George Foreman Healthy Cooking Evolve Grill Review

September 12, 2010 by Momstart 4 Comments

image The George Foreman Evolve™ Grill is quite an improvement over the last George Foreman Grill we purchased. The grill comes with so many different plates and they are all dishwasher safe. My only complaint would be that I want one that is even bigger than this one, longer, not deeper. The deepness of the George Foreman Evolve Grill, and the ability to control the temperature is what causes it to be so very unique in a healthy cooking perspective.

GeorgeForemanGrillPlates

The deep-dish baking plate allows you to quickly create casseroles to cakes. Mix up your ingredients, use the precise digital temperature control, pre-heat it, poor your goodies out, use the digital timer, and then serve. All of the plates have a non-stick surface allowing for easy clean up.

imageKey Product Features are:

  • George Tough™ nonstick coating for oil-free cooking
  • Patented slope for fat to drip away
  • Drip tray that is dishwasher safe for collecting grease drippings
  • 84 square-inch cooking surface
  • Precise Digital Time and Temperature Control
  • Removable dishwasher-safe plates

Pictured to the left is the muffin tin. This lays in the deep dish pan to create muffins. I like how you can use the spatula and attached it to pull it out when it is hot. image

Even when a pan says that it is non-stick, I still usually use a little cooking spray to keep it from sticking. That or I just throw everything in the dishwasher. When grilling with the George Foreman Evolve Grill I don’t spray it because I know that I can throw it in the dishwasher and it will come clean. And it does!

image

One of the plates that it comes with is the cross plate design that is perfect for making Panini. I get so tired of eating sandwiches so I love to heat mine up. The George Foreman Healthy Cooking Evolve Grill is perfect for making toasted sandwiches in a short period of time. It cuts out the need to flip the sandwich and if you just use a little bit of cooking spray on the bread you don’t need to use any butter, thus making your sandwich golden in color but healthier for you in the end.

Veggie Tales SweetPea Beauty

August 12, 2010 by Momstart 4 Comments

We have been watching Veggie Tales for a few years now and my kids are loving all the new movies coming out. The newest of these movies being SweetPea Beauty. I put it on for them yesterday and I’m ashamed to say that I was so tired I fell asleep. I asked Zoe if she wanted to watch it again and she said yes. The one about the princess that gets captured. I’m thinking, I’m glad someone watched it, can you write my review for me?

sp_CoverShe was quite excited to watch it again because Veggie Tales Sweetpea Beauty is another success by Big Idea! I love Veggie Tales because there is always a good message for the kids within the movie and it is reinforced. There are actually two stories on this DVD. Both are about the beauty within yourself. The first one is the story of Snoodlerella the ugliest Snoodle around according to the village. Well, her godmother fixes her up and makes her beautiful and she is the most popular girl at the ball. Then when the spell breaks she is left all alone. While she is sulking in the corner, the king comes out and tells her that he loves her the way she is. She was made beautiful on the inside and that is what counts.

Then the feature of the DVD, Sweetpea Beauty. Queen Blueberry thinks that beauty is only skin deep and she asks the mirror who is the most beautiful. One day, the mirror tells her that Sweetpea is the most beautiful and the queen becomes very jealous. She decides to banish Sweetpea. While the Queen’s attitude continues to degrade the evil mirror makes the queen even more ugly. Sweetpea is saved by the prince and in the process the prince discovers where true beauty lies.

DVD Running Time: 45 Minutes
Additional Info: Widescreen and Fullscreen, Spanish and English Subtitles, Running Time 50 min, 5.1 Surround, NTSC Region 1

A Special thanks to Family Review Network and Veggie Tales for providing a copy for this review.

Making Spaghetti with NutraSalt – an all-natural Sea Salt Review

December 28, 2009 by Momstart 6 Comments

Thanks to The Family Review Network and Nutra Salt I received six seasonings from the Sea Salt collection that Nutra Salt makes. Today I decided to use them and make spaghetti. It was a family hit. My daughter ate her meat which is usually quite a challenge but she loved it and ate it first.

The ingredients:

I didn’t have a recipe to go off of, and I’m one of those people that seasons to my taste as I’m cooking. I just throw in some of this and some of that. It was nice being able to just use the Zesty Italian blend for spaghetti. I covered the ground beef in the seasoning as I was cooking it. I would say that I used about two tablespoons. After tasting it I added some of the garlic to it. I love garlic. Then I added the tomatoes and tomato sauce and let it all simmer for 20 minutes. It was the best spaghetti I ever made. On their site you can find recipes to create your own low sodium creations.

Here is a photo of all the other flavors that I received. Sea Salt, Savory Garlic, African Medley, Classic Curry and Texas BBQ. Not one of my best photos I know, I used the wrong camera.

Low Sodium Sea Salt sea-salt

The Benefits of NutraSalt:

Americans are consuming too much sodium, we have salt on our French Fries and it’s in the ketchup that we use to dip them in. Nutra Salt gives you the salt without all the sodium. Their Natural Sea Salt contains 66 Percent less sodium than other salts. It is harvested from the salts and rich minerals in the Red Sea and Dead Sea. The Potassium in NutraSalt is much needed in our bodies. It plays a critical role in overall wellness.Natural potassium allows the body to regulate sodium levels by encouraging the kidneys to excrete excess amounts, and reducing the risk of high blood pressure, cardiovascular and kidney disease.

About NutraSalt:

Bon Vivant International, LLC founded by CEO and President Bez Arkush to provide delicious healthy food products to the international market. NutraSalt, its first line of products, was created in over 6 years of development efforts to provide the food industry and consumers with a delicious, low-sodium Sea Salt featuring the recommended amount of potassium in each serving.

Organic Baby Fresh Organics Shampoo & Wash and Bubble bath

November 26, 2009 by Momstart 147 Comments

Thanks to the Family Review Network, a company called Fresh Organics sent me a sample of their Shampoo & Wash and their Bubble Bath for babies. The company was created by Jeff, a father who’s son had many skin allergies and other sensitivities. So, out of a lot of hard work and development, Jeff created a line of allergen-free products that are safe for kids like his son to use.

About the Products:

The shampoo and bubble bath are both 100% allergen free and tear-free. All the other products at Fresh Organics are free of dairy, eggs, gluten, soy and nuts: they are guaranteed nut-free. They also contain No Sodium Lauryl, parabens, petroleum, artificial colors or fragrances.

The first thing I like to do when trying out new bath products is open them and smell them. The Shampoo/Body Wash, which is like a gel and has very light fragrance to it. It smelled like aloe and that always makes me think of the beach. So I was taken away with the Shampoo. I liked it. I liked using it on my daughter’s hair.  It lathers nicely and leaves her hair light. Best of all, they didn’t cry like I was burning their eyes when I rinsed them out.

I also tried the bubble bath. The bubble bath had more of a floral scent to it; which makes sense since it has lavender and sweet orange oils added to it for a nice scent. The Bubble quality was great. and the kids felt clean. I liked the scent so much I thought I would just steal the bubble bath and use it on my own personal baths. Too bad I don’t have that luxury very often, my kids go through a ton of bubble bath

Prima Princessa Ballarina Nutcracker

October 21, 2009 by Momstart 7 Comments

image

One of my favorite things about Christmas is The Nutcracker. I love the Nutcracker. I love going to see it live, I love watching it at my house and I was in it when I was in elementary school. I went to a private school and my dad didn’t have extra money. I think we could barely afford the school but he wanted me to have a good Catholic education so when I was up for the lead and didn’t get it I think it’s because the other girl’s family had more money. Ahh, I’m too shy for so much attention anyways.

Prima Princessa Presents The Nutcracker

I was pleasantly surprised when I watched this because I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t think it would be appropriate for Zoe yet but why was I surprised when both Zoe and Miles wanted to get up and dance when they were doing the teaching segments in-between some of the scenes. Hmm, I’ll never know about something until I try it and see it through my kids’ eyes.

This family Christmas movie is the perfect Holiday Gift for girls ages 3 to 7. Join Prima Princessa, the adorable cartoon fairy ballerina princess, as she takes you on an amazing Christmas adventure filled with snow fairies, toy soldiers, sugarplums and sweets galore!  Get on your pretty tutu and get ready to dance with the San Francisco Ballet as they perform excerpts from their world famous ballet “Nutcracker.” Between acts your kids will get up off the couch and dance along as they learn real ballet steps demonstrated by students from the School of American Ballet, the official academy of the New York City Ballet.

“Prima Princessa Presents The Nutcracker” is the second show in the Prima Princessa Presents series, which is designed by two stay at home mom-entrepreneurs on a mission to bring the beauty and magic of ballet into the lives of children everywhere.

Thank you to the Family Review Network & Prima Princessa for the copy of the DVD to review and enjoy with my family. It was written as part of a blog tour.

Practice your Yoga Positions with My Yoga to Go #giveaway

October 13, 2009 by Momstart 169 Comments

Is it a challenge to find time for your yoga workout? Do you know how to do yoga? I’ve often just used a book for practicing yoga, often being hardly ever. I love doing it, it just takes that thing called time that I don’t have. Do you exercise at all? I don’t and stretching and yoga is so easy and so satisfying. Because when I’m sore after working out for 10 minutes of stretching and holding positions I know I’m making a difference on my body.

Do you need to brush up on your yoga poses? Are you bored with your static yoga routine?  Do you want to try yoga for the first time, but don’t know how to start?

MyYoga2GoIf you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then give the My Yoga 2 Go Practice System (http://www.myyoga2go.com) a test run.

Whether you are a yoga novice or expert, My Yoga 2 Go Practice System makes it easy to customize your workout and practice yoga in the comfort of your own home.  It is very easy to use, my trouble is keeping the cards away from my daughter. She has a card addiction. She doesn’t care what kind of card it is. It’s just hard to keep it out of her reach and she is very fascinated with it. At least though she has been sharing it with her brother.

It is very important to get yourself moving and yoga is nice because it is so easy on your body. I’m not saying yoga is easy I’m just saying the results can be felt. Be sure to follow directions and consult a doctor before starting any exercise routine.

Start slow, set five minutes aside after you picked out your work out. Then build it up every day. You’ll feel better in the long run, now, if only I could follow my own advice. You can take this exercise program with you anywhere, It folds up small and packs well.

The Practice System features 71 posture cards organized by level of experience and available workout time and a custom tote for displaying the cards.  You simply select a color-coded sequence, organize the cards by pose number, insert the cards into the clear multi-pocket display tote, and hang the display tote on a wall hook or doorknob.

About My Yoga 2 Go

Baby Toupees instant hair for the bald baby #giveaway

September 12, 2009 by Momstart 61 Comments

I received a baby toupee from the Family Review Network and Baby Toupee.

I thought it would fit my son but it doesn’t. He’s 18 months and has a head the size of a 3 year old. So if your child is younger or has a smaller head this will be loads of fun for you. The Baby Toupee I have to giveaway is black. It has short curly hair and is extremely soft. I think it’s actually softer than human hair.

I wanted to much to share a photo of it on my own childredfn but i couldn’t click fast enough before it was on the floor. It was just too small. I know it’s because my kids have unusually large heads.

An Excellent gift idea for an expecting mom or for a baby shower. It would also be great for an upcoming candy holiday we all know and love. I do at least. I love Halloween and always have. I’m on the search though for a boy’s Halloween costume. I think Baby Toupee should expand and make some for larger babies too. Just my two scents.

If you want a great laugh please feel free to enter to win mine.
