their fishy friends are coming to theaters September 14th for the first time in 3D!  “‘Finding Nemo’ was originally shot in 3D,” said John Lasseter, chief creative officer for Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios and the film’s executive producer. “At last, with today’s technological advances, this spectacular underwater world can be seen as it was intended—showcasing its eye-popping detail and breathtaking colors to both theatrical and in-home audiences and creating a truly immersive experience.”

Finding Nemo in 3D: Visiting the Seattle Aquarium #2DaysInSeattle

February 6, 2012 by Momstart 9 Comments

It’s been a while since our family has visited the Seattle Aquarium. It’s grown quite a bit since our last visit. They have a new indoor entrance and so many more hands on opportunities to play with the sea life.

image

After buying the tickets we were able to catch the end of the diver feeding the fish and her interview. My kids were fascinated and amazed, it reminded me of how much my kids loved going to the aquarium in the first place. Of course Finding Nemo brought out a love of aquariums in all kids (which by the way Finding Nemo comes out in 3D September 14, 2012), but my kids loved looking at fish way before they saw the movie..

clip_image001

The aquarium used the familiarity that children have and created an activity where the kids had to find different fish from the movie. Not all the fish we had to find were prominent in the movie but Nemo and Dori were both on the list. My kids had a blast searching through the fish and different tanks to find Nemo and the other fish on the list. What a great educational opportunity taking your kids to the aquarium was.

image

After our fish hunt we went to see the baby otter. To get to the otter l we had to go through the puffin house. Wow!! there was a puffin in there that was going a little crazy I think. Quoting Finding Nemo, “Fish don’t belong in a tank, it does something to them”….I was thinking that actually applied to this crazy puffin. The kids loved it though, they thought he was just putting on a show for them. Seriously, I’m happy the aquarium does what they do, the educate the kids and myself in so many different ways.Look at this seahorse it’s amazing!

image

Through stories, hands on exhibits and information we had a very fun and educational day. I learned that the Great Pacific Octopus can get up to 400 lbs, at least that’s the largest recorded weight. And they can get into as small as a quarter size hole as long as their beak isn’t that big. It’s their only limitation.

image

We ended our day with fish hats and I leave you with this trailer of Finding Nemo in 3D.

Travel and Expenses were covered by 2daysinseattle, the Seattle CVB. And yes I do have an ongoing relationship with Disney and DreamWorks. I have permission to use their artwork.
