DreamWorks Need For Speed Featurette: “The Guys”

February 11, 2014 by Momstart 2 Comments

DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” (opening nationwide on March 14, 2014) boasts a cast of talented actors who are quickly becoming Hollywood’s next generation of stars: Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Scott Mescudi and Dakota Johnson. Here is the new featureette “the guys”

For director Scott Waugh, casting these actors was one of the most important aspects of making his film. “To me, casting was everything,” he says. “If we were really going to represent the greatest culture of America, which to me is cars, we needed to find great actors to represent that era and hopefully bring back when that era was so cool. For the role of Tobey Marshall, our hero, we couldn’t have done better than finding Aaron Paul. He’s a man’s man, and that’s what Steve McQueen was.”

clip_image001Aaron Paul’s character, Tobey Marshall, is a blue-collar worker with a passion for racing cars and a vocation for rebuilding them. He runs his family’s auto shop and races the underground street circuit with his friends. His whole world is turned upside down when he is sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. In prison, he spends two years thinking about one thing: vengeance. While questioning the morals to which he has always adhered, he is determined to clear his name and set things right.

Delivery Man Delivers Humor, Heart and Happy Endings #DeliveryManEvent

November 22, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

I’ve seen Delivery Man twice now and it just gets better every time I’ve seen it. Vince Vaughn has more to him that just a comedian that ad libs his movie lines as he goes, he has many sides to him. The ability he has to say the funniest lines, like it’s the most serious of issues just cracked me up. The movie as a whole is a fantastic opportunity to go out on a date, it’s clean for the whole family, and entertaining to boot.

image

Let’s get into the meat of the film…

Is it possible to be the father of 533 children? Is it possible to be the father for four children? David Wozniak is struggling with his finances, his girlfriend, and his meat delivery job. His girlfriend drops the news on him that she’s pregnant and that he’s not allowed to be the father until he gets a life. He owes a huge amount of money to loan sharks, and then he finds out he’s the father of 533 children. He has an identity crisis, (Yo no soy David Wozniak). Life just fell in his lap and he is faced with the decision of letting these children know he is the father or making money suing the fertility clinic. What does he decide? He decides to be a guardian angel to these kids…..

delivery man

The premise of the movie is hilarious and how David handles everything is hilarious. And I love how his family is full of love no matter the circumstances and how everything comes together for him in the end. He’s an adorable character with more heart than most people have. As David struggles to decide whether or not he should reveal his true identity, he embarks on a journey that leads him to discover not only his true self but the father he could become as well. It also poses the question? What is a real family?

Don’t forget to connect with DELIVERY MAN on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. This film is out now in theaters. Delivery Man truly is a great heartwarming movie to see with your family this Thanksgiving season. This film is rated PD13 and runs 103 minutes long.

Aaron Paul in DreamWorks Pictures Need For Speed March 14, 2014 #NeedForSpeed

November 19, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” marks an exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when the authenticity of the world brought a new level of intensity to the action on-screen. Tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing, the story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country journey for our heroes — one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Based on the most successful racing video game franchise ever with over 140 million copies sold, "Need for Speed" captures the freedom and excitement of the game in a real-world setting, while bringing to life the passion for the road that has made our love of cars so timeless. clip_image001

The film centers around Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul), a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Bonet (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey’s shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn’t commit, and sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out west.clip_image002

Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge — but he knows his only chance to take down his rival Dino is to defeat him in the high-stakes race known as De Leon — the Super Bowl of underground racing. However to get there in time, Tobey will have to run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet that includes dodging pursuing cops coast-to-coast as well as contending with a dangerous bounty Dino has put out on his car. With the help of his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

And you should watch the movie trailer

DreamWorks Feature Film Adaptation of The Hundred-Foot Journey Began Production #100FootJourney

October 9, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Production has begun in southwest France on “The Hundred-Foot Journey,” based on the best-selling novel by Richard C. Morais. Starring Academy Award®-winner Helen Mirren, and directed by Oscar® nominee Lasse Hallström, the film will be released on August 8, 2014 in the U.S. Knowing that DreamWorks is handling this movie, and it’s located in France, it’s going to be a beautiful story and very well done.

clip_image001

In “The Hundred-Foot Journey,” Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal) is a culinary ingénue with the gastronomic equivalent of perfect pitch. Displaced from their native India, the Kadam family, led by Papa (Om Puri), settles in the quaint village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val in the south of France. Filled with charm, it is both picturesque and elegant – the ideal place to settle down and open an Indian restaurant, the Maison Mumbai. That is, until the chilly chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a Michelin starred, classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), gets wind of it. Her icy protests against the new Indian restaurant a hundred feet from her own escalate to all out war between the two establishments – until Hassan’s passion for French haute cuisine and for Mme. Mallory’s enchanting sous chef, Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon), combine with his mysteriously delicious talent to weave magic between their two cultures and imbue Saint-Antonin with the flavors of life that even Mme. Mallory cannot ignore. At first Mme. Mallory’s culinary rival, she eventually recognizes Hassan’s gift as a chef and takes him under her wing.

“The Hundred-Foot Journey” abounds with flavors that burst across the tongue. A stimulating triumph over exile, blossoming with passion and heart, with marjoram and madras, it is a portrayal of two worlds colliding and one boy’s drive to find the comfort of home, in every pot, wherever he may be.

DreamWorks Pictures’ THE FIFTH ESTATE New Movie Trailer #FifthEstate

July 17, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

The powerful new trailer for DreamWorks Pictures’ THE FIFTH ESTATE is now available and while I was watching it I figured out where I’ve seen that actor. .Benedict Cumberbatch. Benedict was in Sherlock and I loved that show and can’t wait to see the next season but he’s doing a lot of movies right now like this intense movie The Fifth Estate.   Here is a synopsis of the film and a new trailer. The Fifth Estate opens everywhere on October 18th:

Triggering our age of high-stakes secrecy, explosive news leaks and the trafficking of classified information, WikiLeaks forever changed the game. Now, in a dramatic thriller based on real events, THE FIFTH ESTATE reveals the quest to expose the deceptions and corruptions of power that turned an Internet upstart into the 21st century’s most fiercely debated organization. The story begins as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his colleague Daniel Domscheit-Berg (Daniel Brühl) team up to become underground watchdogs of the privileged and powerful.

clip_image001[4]

On a shoestring, they create a platform that allows whistleblowers to anonymously leak covert data, shining a light on the dark recesses of government secrets and corporate crimes. Soon, they are breaking more hard news than the world’s most legendary media organizations combined. But when Assange and Berg gain access to the biggest trove of confidential intelligence documents in U.S. history, they battle each other and a defining question of our time: what are the costs of keeping secrets in a free society—and what are the costs of exposing them?"
