I would have sent What to Expect When Your Expecting Workout to Ashley, but it just showed up on my doorstep. Usually brands ask me who to send the item too, this one just showed up, but I felt that it still deserves a mention. Pregnant women have New Year resolutions too. I put on so much weight when I was pregnant because I didn’t exercise and I always ate like I was eating for two.

I love that the different workouts are broken down into 10 minutes… this way to can do a few of them and have time in between to check on my toddler to make sure everything is ok before starting the next workout. The best thing is I actually feel like I got a good workout without exhausting myself. It’s so important to keep active while pregnant and this dvd makes it possible for a full time working mom, housekeeper, cook, wife to be able to stay active 🙂

I consider myself physically active, and when I became pregnant things changed. My usual routines became unbearable. This workout DVD allows you to take advantage of 10 minute workouts, from cardio to light strength to stretching, all with Pilates and yoga influence. I feel like I am targeting the areas of my body which are becoming weak and flabby because of the pregnancy, and this makes for a really satisfying workout. If you don’t have 40 minutes, switch your workouts to 10 minutes a piece throughout the day. Either way, there is something about starting a workout that is only 10 minutes that makes me want to do more and more…

I just bought this dvd today and I’m not going to lie I was a bit questionable on it because I thought it was going to be super easy like the workout video I just bought the week before, but after doing some of the workouts today I must say I completely love this workout video. I like how there are different types of cardio and strength workouts so I wont have to do the same thing ever day. I also love how its actually makes me work up a sweat and it made for all trimesters with women from their 1st trimester in the video to about to pop and of course some of the workouts have water downed options for those who are farther along. I would recommend this to anyone it really is a great work out at a really great price.

With back to school in session my goal is to get back into shape. Somewhere during the summer months I quite exercising. We quit exercising as a family, well I’m off to change that for me and for the kids. We’re getting out of the house an hour before school to go and get some exercise. New Exercise DVDs Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown and Fame Dance Workout Giveaway

My new great idea was to put on exercise DVDs during rainy days. That way I could encourage myself to get off of the couch and get the kids dancing. We tried Fame first. Fame: Dance Workout (Amazon affiliate link). Three of the actors/dancers from the movie Fame are leading exercises. It made me realize just how uncoordinated I have become trying to do the dance moves was really hard. I used to be flexible and able to kick, shake and shimmy. Maybe with more practice I’ll be able to do that again. Biggest point is that the kids got moving and were quite cute, repeating words that the dancers were using. They were counting and happy. New Years Resolution with Moms Into Fitness #giveaway

Moms Into Fitness’s own Lindsay Brin contacted me and asked me to do a review of her exercise videos. That was three months ago today. Now I look at her blog and I think of how wonderful she is and I want to honor her request no matter how late it might be. Why?

Secondly, she is a motivational person. I wrote to her and told her that I suffer from depression. That I had a bout of it right after my second pregnancy. It’s normal for women to have post partum depression and we don’t need to be ashamed of it.

“And I hope your PPD is better!  I’ve worked with so many women with it.  Did you know it hits 1 in 4 of us?  Geez-as if we don’t deal with enough as mothers!  Truly, I hope you are feeling better.  I’m happy that you recognized you had it.”

Do I have intentions of trying all of the DVD’s at my disposal, yes I do, as soon as the doctor says I’m clear for workouts, then I’m shedding those pounds and quickly.

Then I can update the post with reviews or just do a review on a Fitness Friday post.

New Years Resolution Yoga Trio #giveaway

I received these three DVD’s to review on Mom Start. It’s very sad because I can’t do an accurate review yoga right now. I haven’t been approved for exercise from my surgery yet. But as you can tell I’m going to be all stocked up on exercise when I am all healed. Then come the real reviews.  I was surprised that all exercise depends on the condition of your abs and that’s where half of my incisions are. As soon as I can bend at the waste I will be able to do these, and I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to all of these opportunities to get my fitness level up. Stretching and simple low impact exercise like yoga is awesome for your body. It’s gentle movements that kick start your heart. I’m always amazed at how tired I am after a bit of yoga. But I sure do feel good afterwards.

New Years Resolution Take off the lbs with Dancing With The Stars #giveaway

Two things about me other than it’s my New Years Resolution to lose weight.

One, I love to dance. I love it so much, I’ve taken lessons in college and with my husband. I dragged him with me and we did about ten weeks but I thin I’ve forgotten most of it. I’m just not sure. I think when it comes to swing dancing I would fall right back into the swing of things. Ha ha ha, I know, I’m not that funny.

Two, I love watching dancing with the stars. ABC’s Dancing with the stars is so much fun to watch. I love to watch the different dances and wish that I could train with a professional. The classes I took with my husband were a lot of fun. We learned all of the different ballroom dances. We didn’t master them. I’ll admit a weakness to you. I’m not good at following. I just want to lead. Oh the shame, I’ve never really had a great dance partner, oh wait, I take that back. Once, when I was in high school, my boyfriend and I went out swing dancing. We went to a bar that was hosting dancing and we danced. He wasn’t that strong either but this couple came in. They were dressed to the nines when it comes to swingers. The guy asked me to dance and it was AMAZING. So I do believe Edward Cullen in Twilight, “It’s all in the lead”

From the looks of them, I know I’m going to like them. I much prefer dancing off the pounds to just doing routine exercises. After watching it, I know I’m going to love doing it.

This one has more slower parts in it. I can’t do this one  yet either, because I have to be very careful for two more weeks. Time is passing but just going to Costco with my kids wares me out. The slower parts focus much more on the mid section, you know those trouble areas that all of us women would just love help in.
