Our Generation Doll: Travel Luggage, Travel Doll Hally!

May 21, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

By Lynn

Oh what a cute doll! I loved receiving our first “Our Generation” doll, Sandie, over Valentines Day. The way it looked so sweet. Something children can play with as they get older when they no longer want to play with baby dolls.

I also received an adorable travel set with Hally. Hally came with a story book, and you can get the travel set separately to go with any Our Generation, or 18” doll.

This is such a great toy to get before we all start travelling around for Memorial Day or in the summer. You can get it as a gift now and do some a great role playing with your child before – showing them the passport and/or ticket they will use when they travel. Or give it to them just before you go, so they have something new to play with on the plane/in the car etc. There are a lot of little items that came in the travel set, so definitely be mindful if you have a baby in the house too (or coming to visit). But you can always take the tiny pieces out – there was enough to play with that they don’t need everything all at once. If you put some pieces away you can give them the pieces at a later stage, and a new way to play with the doll will be discovered!

These awesome, summer-themed accessories include:

  • Travel Luggage Accessory Set – Everything your doll needs for jet-setting around the world!
  • R.V. Seeing You Camper – This luxury camper includes everything a doll needs for life on the road, including a mini kitchen, dishes, two stools, a bed and bedding.
  • “Off the Beaten Path” Bundle – Ride in style with Our Generation’s "Off the Beaten Path" bundle, including an 18" doll, jeep, tent, and all the necessary camping accessories to cozy up next to a campfire.

What was cute with Hally is a little story book that is included with it. Ok, the child in me LOVES this because you get a doll AND a book that talks about the character as if she were REAL and this adventure really happened, you can use the doll to act out parts, etc. The book was aimed at 7+, my daughter who is almost 6 reads really well (I’m sure I’ve said before) and could read this book to herself on her own. It is short chapters so a GREAT book for a first or second grader.

The box can be folded “inside out” and used as it’s own gift wrap, also the box is well constructed to be used over and over so children can get many hours of play with the box!

About Lynn:

I met Lynn in MOMS Club and she has two children. One of which is the same age as my daughter and they love to giggle and play together. Lynn Hooper is also a local Mary Kay Consultant while also being a full time mom. “A lot of what the business stands for is true to my heart. Mary Kay Inc. has a foundation that donates funds to help end domestic violence and also funds research into cancers that affect women. Mary Kay also has what’s called "The Golden Rule" which means God (faith) first, family second and business third. A great principal for me and nice to know I am part of a team that believes in this too.”

Celebrate Little Mommy Day Any Day

June 6, 2012 by Momstart 12 Comments

By Emily:

Is it just my kid or are there other little girls out there that go overboard when it comes to hosting a playdate? What can start out as a simple get together with a friend or two, will usually turn into a themed party complete with an itinerary, snack menu, and music. I shudder to think what my daughter will have in store for her wedding day! But I honestly do love her enthusiasm and I’m amazed at all the entertaining ideas she comes up with.Dolls and Clothing

For our most recent playdate, we decided to check out the easy to use, Little Mommy Day Facebook application (Facebook.com/littlemommy) created by Mattel. Mattel’s Little Mommy dolls are a big hit in our home and the new Facebook application takes the fun one step further by organizing everything you need to create a special Little Mommy Day for your child. Parents can access a fun activity kit of DIY printables, as well as find great tips from Rosie Pope, host of Bravo’s “Pregnant in Heels”! Rosie Pope recently hosted her own Little Mommy Day in New York City and you can also read all about the event on the Little Mommy Day Facebook page.Little Mommy Logo

Little Mommy Dolls are specifically designed for girls as young as 18 months, and provide products that offer play for all stages of a little girl’s life. Every little girl loves to pretend that she’s a real mommy, and Little Mommy brings this nurturing play to life through a world of adorable baby dolls and accessories. We were given the wonderful opportunity to review the Sweet as Me Dolls which are the toddler stage of the Little Mommy doll line. My daughters really think these are their coolest dolls! We received the TuTu Cute and the Oh So Boho dolls, each with beautiful shiny hair, bright eyes and colorful clothing. Each doll has her own accessory piece and unique shoes. We were also fortunate to receive two additional outfits which my daughters have mixed and matched into their own stylish creations.Print Outs

To get ready for our Little Mommy Day playdate, we printed out Little Mommy invitations, birth certificates, scrapbook kit and matching card game. My older daughter got to do all the cutting and my younger one helped with the pasting. We used a simple and yummy recipe idea found on the Little Mommy Facebook page and the girls got to make their own graham cracker sandwich snacks. The set up was just as much fun as the playtime!

If your child loves being a little mommy to her dolls, I highly recommend checking out the Little Mommy Facebook page and hosting your own Little Mommy Day any day!Snuggle Dolly

Little Mommy dolls can be purchased at major retailers and online. For more information visit: www.littlemommy.com.

Big Eye Dummies Are Back #giveaway

December 8, 2009 by Momstart 144 Comments

Slicka_web

Slicka came to our house six months ago and when we first got him, my daughter wanted to open her up. I told her “that’s a donation for Bloggers Give”. It being purple her favorite color and her being only two it didn’t make any sense to her. My husband told me to be able to write a good review I needed to let her play with it first. So two against one, I gave in and opened it to let her play with it. We ended up keeping it. I never collected all of the pieces into one spot so that I could donate it. I suppose I still could.

The Big Eye Dummies are a colorful cast of characters with magnetic eyes and mouth. It says it’s for two and up and the only reason I can figure it says that for is because on of the eyes could be stuffed down a child’s mouth, but hardly. I can’t see my one year old doing that. Now that he’s almost two I know he could shove it down his mouth. He has a large mouth and loves to put things in it. Boys will be boys.

My daughter likes stuffing toys down her shirt so she took all the pieces down her shirt and then laughed. She said “where’d it go”? I told her she was being silly and I helped her find them. She laughed again and played with Slicka some more.

Slicka and her parts are now in pieces scattered between the two rooms.
